I used this place for a solo casual drink during my business trip to Kitakyushu Kurosaki. I ordered the recommended drink set for 980 yen, which includes one drink, one appetizer, and one dish. I chose a draft beer for the drink, bang bang chicken for the appetizer, and grilled dumplings for the dish. The bang bang chicken had thick slices of chicken with a nice fatty texture, and it was quite delicious. The dumplings had a chewy skin with a crispy sear, and the juicy filling was very tasty. They also offer regular meals, so it seems like a place you could use for dinner as well. Thank you for the meal.

I am becoming a heavy user of this restaurant. It's because it's close to the hotel where I telework. When I returned from personal errands, it was already close to noon. Time for a nutritious lunch to prepare for the afternoon work. Today, I chose the set lunch which includes ramen, fried rice, and fried chicken. It arrived in just 5 minutes. This is my first time trying the ramen at this restaurant. It's a light pork bone ramen, very typical of Kitakyushu. It doesn't feel like a Chinese restaurant, but it's delicious with thin noodles. Very satisfied, thank you for the meal! I forgot to take a picture of the fried chicken this time. I apologize. If you're curious, please check out my past reviews (lol).

After the end of the state of emergency, I resumed dining at Ryuka Gyoza yesterday. The young proprietress greeted me with a warm "Long time no see!" It seems they have been closed since February. Come on, Corona, enough already. Today's lunch special includes mapo tofu, fried rice, and a pork bun. Since I have work later, I opted out of alcohol. They also have a new menu item, "Recommended Sake Set (980 yen)," but I had to pass. First up was the regular-sized fried rice and pork bun. It looked so filling at first glance. Then the mapo tofu arrived. The mapo tofu here is unique, made with tofu, minced meat, and onions. It's spicy but has a distinct sweetness to it. The fried rice is very simple, with only char siu, fish cake, finely chopped green onions, and egg as ingredients. The bonus pork bun seemed to have been microwaved after being frozen for a while, as the filling was a bit solidified, but it was just a bonus. With this generous portion and the addictive taste of the mapo tofu, I left feeling full and satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I have visited this restaurant about 8 times now, and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that every time I come to Kurosaki, I have a meal here. Today, I had lunch. I was torn between choices, but I ended up ordering the service set meal with grilled dumplings (not fried dumplings). I also ordered a draft beer at the special price. First, I enjoyed the beer with some pickled vegetables as a snack. Since it was right after work, I quickly finished the first beer and moved on to the second. Just then, the main set meal arrived. The chicken wings were crispy and delicious. In addition, there were 2 pieces of complimentary fried chicken with salt seasoning. The piping hot dumplings, fried chicken, beer, and rice all went well together, and I finished everything in no time. It was delicious! I am satisfied with the usual taste. Thank you for the meal!

Yesterday I kept my promise and had the mapo tofu set meal with fried chicken as a service. The mapo tofu here contains minced onions instead of green onions. Despite its soft appearance, it is surprisingly spicy. I enjoyed it with two glasses of draft beer and one glass of Shaoxing wine. It was a feast in the midday drinking spot. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was at Ryuka Gyoza. It was actually my first time visiting for lunch. I entered the snack-like shop and sat at the counter. The mama greeted me with a "long time no see" right away, which made me happy (laughs). I noticed the lunch set menu. I ordered the pan-fried dumplings with rice, soup, pickles, and fried chicken. There were other menu options as well. I started with a beer and some pickles. It was satisfying. When the lunch set arrived, it was just as I had hoped. Dumplings, yay! I enjoyed them, and the mama said, "Feel free to ask for seconds." Of course, I did. I left feeling full and satisfied. Tomorrow, I promised myself I would try the mapo tofu for lunch.

During my second visit to this restaurant in Kitakyushu, I suddenly felt hungry after achieving the purpose of my stay (my parent's transfer). So, I decided to try the Ryuka Gyoza. I hadn't really thought about it before, but I think the boiled dumplings set meal is amazing. The dumplings at this restaurant are not reliant on the soup, they stand out on their own. Don't be fooled by the homey atmosphere. Itadakimasu!

