I have visited this shop many times after being introduced by a beautician. The raw meat dish for 300 yen per plate is irresistible. The liver, intestines, tongue sashimi, and grilled dishes were delicious. It's recommended to arrive around 7 pm to avoid lining up before the shop opens. Definitely recommended! ☺️

We visited the restaurant until 10 pm. On this day, my partner and I had negi no nuta, fugu skin yudofu, fugu karaage, dashimaki, 3 beers, and 3 oolong highballs. The total bill was 4,000 yen. It was a great value for money! We will visit again. Thank you for the meal!

It's a cozy restaurant. I used to visit often when I was on a business trip in Osaka. Even after that, whenever I was in Osaka on a business trip, I always made sure to stop by. Due to the pandemic, this visit is after about 4 years. The restaurant is still wonderful as ever. It seems to be very popular, as even on a weekday night, there was only one seat available at the counter and I just managed to get in. Personally, good conditions for a great izakaya include: 1. A wide variety of menu options. This restaurant offers a range of dishes from fried foods to sashimi. Today, I had octopus balls. 2. Reasonable prices. If you're drinking alone, you can get quite full and have a good time for around 2000 yen. 3. A good distance with the staff. There are plenty of staff on the floor who quickly take your orders. However, they don't engage in unnecessary conversations with customers, maintaining a pleasant distance intentionally.

I came back to Osaka from Sendai and went straight to a typical Osaka-style izakaya. I had octopus sashimi, bottled beer, doteyaki, assorted skewers, and a highball. Everything was delicious. Doteyaki and skewers are the taste of Osaka. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Mass Izakaya Masamune-ya" in Abeno Walk for the second time last month. It was Sunday at 7:30 PM and the restaurant was full, so I wandered around nearby until a seat opened up. After 20 minutes, a seat opened up at the counter, which was bustling and lively with almost all seats taken. The dishes I enjoyed were ham cutlet, chicken skin, stir-fried vegetables, bottled beer, and highball. I was delighted to enjoy freshly fried and grilled dishes, such as the crispy ham cutlet, crunchy and fragrant chicken skin, and flavorful stir-fried vegetables. The variety of dishes and the lively atmosphere make me want to visit again and try more!

I really liked the izakaya "Masamune-ya" located on the 1st floor of Abeno Walk, right near Tennoji Station, even before my first visit. The restaurant has a counter, tables, and tatami seating, which makes it spacious and lively yet relaxing. The atmosphere is great, and they offer a wide variety of dishes at a reasonable price. I started with some hot sake, yakitori, and agedashi tofu. The yakitori, grilled with a sweet and savory sauce, and the light agedashi tofu with soy sauce, ginger, and green onions were delicious. For dessert, I had a sweet potato shochu highball and stir-fried leeks with liver, which had a rich flavor that paired well with the shochu. I want to try more of their dishes and definitely plan to visit this izakaya again!

Great taste, great service. I found a nice restaurant with experienced staff in their 50s to 60s, giving off a good balance of professionalism and a relaxed atmosphere. The customers are mostly local sake enthusiasts, creating a welcoming environment. The service is friendly and the retro Showa-era vibe is soothing. We started with draft beer, tuna sashimi, potato salad, and conger eel tempura, along with a bottle of Hokkaido sake, all for 2300 yen. The old-school service style in Osaka is comfortable and unpretentious, making it a pleasant experience. This place focuses on serving the local drinkers rather than trendy young people or tourists, which I appreciate. 30 years ago, Abeno wasn't a fashionable area, but now it's a nostalgic spot where hardworking individuals would spend their hard-earned 6000 yen for a 2000 yen drink at a local bar. This kind of place, reflecting everyday life, is what I enjoy. I'll definitely come back to this place that suits me.

Went to Abeno Q's Mall to buy glasses and a pillow, and on the way back stopped by Masamune-ya. Going shopping today felt like a suicide mission because it's too hot. We were shown to a private room with a cramped table, not a traditional sunken kotatsu table. Ordered two large bottles of beer, squid sashimi, grated yam, rolled omelette, chicken skin with ponzu sauce, fried blowfish, and miso-grilled saury. The food was decent. Masamune-ya is definitely not as good as the one in Namba. The overall taste and atmosphere were lacking. The bill came out to 3300 yen for two people, which was reasonable. Thank you for the meal.

