I walked from Honmachi to Kitahama, then to Namba, and finally to Tennoji (>_<). My feet were getting tired and it was hot, so I decided to take a break in Abeno with an iced coffee before heading home. There are cafes everywhere, but many of them don't allow smoking, so I ended up going to a classic coffee shop like Swan. I wonder if it will be crowded if I enter around 3:40 pm? It seems to be really popular!! I chose an iced coffee for 450 yen. When did we stop saying "cold coffee"? It has a nostalgic Showa era vibe, but I wonder if there are any distinct characteristics of the Heisei era? I pondered these thoughts while enjoying my cold coffee like a dandy (laughs). I had a leisurely afternoon, drafting my review content, and it was a delightful experience (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑ Thank you for the meal (*''艸3`):;*。 プッ

Iced coffee for 450 yen ⚠️ It seems that customers under 20 years old are not allowed to enter because smoking is allowed in all seats. Non-smokers may feel uncomfortable when entering the store, so be careful. It's a café suitable for adults, not a glamorous place. People come here during work breaks, after shopping, or just passing by. It reminds me of the places where my parents' generation used to take a break. I entered on a hot day. A wet towel and water were brought to me, and I was asked, "What would you like to order?" I hesitated on what to order and asked them to wait a bit. In the end, I ordered an iced coffee. As if they knew what I wanted to order, the iced coffee appeared almost instantly, and I enjoyed a brief moment of rest while sipping it. The café is located between Kintetsu Abenobashi Station and JR Tennoji Station, close to both.

I visited around 12 o'clock on Saturday afternoon. It was very busy but there were some seats available. I wanted to eat waffles, so I ordered the Harukas Waffle and hot tea. The waffle came relatively quickly, and it was thin and light. It had my favorite whipped cream, pudding, bananas, oranges, cherries, jelly, and vanilla ice cream on top. It tasted like the waffles you would get at a cafe, and it was delicious. The tea was average. The set with the drink cost 1,080 yen. Smoking is allowed inside the restaurant, so please be aware if you are sensitive to smoke. They only accept cash. If you don't have enough cash, you can leave your belongings and go to the nearby ATM to withdraw money, so don't worry. (Experienced customer)

Located in Abeno-Suji, this shop is a rare find nowadays as it allows smoking. True to its name as a traditional coffee shop, it has a nostalgic atmosphere. The sandwiches are grilled on one side, giving them a crispy texture. It was a delight to immerse myself in the old-school charm of this coffee shop after a long time. Thank you for the meal.

Near Kintetsu Abenobashi Station, it was bustling even on a weekday lunchtime. There is a second floor and surprisingly a lot of seating! I had the Italian spaghetti lunch set and it was very delicious! They also have cakes and desserts, so I would like to go again sometime. ^ ^

It seems that smokers are starting to feel uncomfortable, so here is a smoking-friendly cafe. Recently, young people seem to like this retro atmosphere of cafes like this. I had just eaten Chinese food and was full, so I only ordered a drink. I had ginger ale. They also have Dr. Pepper, but it's quite smoky here haha. Smokers seem to appreciate this place and hope it doesn't disappear, as it is a smoking-friendly cafe.

I went there after 4 pm. I used to go there often when I smoked, but I have been smoke-free for 8 years now and had been passing by. I had a blended coffee for 450 yen. It's been a while, but this coffee was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This morning's breakfast was in the vicinity of Abeno Ward in Osaka City. I headed to a rare find these days, a cafe where you can smoke. The place I went to is called "Jun Kissaten Swan Abeno Store". It's really great for smokers like me. The name of the store is Swan, but you can smoke, which is nice. As a smoker, I really appreciate it. Smoking and coffee go hand in hand. It's located just 1-2 minutes walk from Abenobashi Station in Osaka. It's a cool and nice place. I wanted to fill myself up, so I ordered a Hot Dog Set (¥560) with a Mini Salad (¥200) and a boiled egg (¥60) on the side. Oh, how luxurious (laughs). So, my breakfast cost ¥820. I had a hot coffee to drink. Oh, it's great. It feels like the top-class of cafe breakfasts. The Mini Salad is quite voluminous, the Hot Dog has curry-flavored cabbage in it, and the boiled egg is slightly warm. The coffee is also generously poured. It's delicious. The crispy roll with sausage and curry cabbage. The ketchup flavor is irresistible. This is cafe gourmet! The Mini Salad is crunchy, and the ham is good. ¥200 might be a bit expensive, but it's energizing and filling. The boiled egg is also nice. I haven't had it for breakfast anywhere else recently (laughs). I'm fully satisfied from the morning. Filled up for ¥820. Smoking cafes are decreasing, but please continue to do your best. Thank you for the meal. Total cost for breakfast today ¥820.

Looking from the outside, it had a retro vibe, and inside the restaurant, smoking was allowed with everyone puffing away. My wife ordered waffles with ice cream, while I went for Italian spaghetti. Both were reliably delicious. It got me thinking, maybe light meals are called that because they're meant to be light on the stomach.

Located in Abeno Ward, Osaka City. A cafe with two branches in Abeno and Kyobashi, facing Abeno Q's Mall. The interior is spacious with seats up to the 3rd floor. Smoking is allowed in all seats.
Iced coffee (430 yen) is refreshing and well chilled. The cafe proudly supports smokers, as stated on their website. Such a cafe is a welcome addition!

