Before flying to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, make sure to stop by the Asuka Lounge! Access is free for One World Sapphire members or above. The food is decent, but since there will be in-flight meals, it's just right. The miso soup, despite being instant, is surprisingly tasty. However, I accidentally spilled some, but I made sure to clean it up (T . T)

Traveling between Malaysia and Japan round trip, I use Malaysia Airlines. It is a codeshare flight with JAL, so it doesn't matter where you buy your ticket. JAL has business class privileges, making check-in convenient, but it's unclear if Malaysia Airport lounges can be used with this ticket. I have used JAL lounges before, but only used this lounge twice. It is not very large or luxurious, with limited seating and light snacks. I used to complain about the lack of variety in JAL lounges, but now I appreciate them more. It's nice to be able to charge my devices while sitting on the sofa. Traveling between Kansai Airport and Malaysia is surprisingly far and inconvenient compared to Tokyo (Narita & Haneda). I hope there can be improvements in the future.

I used United Airlines when heading to San Francisco. I am in Economy class but I am a UA Premium Gold holder. I was able to bring one companion with me into the lounge. The lounge felt spacious compared to the ANA lounge. They had cold soba, red rice, and inari sushi, which were great options before heading overseas. They also had a good selection of alcoholic beverages, including draft beer. The desserts were delicious too.

This is a lounge at Kansai Airport used by several airlines like Delta, United, Malaysia Airlines, and even Lufthansa. I don't use it often, maybe once a year, but it's a nice place to spend time before boarding. I grabbed a light snack this time since I had a rushed morning. There are plenty of food options, but I tried to resist the temptation to eat too much. I usually get drawn to alcohol, but I stuck to soft drinks this time since I'll be drinking on the plane. I stayed for about 40 minutes before departure. I wonder if I'll be able to use it again next year?

Tonight, I have to fly to the "mysterious country," but I'm a bit worried about the timing of the express train and flight due to the typhoon. Because of this situation, I arrived at Kansai International Airport too early, so I decided to relax at the Asuka Lounge in the first terminal. This is a shared lounge for various airlines. I entered the lounge alone about 2 hours before my boarding time. I will meet my colleague at the check-in counter... because carrying heavy luggage is too tiring (laughs), so let's meet here. (I'm cold-hearted) Beer, Super Dry and Premium Malt are all-you-can-drink. There are also various other options like whiskey, wine, and soft drinks. As for food... it's a bit lacking in luxury. There are bread, inari sushi, cheese, ham, and sweets... there are various options, but it lacks a "luxurious feeling." It's similar to the Priority Pass lounge I visited at another airport before. This small roll cake is delicious though. But I ended up drinking 4 beers in a row! ...I'm satisfied with just the all-you-can-drink. I shouldn't be too greedy. I planned to save some room for the "luxurious" in-flight meal, but I ended up eating a bit too much (laughs). Oh, the "mysterious country" is outside the Tabelog area unlike Asia or America, so I will take a break from reviewing starting tomorrow.

I decided to relax in the lounge as it was already late at night and all the restaurants were closed. Since it was late at night, the lounge was empty. A few overseas guests were using the semi-private room at the back of the lounge. I requested them to keep their voices down. I had a light meal of inari sushi, udon, and some snacks as there were limited food options available. The taste was decent. I ended my meal with a cup of coffee while taking my time. I was doing some work on my PC, but the Wi-Fi signal was weak. I should have rented a modem for better connectivity.

I am at Kansai Airport. I am about to fly to Frankfurt using Lufthansa Airlines. For breakfast, I had pumpkin soup, salad, and Perrier. The variety of dishes was limited and the taste was just okay (laughs). Since it's free, I can't complain. It's sunny outside! Off I go~!

International airline lounge at Kansai Airport. This Silver Week, I am traveling to Croatia and Slovenia, and currently in Ljubljana, Slovenia, suffering from jet lag (lol). I am using the hotel's Wi-Fi early in the morning to write this review. I used this lounge yesterday morning as I flew through Kansai Airport with Finnair. Compared to the JAL and ANA lounges in Narita, this lounge honestly left a bit of a shabby impression. I had a cappuccino and miso soup. The food options were limited to rice balls, red rice, Genji pie, and snacks like rice crackers, all carb-heavy or store-bought snacks, so I just stuck with drinks, thinking about the in-flight meal later. Well, I can't really complain. From the lounge, I could see a Thai Airways plane right in front of me. I flew with Finnair, and the boarding gate was just a few minutes walk from here. Croatia and Slovenia are not covered on the overseas version of Tabelog, so I probably won't be accessing Tabelog for about a week. Have a great holiday, everyone.

In August 2016, I went to Sweden for a birthday party of a business associate. We used this lounge as a business class lounge for Finnair. Several airlines use this lounge, including those in the JAL and ANA airline groups. I found the lounge to be compact but with sufficient breakfast options during my visit. They even had soba noodles, which felt very Japanese. I was happy to see sandwiches, onigiri, and red rice balls available. Finnair uses Marimekko for all their equipment, which adds a cute and stylish touch.