After leaving the yakiniku restaurant, I wanted to go to another place, so I talked to the staff and they recommended Masamune-ya. Since it was the only place available at this time, I decided to go there. Even though I was full, I ordered a drink at room temperature and some light tuna sashimi. Masamune-ya is not a standing bar, they have chairs for customers. It's a place that caters to the common people. Normally, I prefer standing bars without chairs, but I also like places that cater to the common people. I had a good time at the yakiniku restaurant and now at Masamune-ya. It was a nice day, thank you for the delicious time.

After watching a movie at Abeno Apollo Cinema, I headed to Via Abeno Walk for some drinks. I knew there was a "Masayasu-ya" here, but this was my first time stopping by. The place has a good number of seats, including a counter, tables, and a raised seating area. The counter seemed popular and was full, so I sat at an available table. I was happy to see Kirin Lager bottles available for beer. I was a bit worried about smoking being prohibited since it's in a commercial facility, but I was relieved to find out smoking was allowed. The menu was neatly displayed on small strips of paper above the counter surrounding the kitchen, and there was also a whiteboard. The lineup of dishes was extensive, and I had a hard time deciding what to have with my beer. I ended up ordering a rolled omelet for 280 yen each and skewers of grilled chicken and chicken skin for 240 yen each. The prices were cheap for a place where you can sit down and drink and eat. After finishing my beer, I switched to sake. Sake with tempura is always a treat, and I enjoyed the generous portion of tempura eel for 400 yen. This place, located in a commercial facility or shopping mall, is truly a casual pub where smoking is allowed. It's a place for men to relax and unwind. There is also a "Meiji-ya" in this facility where smoking is allowed, but I feel like I want to let loose a bit more here at "Masayasu-ya". It has a more laid-back and casual atmosphere.

Iidako-ni and Doteyaki is a shop I have been relying on for a long time. The cost performance is good! The speed of serving dishes and drinks is quick. The customer service is also good, so I recommend it. It seems to be a popular choice for casual drinking or small group gatherings. It's an easy place to walk into.

I went to Tennoji for the first time in a while. It was a Sunday afternoon drinking session. I have been here a few times before. It was bustling and almost full on a Sunday afternoon. I sat at the counter and ordered a bottle of beer. I also ordered bonito tataki and oden (thick fried tofu, egg, potato) as snacks. The oden and bonito tataki were served promptly. It seems like the bonito was prepared in advance. The oden broth had a nice flavor, especially the thick fried tofu was cooked just right and delicious. The bonito was also decent in taste. I switched to a highball after the beer. I added fried sardines with plum paste. This dish was a bit fishy and didn't look very appetizing. That's all for today.

I had some errands to run at Kintetsu Department Store Abeno, and before that, I was looking forward to enjoying some daytime drinking and eating Oden at Masamune-ya! They only serve Oden during the winter season, so I always make sure to order it when I visit. Here are the dishes I tried: - Oden: I ordered the tendon (beef sinew), potatoes, and eggs with an extra serving of tendon and thick fried tofu. The broth may seem light at first, but it's packed with flavor. The tendon was not too tough or too soft, with a chewy texture that allowed the flavors to seep in beautifully. - Fried cartilage: A plate full of fried cartilage for only 360 yen. It was so much that I couldn't finish it on my own. - Squid legs tempura: Delicate and thin squid legs fried in a soft tempura batter, served with tempura sauce, salt, and pepper. They were so tender and disappeared in no time. - Highball: I had two highballs for 2000 yen and got change back. There were many options for side dishes, so everyone was pondering what to order while enjoying the current dishes. Perhaps due to the influence of COVID-19, the opening time had changed to 12:00 PM. When I arrived at 12:00 PM, the place was already full, but luckily there was one seat available at the counter, so I was able to secure a spot.

After enjoying "Rin" at Meijiya in Abeno via walk, why not enjoy "Nigi" here next♪ The popular pub in Abeno is a large venue where nostalgic songs play. The hall staff, especially the older sister in charge, move efficiently between serving customers and entertaining them, making it all look so effortless! I ordered sweet potato shochu at the counter, and the recommended dishes from the blackboard menu were the eel liver for 430 yen and the nuta for 300 yen, which I love! The kitchen is bustling with activity due to the constant flow of customers coming in and out. The non-smoking trend in most bars nowadays makes this place a true oasis for smokers. The proof is the senior gentleman next to me, holding a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other, a rare sight of a smoking drinker! The preparation of oden at the counter signals the arrival of autumn and the upcoming seasonal menu changes.