As usual, after drinking, I felt like having ice cream and went to a long-established coffee shop. When the automatic door opened, the unmistakable smell of cigarettes filled the air. I ordered a Peach Sundae for 720 yen and a coffee for 430 yen. In less than 3 minutes, the Sundae and coffee were brought to me, which was quite impressive. Nowadays, even if a parfait costs 2000 yen, I guess that's just how it is. I accepted that 720 yen might only get me canned peaches. I sat at a table away from others, so the smoke didn't bother me too much. It seems that Japanese people have a gene that makes them feel nostalgic about coffee shops or old-fashioned cafes. There were quite a few young customers as well. Thank you for the meal~

Cold desserts are the best. This is a backlog from June 2022 when I was slacking on updates. From the pedestrian deck at Q's Mall, you can see a cute building with a logo attached - a place with a nostalgic atmosphere called "Jun Kissaten Swan." The windows are large and high, with the top window rounded at the corners, giving it a nice design. The ground floor also exudes a nostalgic Showa era vibe. The building wall prominently displays "Kissaten Swan," while the storefront says "tearoom SWAN," creating a slight variation in the name. For this blog post, let's stick with "Jun Kissaten Swan" based on the receipt. There's a staircase leading to the upper floors with large windows, but the first floor is fine. The counter surrounding the kitchen, with a ceiling featuring an Art Deco style, adds to the Showa era flavor. The waitresses' uniforms also have a classical Showa modern vibe, which is lovely. I ordered an ice cream waffle set. It was a hot day, and I was tired. In times like these, I want to be comforted by something sweet, cold, and delicious. That's why I chose the ice cream waffle. It looks beautiful, doesn't it? It's mesmerizing. Sweets are usually beautifully presented, and just by looking at them, you can imagine the sweet pleasure they bring. So, when you eat them, a wave of pleasure spreads through your brain. Cold and sweet treats are a delight for the brain. I felt happy. Plus, true to a Showa-era coffee shop, smoking is allowed. You can enjoy sweets, coffee, and cigarettes - it's like paradise. It was the best.

As I passed by, I was drawn to the appearance of the place. It was an old-fashioned traditional coffee shop. The shop seemed quite well-aged. There was a sign at the entrance stating that smoking was allowed in all seats. I'm not a fan of smoking, but since it seemed like a rare place, I decided to go in. I ordered an iced coffee and pudding. The coffee was in the 400 yen range, just as expected from an old coffee shop. Both the coffee and the pudding had a traditional taste that matched the atmosphere perfectly. I was glad I decided to come in. I also used the restroom, which had walls that were quite dirty. It wasn't due to lack of cleanliness, but more like the building showing signs of aging. It felt like a "before renovation" photo from a remodeling company. It was by far the dirtiest restroom I've been in at a restaurant in the past year. Such a shame. It's a shame to see the cleanliness level affecting the overall atmosphere of the place.

I went to have breakfast before visiting the Harukas Art Museum. I ordered a hot dog set, which I think was 500 yen. The hot dog had cabbage sautéed with curry powder underneath the sausage, which brought back nostalgic flavors. The coffee was also delicious. However, smoking is allowed in all seats, so people who dislike smoke may want to consider this.

On April 2, 2022 (Saturday) around 1:35 PM, I had a blend coffee. As a person from the Showa era, I prefer coffee shops over cafes. When I'm alone, I somehow feel comfortable with the smoky atmosphere, including the smell of cigarettes. The coffee also tastes 10% better... Am I weird? Anyway, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It was my first time coming here on a Saturday before 3pm, no waiting, and customers started coming in one after another. The food was delicious on all three floors, which was great! It's a perfect place for smokers to relax, so non-smokers should be aware (about 80% of customers smoke). It has a great Osaka vibe.

I had always been curious about this shop. I tried the cake set and it was delicious! The retro coffee shop trend is really strong now! It was interesting to see both trendy couples and cool older men in the same space. Smoking is allowed, so there is a smell. Also, the toilet is extremely dirty, so unless it's really necessary, it's definitely better to go to somewhere like Harukas nearby. Enjoy the atmosphere!

Good Points:
The pudding a la mode was really delicious! Especially the coffee was tasty.
Disappointing Points:
- Smoking is allowed in all seats, so it smells quite bad...
- The staff's attitude was not very good...
- The interior is dirty. It's not just old, there are spider webs and the toilet is dirty. It's a shame because the menu was good, but the disappointing points are regrettable.

Today, I had a meeting with my best friend in the Tennoji and Abeno area. We were looking for a cafe where we could smoke, and we found "Jun Kissaten Swan Abeno Store" here. There aren't many places where you can smoke in the Tennoji and Abeno area. It's like they're discriminating against smokers! Anyway, I appreciate that cafes like this one are trying their best. It's located near Abenobashi Station in Osaka. It was a hot day. It's so strange how hot it is. So, I decided to have a parfait! I had the ¥780 matcha parfait. It was cold and delicious. It was nostalgic! While trendy matcha lattes are good, I still think parfait from old-style cafes like this one is great. The portion size was good, and it was worth the price. I'm very satisfied. It was a great time. It was delicious. This is the cafe in the Tennoji and Abeno area where you can smoke. Thank you for the meal. Today's cafe bill: ¥780.

When I feel like drinking a mixed juice, I always end up going to Swan-sama. Lately, there are fewer cafes around, so the chances of encountering a mixed juice have decreased. The mixed juice at Swan-sama is definitely delicious. It's a soothing treat.
