Lunch was very satisfying! This is a review of Uogashi Nihonichi Maido at Hankyu Department Store Snack Park. I explored the Umeda area and decided to have lunch before 12:00. I went to the Snack Park on the 1st floor of Hankyu Department Store, where there is a sushi restaurant called "Uogashi Nihonichi." The atmosphere of the restaurant is very traditional, with several sushi chefs energetically making sushi behind the counter. I ordered the Aoi lunch set with 12 pieces of sushi for 1000 yen, which comes with miso soup that you can refill. I also ordered a green tea highball for 390 yen to go with the sushi. The sushi was delicious and the rice was perfectly seasoned. The miso soup had a strong bonito flavor and was tasty. I also ordered 2 extra pieces of negitoro for 300 yen, which had a refreshing taste, and 2 pieces of seared anago for 460 yen, which had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. There is a great set available from 3 p.m. at this restaurant. I chose sushi from among many shops. They make it right in front of you and it's fresh, delicious, and great value for money. It's a great choice when you're a little hungry. With so many shops to choose from, it's a fun experience.

I was looking for a place to eat and drink quickly at the snack park in the basement of Hankyu Department Store, and since the famous grilled squid had a long line, I decided to go into the standing sushi restaurant next to it. First, I ordered the Nigiri evening set, and then ordered several individual pieces of sushi. The sushi was small, probably due to the location, and there were many grilled items on the menu, which made sense.

The tuna, red snapper, ikura, negitoro, bonito, binchotan tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and horse mackerel were all delicious. Despite the low prices, the quality was impressive, and the staff even asked if I preferred ponzu or soy sauce with the horse mackerel. Overall, I appreciated the mix of high-end and casual sushi options available. Highly recommended!

It gets really crowded around noon on weekends, but around 9 o'clock on Sundays, it's empty. Even at night, the prices are the same, and there are even sets with beer included which might be a good deal if you think of it as a sushi dinner. It's just standing room though.

Today, I woke up early and visited Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store with my wife as soon as it opened. After finishing our shopping, we headed to Umeda Hankyu Department Store's snack park to visit the number one sushi restaurant in Japan, Umeda Hankyu store. The standing counter had about 10 seats, and we were seated right away without having to wait. I ordered the "Aoi" for 1,100 yen including tax, while my wife ordered the "Seasonal Nigiri" for 1,280 yen including tax to start. We also ordered additional items like medium fatty tuna and fresh sea urchin. The medium fatty tuna was exceptionally delicious. We had two draft beers and one rock shochu to finish, totaling 5,610 yen. The rice portions were on the smaller side. The man who seemed to be the owner was not particularly friendly.

This time, I went to Fish Ga Sushi, a standing sushi bar. Despite being a standing sushi bar, they prepare the sushi right in front of you. For 4 pieces of nigiri and a chu-hi drink, all for 600 yen including tax, it's a great deal.

I forgot the last one! There was also an egg dish as a side. Beer wasn't enough, so I ended up adding a lemon shochu highball. If you had these 4 pieces of sushi, which one would you eat first?

I had engawa, chu-toro, simmered anago, hand-rolled with LINE friends, seared scallop, engawa, and salmon, a total of 9 pieces, and I was satisfied. I have also eaten at other locations in Shinagawa Station and Kintetsu Namba Station, and surprisingly, it was quite delicious.

The restaurant was almost full before 11 am, possibly due to tourists stopping by. A female artisan was busy at work. We enjoyed delicious dishes such as hikarimono, grilled squid with ginger, horse mackerel, and simmered conger eel with a side of chilled sake for lunch. It was delicious!

When there was a squid grill under Hanshin, there was a standing sushi bar behind the squid grill shop, but they moved together to Snack Park. There are a few friendly chefs behind the counter who make sushi for customers who order, and it's a standing style sushi bar. One plate costs 150 yen or more, which is slightly higher than conveyor belt sushi, but the reassurance of freshly made sushi is different. I don't drink alcohol, and I prefer soft and shellfish over fish, so I don't have many options to eat, but I'm happy that there are squid legs and boiled clams. Well, it took a little courage to order for a repeat visit, but it was worth it. Eating quickly and thinking about what to eat next can also be a fun way to enjoy.

Then had 3 pieces of shellfish, green onion with plum, seared golden eye snapper and throat blackthroat seaperch with salt, and finished with simmered conger eel. The casual standing style makes it easy to stop by, and the polite service from the chef and staff makes it a favorite sushi place. Will definitely visit again.