[20201017 Visit] First, Kirin Classic. It's delicious. I enjoyed horse sashimi with ginger soy sauce. It had a good texture with little fat, giving a satisfying feeling of eating meat. The grilled saury with salt was a bit lean this year. Saury tastes better when it's a bit chubby, but I guess it can't be helped due to the poor catch this year. [20201118 Visit] On this day, I also had Kirin Classic. I tried the puffer fish tempura, freshly fried and delicious. It goes well with ponzu sauce. The seasonal oyster fry was also freshly fried and had a fragrant aroma. The grilled mackerel was perfect for drinking. I relaxed at the counter seat for about an hour on both days, enjoying a few highballs and potato rocks. The bill came out to around 2500 yen. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

This is a casual izakaya located on the first floor of Abeno Walk in Tennoji. Among the atmospheric drinking spots in Abeno Walk, this particular place stands out as being especially lively. Taking a chance, I entered and found a few empty seats at the counter. However, it was soon last call. Without even a moment to savor the ambiance, I hurriedly ordered a draft beer, horse sashimi, and beef tendon with ponzu sauce. I was told that all sashimi was sold out. The horse sashimi was tender with a good amount of marbling. The beef tendon was refreshing and delicious. I wanted to relax and enjoy my drink, but before I knew it, it was last call. I added a plum wine soda and garlic shoot stir-fry before saying thank you for the meal. It was a bit rushed, but I'm glad I finally got to visit the Masayasu-ya. Now, where should I go next?

In Tennoji, I often go to bars and snack bars for a drink before heading home. As soon as I enter the curtain, I feel like I've traveled back to the Showa era. If you're alone, you'll be seated at the counter and given a menu. I order a highball and it arrives quickly! In the summer, they don't have it, but guess what they do have? Oden!!!! I've been looking forward to this oden. The oden here is incredibly delicious. The meat is thick, the fried tofu is fluffy, and the egg and potatoes are amazing. It arrives quickly and is piping hot. I like to put mustard on the meat and enjoy it. It's so well stewed that it's chewy and full of flavor, making it perfect to go with drinks. I also recommend trying the clam sake steamed dish here. The clams are large, the soup is rich, and it feels invigorating to drink it. The place is always bustling with customers coming in one after another, and it's always popular.

Drinking and walking around with my friend Myrebi-chan at Abeno Bridge~♪ The second place we planned to go to is not open yet, so we decided to visit the nearby Masamune-ya! It's a famous casual izakaya in Osaka, and I've been to the "Sennichimae" branch before. Especially, the castella at the "Aiaibashi" branch is famous! (The top is made with crab miso and the bottom is made with conger eel roe to resemble castella) Kikumasamune - 400 yen, Potato fries - 300 yen (tax included) ← Myrebi's favorite♪ Doteyaki - 390 yen (tax included) The doteyaki had large pieces of meat that were cooked nicely and tender✨ Plum wine on the rocks - 310 yen (tax included), Soda highball - 370 yen (tax included) ← Myrebi likes it. Mairebi and her friend "A-chan's girlfriend" were at a meetup, initially planning to have a classy lunch at a stylish restaurant. However, being lovers of alcohol, they ended up deciding to go for sake. They settled on a course of bar hopping around Tennoji. They started at the renowned okonomiyaki restaurant "Abeton" for jumbo okonomiyaki and beer. Then, they visited a local izakaya called "Masayaya" to wait for another izakaya to open. Mairebi, familiar with the area, led them to this nostalgic and lively establishment. The old-fashioned bar was filled with locals enjoying themselves, adding to the authentic atmosphere. The staff, typical Osaka obachan (middle-aged women), took their orders briskly. Despite being full, Mairebi couldn't resist ordering fries and more drinks. They then moved on to their second stop for a sake toast with Kikumasamune from Kobe, along with potato fries and doteyaki. The night continued with plum wine on the rocks and plum wine soda, leaving Mairebi with a newfound love for plum wine. The night of bar hopping with the two lively ladies was far from over.

This is a popular izakaya called "Shosoya" located in Tennoji, Abeno Walk. The name caught my attention, but the high hurdle made it hard to enter. I decided to give it a try for a late-night drink in Tennoji. When I sat down and tried to order, they said, "We have stopped taking orders for fried food." I was disappointed because I wanted to indulge in fried food for my last meal. Nevertheless, I started with a beer. I chose randomly from the red tags on the menu, and they had a nice retro showcase with dishes like "Tai no ko" and "Fish head stew." However, the dishes seemed to have been microwaved and were a bit disappointing. Overall, it's a decent place for casual eating and drinking, and I'm sure the prices are very affordable.