Series Holiday Overtime Meal. Revisited Ryuka Gyoza after a long time. Welcomed by the Chinese owner with a "Long time no see!" and relieved to see her looking well. The restaurant has a Chinese-style interior, likely a former snack bar. Background music has changed from Chinese pop songs to Japanese enka, creating a nice mismatched vibe. They had a reopening campaign with pan-fried and boiled gyoza for 380 yen each, draft beer for 380 yen, and other alcoholic drinks for 300 yen. Since it had been a while, I decided to compare the pan-fried and boiled gyoza. A vinegar dish (complimentary) was served as an appetizer, with shredded daikon, carrots, and sliced onions pickled in sweet vinegar with hints of ginger and chili pepper, which was delicious. Is this also Chinese cuisine? While waiting for the gyoza, I finished the appetizer and got a refill. I was served 8 pieces each of boiled and pan-fried gyoza at the same time. According to the owner, Chinese gyoza doesn't contain garlic, so I could lightly taste the flavor of ginger. I usually prefer pan-fried gyoza, but the thicker skin of the Chinese-style gyoza made me enjoy the boiled ones more. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

This week I visited Ryuka Gyoza in Kitakyushu City again. This time I had the mapo tofu set meal, which also came with gyoza (I couldn't resist and had one gyoza before taking the picture because I was so hungry). The homey taste of the food made me feel at ease. Interestingly, the other female customer who was there last week was also dining at the same time. It felt like fate to meet again at this restaurant. It was a cozy solo dining experience. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely come back again.

This is another visit to Kurosaki. After cleaning my parents' house and working remotely, I got hungry. So, I went to this restaurant. Even before entering, you can tell it's a Chinese restaurant from the outside, right next to a snack bar. Inside, there is a cook who seems to not speak any Japanese and a mama who can speak broken Japanese. I had high expectations. I ordered a bottle of beer and a set meal of pan-fried dumplings. It came with chopped pickled vegetables as a side dish. The set meal arrived quickly and the dumplings were delicious. They even had some crispy edges. As I finished eating, the mama asked me if I wanted more rice, saying "Are you full?" in a kind tone. In my mind, I thought "Well, the rice portion was already huge." But since I still felt thirsty, I ordered a Shaoxing wine and spring rolls. They were served at an amazing speed. The spring rolls were also delicious. I was impressed by the speed of the service and enjoyed my meal. Thank you for the meal!

Located next to Ebisuya Shokudo near JR Kurosaki Station, along National Route 3 in Yahata Nishi-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture (3-4-20), this restaurant is easy to find. Kitakyushu is known for its high-quality sushi, but it also has many top-rated gyoza restaurants, with Kurosaki being a hub for unique eateries specializing in gyoza and ramen, contributing to the culinary scene in the area. Recently, during a conversation about gyoza with an acquaintance, the topic of the best gyoza in Kurosaki came up. I mentioned that I had visited Ryuhoen near Kurosaki Station and found it to be my favorite. The acquaintance recommended Ryuuka Gyoza, saying it was also delicious. Intrigued, I decided to visit Ryuuka Gyoza to compare. I tried the pan-fried gyoza for 380 yen (on promotion), which reminded me of the gyoza from Kamata. It was delicious. When I inquired about the connection between the two restaurants based on the atmosphere and gyoza style, I learned that they were affiliated. The mother runs this restaurant while the father runs Ryuhoen – quite impressive. Ultimately, I found that both restaurants offer delicious gyoza, making it a tie in my book. Another great gyoza spot in Kurosaki. However, considering the convenience from the station, Ryuhoen is more accessible.