On this day, I went to the Snack Park at Hankyu Department Store for the first time in a while. The most popular shop at the Snack Park seems to be the squid grill shop, as there were about 50 people lining up even though it was a weekday. Some customers were wearing Hanshin Tigers uniforms, and the song "Rokko Oroshi" was playing inside the store. The shop near the squid grill shop was also bustling. I wanted to have a little sushi with beer. Just at that moment, I found a great deal - the Nigiri Sushi Evening Set for 980 yen (tax included). It includes 3 pieces of sushi, double portion of negitoro gunkan, tamago (egg) appetizer, and a drink. Unfortunately, I was so eager to drink beer that I forgot to take a photo of the draft beer! I placed my order and the chef immediately made the sushi. The sushi included bintcho maguro, shimesaba, and katsuo. The shimesaba was particularly delicious, with a melting texture! The tamago appetizer was sweet and a nice palate cleanser. The bintcho maguro also tasted fresh. I didn't have the Hankyu Department Store point card, so I got one here. There was a showcase right in front of me with various sushi toppings, making it feel like you could eat as much as you want, but I was also curious about other shops at the Snack Park. Today's solo lunch was at "Uogashi Nihonichi" located inside the Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store Snack Park. I ordered the "Botan" lunch set for ¥1680, which included 11 pieces of sushi and miso soup. The sushi included shrimp, medium fatty tuna, sea bream, horse mackerel, salmon roe, sea urchin, minced tuna with green onions, salmon, bluefin tuna, and conger eel. It was a stand-up style dining experience, so it was quick and easy to enjoy the sushi. The sushi was served in the order it was prepared. The inclusion of sea urchin and salmon roe at this price point was reasonable. I originally wanted to go to a different restaurant, but the atmosphere inside was too hot, so I gave up. The Snack Park was bustling with people, and I noticed that the omelette rice had increased in price to 500 yen. I guess with all the price hikes happening, it's inevitable. The sushi included tuna, negitoro, squid, and boiled shrimp, and it was really delicious. The highball is normally 380 yen at the restaurant, so it felt like a good deal. They also have other attractive sets like sushi sets and evening drink sets for 980 yen, so I plan to visit again!

Today's weekday lunch was at "Sushi Uogashi Nihonichi" located in the basement of Hankyu Department Store in Umeda. There are also branches in Umeda and Namba in the Kansai region. I arrived after 12 o'clock and there were about 10 counter seats at this standing sushi bar. There was only one person ahead of me, so I decided to wait. After about 3 minutes, it was my turn. I ordered the Sushi Lunch Elegant for 880 yen, which includes 10 pieces of nigiri sushi and miso soup. As soon as I had the miso soup, the sushi was served quickly, 2 pieces at a time. Tuna - delicious, Squid - delicious, Salmon - average, Raw shrimp - average (depends on personal preference), Shrimp - average, Sandfish - average (depends on personal preference), Bonito - delicious, Tamago (egg) - average, Negitoro Gunkan - delicious, Gunkan - average. The portion was just right, the store was clean, and I would definitely come back. They also offer alcohol and sushi sets at night, which is appealing to me. It was rare to see female sushi chefs working here. The staff were also very friendly. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again! They accept PayPay and card payments.

I was impressed by the deliciousness and cost-effectiveness of the Napoli-style spaghetti in Osaka, so I ended up going to the sushi restaurant next door. The standing sushi bar had a great selection of fresh sushi that you can choose from right in front of you. It was around 3 pm, but the counter was full and there was a line outside. The turnover was fast. There were many solo customers, mostly middle-aged women. They would chat with the sushi chefs while enjoying sushi and beer. It seemed like many people would eat a few sushi rolls for around 1000 yen and then head home to prepare dinner. It was a nice Osaka experience.

The sushi was of high quality and reasonably priced. Each piece was served individually. I would definitely like to visit again.

I can easily go alone anytime during the closing hours when all the shops I want to visit are closed. I asked for smaller portions at this sushi restaurant, and it was perfect. Rating criteria: 5.0 - visited more than 10 times (my best restaurant), 4.5 - visited 5 times or plan to visit regularly, 4.0 - visited 2 times, 3.5 - would like to revisit, 3.0 - no plans to revisit, 2.5 - some difficulties.
