This restaurant used to operate in a container store facing the main street, Shiratori Street, in Furumachi. The owner has now moved the store to their family home and continues to operate there. It's about a 10-minute walk from my house. As a fan of spicy food, I was curious about it since the construction phase, so I went there for lunch this time! The interior of the restaurant is cozy, with three 4-person tables, one 5-6 person round table, and a small feel to it. The menu has been narrowed down and slightly upgraded since before. For lunch, there are two omakase courses available for 1600 yen and 3000 yen (for two people). You can choose from a variety of dim sum, noodles, stir-fried dishes, etc. There are three types of tantanmen: soupless, with soup, and cold. There are also individual items such as braised pork ramen and braised pork fried rice, all priced at 880 yen each. When you order a lunch menu, you can get dessert at a discounted price. This time, I ordered tantanmen with soup and without soup, as well as braised pork fried rice. The soup tantanmen had a light soup without sesame paste, with a fragrant sesame aroma, a spicy kick from black pepper, and a rich taste with Sichuan pepper and more. The soupless tantanmen had a thick, spicy red sauce and a black sauce with a kick from Sichuan pepper and black pepper. The noodles were piled on top of the black sauce, with only the red sauce visible. Enjoy it with a soft-boiled egg mixed in. The fried rice had plenty of ingredients, giving it a slightly sticky texture. The soupless tantanmen was spicier. With vegetables like cabbage, the crunchy texture was also great. It seems to get quite crowded on weekends, so weekdays are a better time to visit. I used to go to Nankinmachi in Kobe to eat tantanmen, but now I don't need to go anymore! I liked it so much that I'm planning to visit again with my mother and sister!