Last holiday work meal of the year. It's been a few months since I had Ryuka Gyoza. I wanted to say hello to the female owner, but she was off. The reopening campaign prices from the coronavirus closure are still ongoing, with both the pan-fried gyoza and ramen priced at 300 yen each. The pan-fried gyoza has a thick skin typical of Chinese gyoza, and it was delicious as always. The gyoza had wings attached, and they were overflowing from the plate. The ramen has the traditional taste of Tonkotsu ramen from Kitakyushu. It has a light Tonkotsu soup base with boiled pork, bean sprouts, and white onions. The straight thin noodles were cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of bounce and smooth texture. The flavor is mild, so I wish there was a bit more richness or a spicy accent, but for 300 yen, I can't complain. I didn't drink alcohol, but the campaign prices for beer are really cheap at 380 yen for draft beer and 300 yen for other alcoholic drinks. It's also recommended to enjoy some drinks with gyoza as a snack. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant "Ryuka Gyoza" is located on the opposite side of the "Kamuzu Shotengai" arcade on the west side of the "Fureai Street" that runs through the center of Kurosaki. The friendly Chinese mother who serves customers, along with her husband in the kitchen, creates a welcoming atmosphere. The compact interior, which clearly used to be a snack bar, is now decorated in a Chinese style. The restaurant has a counter with about 10 seats and three small tables for two. The "Shui Ban Yaki Gyoza (8 pieces) with Chahan" costs 780 yen and comes with soup and pickles, as shown in the photo. The gyoza has a thick skin and juicy filling, suitable for Japanese tastes. The fried rice is light and fluffy, with a gentle flavor. Overall, the restaurant is recommended and deserving of a rating of 3.8 on a personal scale.

After a long time, I had lunch at Ryuka Gyoza. The owner was lively. They had a campaign price after a long closure due to the Spring Festival and Corona, with pan-fried dumplings, boiled dumplings, and ramen for 300 yen including tax. You can get ramen and pan-fried dumplings for 600 yen and be full. The owner asked me, "Do you want the usual dumpling sauce or the Chinese ×△〇?" I couldn't catch the ×△〇, so I said, "The Chinese one, please." It turned out to be Chinese vinegar, and it had a strong taste like British malt vinegar. I don't dislike malt vinegar (it's not my favorite), so I tried the pan-fried dumplings with Chinese vinegar. I added chili oil from the second pan-fried dumpling, which I preferred. It wasn't bad, but next time I might go with the dumpling sauce. There's no photo of the pork bone ramen. The toppings were boiled pork, bean sprouts, and green onions. The light pork bone soup and soft noodles reminded me of the nostalgic taste from my student days in Kurosaki. It was delicious with a positive memory boost. Thank you for the meal.

Ryuka Gyoza in front of Kurosaki Station in Kitakyushu City. The restaurant had been closed for a while, but when I passed by the other night, I saw that it had reopened, so even though I had already had dinner, I stopped by for a quick drink and just some gyoza. I ordered a lemon highball, pan-fried gyoza, and boiled gyoza. The pan-fried gyoza had a crispy and juicy texture, while the boiled gyoza was chewy and springy. When paired with the lemon highball, they were incredibly delicious. If asked which was better between the pan-fried and boiled gyoza, I can only answer "both" (⌒-⌒; ) It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Water dumplings and a little drink. Kurosaki "Ryuuka Gyoza" After finishing work in Kurosaki, I happened to find "Ryuuka Gyoza" in an area where I don't usually walk. Having dumplings and a little drink is nice. The interior of the restaurant is more like a snack bar than a Chinese restaurant, and the staff seems to be Chinese. Chinese places usually don't have a seating charge, so it's nice for a casual drink. I had a draft beer with water dumplings! There were various condiments on the table, so I added a bit more pepper. The dumpling skin was a bit thick, but overall it was a nice little drink. Restaurant Information: Ryuuka Gyoza 093-883-7845 3-4-20 Kurosaki, Yahata Nishi-ku, Kitakyushu City Operating hours: 11:00-15:00, 17:00-23:00 Closed on Sundays

