This is a mochi shop located within the grounds of Umi Hachimangu Shrine. I visited the shrine for the first time in a while and took a break here afterwards. I tried the famous Koyasumimochi for 130 yen, made with carefully selected red beans from Tokachi. It is a grilled mochi with red bean paste inside. My wife also loves grilled mochi, so I bought some to take home as well. I ordered 6 pieces to take home. The shop is located within the grounds of Umi Hachimangu Shrine. Koyasumochi is delicious (*≧∀≦*) I enjoyed it while it was still hot. The sweetness of the red bean paste is just right. I felt like eating it when passing by Umi Hachimangu Shrine, so I stopped by. I would like to visit again if I pass by the area.

After visiting Umi Hachiman, I stopped by here! Koyasumochi is a type of sweet red bean mochi that is often sold in front of shrines. I had a freshly baked one inside the shop. It was crispy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, with delicious sweet red bean paste! The complimentary hot tea was a nice touch. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited Umi Shrine and enjoyed some delicious taiyaki from my favorite shop, Chikuzen Tai-Shou at the shrine. Now, I must buy some Koyasumimochi from the neighboring Umi Hachimangu Teahouse before leaving. Koyasumimochi is similar to the famous Umegae mochi, with red bean paste inside mochi and then grilled. I bought a pack of 5 and couldn't resist eating one while it was still warm. The hot Koyasumimochi was so delicious. If you eat it inside the shop, you can also enjoy some tea. It was a delightful experience. #UmiShrine #UmiHachimanguShrine #UmiHachimanguTeahouse #Koyasumimochi #sweets #snack #dessert #FukuokaGourmet #Gaso #RamenLoverGaso #Fukuoka #gourmet #sweets #dessert

On January 2nd, I visited various shrines for Hatsumode (first shrine visit of the year). One of the shrines I visited was Umi Shrine in Umi-machi. The shrine grounds were spacious, and there were food stalls set up for the New Year period. Among them, there was a shop selling "Koyamochi" and "Taiyaki". I tried both of them. First, I tried the Koyamochi. You can either take it to go or enjoy it in the seating area inside the shop. After ordering, I waited at my table. They also had hot tea available for self-service, which was nice in the cold weather. Finally, the Koyamochi arrived! It was freshly made, with a crispy outer layer and chewy mochi filled with hot sweet red bean paste inside. The sweetness of the paste was balanced by the mochi, and it was incredibly delicious. Freshly made food is truly amazing. If you visit Umi Shrine, I highly recommend trying the Koyamochi. Thank you for the meal. #UmiShrine #Hatsumode #Koyamochi #ChikuzenTaiShou #koyasumochi #taiyaki #chickengratin #custardcream #recommendation #FukuokaGourmet #FukuokaSweets #sweets #dessert #snack #Gaso #ramenloverGaso #Fukuoka #gourmet #sweets #dessert #taiyaki #mochi

Yesterday was the middle day of the equinoctial week, so I went to visit the graves, but somehow ended up visiting a shrine as well! The main reason was that I wanted to eat ohagi. However, when I went to Umi Hachimangu Shrine, it was a must to try the Koyasumochi. At first glance, it looks similar to Ume gaeshi mochi, but personally, I found that it was not as firm in texture and the mochi part was soft and chewy. It was priced at 150 yen per piece, which had increased. Everything seems to be getting more expensive these days due to the rising cost of ingredients. Sitting on the long bench in front of the shop, enjoying the view of the shrine grounds while eating, was a truly heartwarming experience. Yesterday, I had Koyasumochi at the traditional Japanese confectionery shop, ohagi with sweet bean paste, and small taiyaki from Chikuzen Taiemi. It was a day of indulging in delicious food, and I was so engrossed in eating that I forgot to take photos!

This is a tea shop located on the grounds of Umi Hachimangu Shrine, famous for its safe childbirth prayers. The specialty here is "Koyasumimochi," which is a chewy rice cake filled with plenty of sweet bean paste. You can enjoy it in the shop or take it to go. They also sell frozen versions for souvenirs.

On a rainy day in Fukuoka, I gave up on going far and took a bus to visit Umi Hachimangu Shrine. It is said to be the birthplace of Emperor Ojin. There were several shops inside the shrine grounds, and I decided to try the Koyasumochi shop closest to the main hall. Takeout is available at the front, while payment for eating in is done at the counter inside. The interior is plain, but there is self-service tea available. I ordered a Koyasumochi for 120 yen and waited while drinking tea. The staff brought the item to my table. The hot rice cake with sweet red bean paste was quite large and satisfying. One was enough to fill me up. It was delicious.

When I visited Umi Hachimangu Shrine with my friend, we had previously talked about researching and trying out a restaurant nearby. Next to it, there was a very intriguing flag advertising "Mont Blanc Daifuku", but we were more drawn to the Japanese style, so we decided to go for the Koyasumochi we had planned on. We tried one for 120 yen. Inside the store, there was tea available, so we enjoyed the slightly warm mochi with sweet red bean paste along with hojicha tea in the simple interior. It reminded me of Ume-gaeshi mochi, but no matter what anyone says, it's the famous Koyasumochi of Umi Hachimangu Shrine! With its affordable price, it's a recommended store for a little snack.

A drive with my partner.. The weather was amazing, so we also visited Umi Hachiman for a prayer. Umi Hachiman is known for safe childbirth. I have visited before, both before and after my child was born. That child is now in a distant foreign country.. I pray for their safety. I always only put in 5 yen, but.. On the way back, we stopped by "Koyasu Mochi" along the approach. My partner is saying silly things like what if we have a child... The mochi is like umegae mochi.. It tastes like umegae mochi.. That kind of feeling.
