Located a little over a 5-minute walk from Kumatori Station, this café is a bit hidden from the main road with no prominent signs, so you might miss it when driving by for the first time. Look out for the coffee shop next door where you can also dine in. They serve coffee made with a siphon, and their prices include tax. Some of their offerings include a Mont Blanc chestnut cake for 460 yen, an ichijiku fig tart for 460 yen, a blueberry tart for 320 yen, and a local egg pudding for 320 yen. The cakes used to be known for being rich and traditional, but on a recent visit, it seemed like the recipes may have changed. The cream and dough were both lighter than before, and the receipt clearly lists the product names and prices, making it easy to check.

The freshly made cake is the most delicious! Especially the texture of the sponge, the light sweetness of the fresh cream, and the refined sweetness are superb! Among the cake shops in Osaka, this place is definitely one of the top three. Although the rating on Tabelog is surprisingly low, it is true that the taste of the take-out shortcake is closer to a freshly made birthday cake, but it is still ten times better compared to other nearby cake shops. This is just my personal opinion. Please try ordering a whole cake with fresh cream over the phone. They used to deliver nearby, but now they are short-staffed and no longer offer delivery.

I ordered a whole cake after a long time. I wonder what happened? Could it be because I put it in the fridge too late after buying it? Or maybe it was because of the time it took to eat it? The sponge was not tasty at all! Did the pastry chef change? Until I figure out the cause, I can't order it again because it's expensive. I bought it, everyone had a bite, and then no one wanted more, so it stayed uneaten for a long time. It seems like the taste didn't deteriorate because of my health condition.

I had a cake prepared for my boss's birthday. When I urgently needed a cake, I searched for a place to get one and asked Watanabe, who said they could have it ready in 30 minutes! They close at 7 pm, so they were able to make it by around 6 pm despite the sudden request. They wrote a message in chocolate on the cake, and it was delicious. Seeing my boss's happy smile was the best. Thank you very much. I will definitely ask for your services again. Thank you for the meal.

At first, I thought it was a beauty salon, but when I searched on Tabelog, it turned out to be a cake shop called "Hanya". I decided to stop by. Inside, there were local customers chatting at the table. As I looked at the showcase, I was asked, "Which one would you like?" I felt rushed. I found a visually appealing cake and pointed to it, saying, "I'll have that one." The staff took out one from the showcase and placed it on a tray. I paid for it. It was a "Fromage Blanc" cake for 380 yen (tax included). As they put it in a box, another staff member asked, "Just one?" I felt a bit embarrassed for only getting one. When I opened the box, I noticed they forgot to include an ice pack. Anyway, the cake had strawberries, summer oranges, grapefruits, and kiwis with a creamy cheesecake filling, making it a refreshing summer cake. The two brown slices on top were slices of chocolate. I'm sorry for only getting one.

Cake shop located a 5-minute walk from JR Kumadori Station! The interior is cozy and there is a cafe space in the back with 3 tables for 4 people and 2 tables for 2 people, so you can relax comfortably. They offer various cakes such as the classic shortcake and tart, etc. This time, I tried the Opera and the popular Napoleon Pie. The Opera was around 2.5 stars... not too harsh, but as a big fan of Opera, I noticed some areas like syrup and cream thickness that left me a bit disappointed. It felt like a fake Opera in a way... The Napoleon Pie, on the other hand, I would give it around 4 stars. The pie crust was well baked with a strong flavor, and the custard inside was light and easy to eat, so I enjoyed it until the last bite. I also ordered coffee, and the total came to 1120 yen! Getting two cakes and coffee for this price is definitely a local advantage. In Osaka city, it would cost an additional 500 yen. It had a vibe of a cake shop loved by locals, so I would like to try different cakes there again. Thank you for the meal!

There are many cake shops around Kumatori Station, but "Watanabe" here is a local favorite with a strong following. This simple cake shop sells fresh cakes and baked goods. However, despite its simplicity, it seems to have a strong commitment to each ingredient. It is recommended for those who want to savor each cake. The prices of the cakes are mostly around 300 yen. The two items I tried this time were the strawberry roll cake (1050 yen) and the local egg pudding (220 yen). The strawberry roll cake had a fluffy sponge with a good texture, but personally, I wanted more strawberries inside and out. It was just the right size for about four people. Other roll cakes available include "chocolate roll" (1000 yen) and "local egg roll" (850 yen). The local egg pudding had a strong egg flavor and a delicious caramel. I am curious about the "Napoleon" (mille-feuille) and several fruit tarts. I would like to try them next time along with some baked goods.

Kumatori has a lot of delicious cake and pastry shops. Locally, people say "Kumatori is a fierce battleground for cake shops" (laughs). One of them is this shop. The exterior looks small and simple, like a cake shop. It's quite famous locally. We often order birthday cakes and Christmas cakes here! For birthdays, we get a strawberry cream cake, and for Christmas, a chocolate cream strawberry cake. The cream has a very elegant sweetness, not too heavy, so you can eat it quickly. The sponge is also perfectly sweet, fluffy, and moist. We are a family of four with a sweet tooth, so an 18cm cake costs around 3900 yen. Once, we received a fruit tart as a souvenir! It had various fruits on top, with a stylish chocolate decoration (like a swirl). It looked lovely and tasted great! It was probably around 400 yen. Tarts are the best! Next time, I want to try the Mont Blanc. By the way, it's recommended to reserve the Christmas cake in advance. Once, we went without a reservation (in the evening), and they were already sold out... so please be careful!