Located in Kurosaki, Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu City, right next to Ebisu Day and Night Restaurant. This Chinese restaurant, run by a Chinese couple, opened in 2018. You can enjoy authentic home-style Chinese cuisine here. The restaurant has gained high popularity, even being featured on television. For lunch, you can choose from main dishes such as boiled dumplings, mapo tofu, and liver with leeks, served with white rice or fried rice. Both options come with soup and pickles. Additionally, the white rice comes with 2 pieces of fried chicken or dim sum. This time, I ordered boiled dumplings with fried rice (780 yen). The boiled dumplings had a chewy skin and a flavorful filling. The sauce was not too sour and had a hint of sweetness, while the chili oil was quite spicy. The fried rice was a simple dish with green onions, kamaboko, egg, and meat, and was quite mild in flavor. Since there were no condiments on the table, it was not possible to adjust the taste. The pickles were spicy, which added a nice contrast to the mild fried rice. The egg drop soup was also mildly flavored. The prices were average, and the taste varied depending on the dish. The service was quite fast. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I had a day of work in Kurosaki and decided to have lunch at Ryuka Gyoza after a long time. I ordered the "lunch service set" (780 yen including tax) where you can choose between water dumplings (8 pieces), rice, fried chicken (2 pieces), and soup. In addition to dumplings, you can also choose mapo tofu or leek liver for the same price, but I wanted to have dumplings so I chose that. While waiting and chatting with the fluent Japanese-speaking hostess, the water dumplings, rice, soup, and pickles were served in a messy manner. This messy feeling really gave off a "Chinese home cooking!!" vibe, which I liked. The water dumplings had a thick skin and a chewy texture, typical of Chinese cuisine. I usually prefer pan-fried dumplings, but when it comes to Chinese-style dumplings, water dumplings are hard to resist. I enjoyed them with white rice. The soup was a thick Chinese-style egg drop soup. The pickles also had a Chinese influence, with a slight sweetness and sourness followed by a hint of spiciness, a unique flavor that I didn't dislike. This also went well with the rice. Before the fried chicken was served, I almost ran out of white rice, and the hostess kindly offered me a refill, which I accepted. She also brought me more soup and pickles. The well-fried chicken thighs had a strong flavor and a crispy coating, which I liked. I was satisfied with the meal for 780 yen. Overall, it was a filling and enjoyable meal. Thank you for the meal.

After quenching our thirst at DAIMARU, we decided to have some Chinese food at Ryuka Gyoza, a place we visited when it first opened. The atmosphere alone is great, even though the hostess doesn't speak much Japanese or English haha. We shared the following dishes among three of us:
- Mapo Tofu (680 yen)
- Steamed Dumplings (480 yen)
- 3 pieces of Fried Chicken (380 yen)
- Fried Rice (580 yen)
- Soft Yakisoba (580 yen)
We ordered quite a variety of dishes, right? The steamed dumplings were delicious as always, with a nice chewy texture. The mapo tofu had that classic Chinese flavor, with a good amount of spiciness. We added some of their amazing chili oil to make it even better - so delicious! The fried chicken had a thick crispy coating, giving it a real Chinese vibe. My colleague enjoyed the fried rice, which had a gentle flavor that was enhanced by adding some chili oil. The yakisoba had a nice firm bite to the noodles, and with a touch of chili oil, it was perfect.
We also had about two cups of sake each, and the total bill came out to around 1,000 yen per person, which was a great deal. The dumplings were tasty, the dishes were reasonably priced, and the chili oil here is really something special. It's on the table, so feel free to use as much as you like to enhance your meal. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

Today is Tuesday. In the midst of heavy rain, I set out to enjoy some izakaya hopping in Kurosaki during my business trip, but after being turned away from various shops I finally ended up at "Ryuuka Gyoza." Already on my third stop, I was in "finishing mode." Despite the name "Ryuuka Gyoza," the Chinese owner and hostess served up some tasty Chinese cuisine. It seemed like the perfect place for a finishing touch. The main seating in the restaurant is at the counter, where about 10 people can sit. There were also two tables for two along the wall. I ordered mapo tofu, boiled dumplings, fried chicken, fried rice, and yakisoba. While not as authentic as a proper Chinese restaurant, the homemade dishes were quite tasty. Personally, the most delicious dish was the yakisoba, which was more like fried ramen. It had a light salt flavor that was easy to eat. The fried rice had diced fish cake, giving it a home-cooked feel with a light seasoning that paired well with drinks. I wouldn't say it's "amazing," but I enjoyed the home-cooked style flavors. I would like to come back for a "finishing touch" after a night of drinking.
