Welcome. ---------- September 2021 ----------This time of year again, heading to Taiki Town with my three little brothers as usual. This time, we went to a small gathering at "Remosawa" with the base being Kagetsu. We had a great time. "Fried chicken" made from half-cut chicken from Nakasatsunai for this price (900 yen, local price) - crispy and juicy with plenty of saltiness, perfect for drinking. "Burdock sticks" - fried with a crunchy texture and a healthy feel. Dip it in the mayo provided, and it's a perfect match. "Edamame" - the reliable chilled edamame. "Chicken skin with grated ponzu sauce" - soft skin with excess fat removed, topped with grated ponzu sauce for a refreshing finish. "Chicken cartilage tempura" - homemade and crunchy, with a good amount of saltiness. "Pork intestine stew" - soft intestines with a sweet and salty miso flavor. "Curry rice" - despite being only 350 yen, the portion is good. The thick and spicy curry, similar to Indian curry, is full of beefy flavor. The rice is firm, making it a perfect finish. We were kicked out at 8:00 pm, but it's understandable. Personally, it's one of the top three izakayas in Taiki Town. However, I always think that they should have the "cheese salmon bowl" to liven things up (which was missing by the way).

Welcome.---------- August 2019 ----------A charcoal-grilled restaurant located along the main road R236, with a counter and a raised tatami seating area. The interior has a nostalgic feel, with a spacious kitchen. The owner and his son give off a welcoming atmosphere. The place is almost full by 8 pm, showing its popularity. The skewers are mostly served in sets of three, with a variety of options like tender and juicy pork belly with a rich sweetness, and large foreign skewers with tender meat. The simmered pork intestine is soft and has a good texture, with a rich miso flavor that is slightly sweet and salty. It's a must to have it with white rice. The old-fashioned taste and the smiling faces of the staff make the experience enjoyable. The owner and his son are humble and well-loved. The famous "Cheese Salmon Bowl" was not on the menu, but it seems like a must-try dish.

On March 2, 2018 (Friday), I visited a restaurant in Hamadori, Oki Machi for a business meeting with clients. The location is in the main street of the central area of Oki Machi, facing the street. Upon entering the restaurant through the unique double entrance typical of Hokkaido, you will find a large space with a wide counter and about 5-6 private rooms lined up. Some of the private rooms are quite spacious to accommodate families in the neighborhood. Since there were four of us, we were seated in the smallest private room. It was a Friday night, and the restaurant seemed almost full with other customers enjoying their meals. The first dish that came out was a huge portion of fried chicken, similar to what is known as "Zangi" in Hokkaido. It seemed like they fried a whole chicken and cut it into pieces, as the fried chicken included all parts with bones. The surface was crispy and well seasoned, resembling fried chicken. The grilled chicken skewers had onions in between each piece, and the grilled pork skewers were also delicious. The skewers were quite substantial in size. I ordered sake after having a beer, and although the menu mentioned the price for a small serving, they brought out a large bottle containing four servings. I decided to go ahead and finish the sake myself, as the others stuck to beer. Thanks to that, I was able to walk back to the hotel without feeling cold.

This is a yakitori restaurant in Oki-machi. Lately, they have added more side menu items which is great. Especially, the Takkejan Ramen is delicious. It's a spicy ramen with chicken, different from the Yukejan Ramen you find at yakiniku restaurants. They have a good selection of yakitori, karaage, so it's good for gatherings or drinking parties! However, late at night, the owner and his wife run the place by themselves, so be aware that large orders may take some time. They are willing to accommodate even if it's past closing time, so feel free to discuss with the owner. I will definitely visit again.
