This is a traditional Japanese sweets shop in Fukuoka. I have always loved their daifuku with fruit, so whenever I visit Fukuoka, I make sure to buy some to take home. Today, I couldn't wait and had it as dessert in my hotel! It was delicious as always! I'm looking forward to trying their other daifuku next time. Thank you for the meal!

"After visiting the flagship store of 'Nyuusouan' and returning to Hakata, I discovered two more stores lined up. How many stores are there in total? I purchased 'Hitotsu Kuri' for 260 yen, a seasonal product for autumn and winter. True to its name, it contains one large and beautiful chestnut, which really stands out. While Kyoto is known for its traditional Japanese sweets, I used to think that Kokudou in Kitakyushu was also delicious, but Hakata truly lives up to its reputation."

I visited the souvenir shop at the vast Fukuoka Station and tried the "Original Ofuku Daifuku" for takeout. The fluffy daifuku is filled with sweet red bean paste, which is evident even just by touching the packaging. It paired very well with coffee.

In September 2020, a friend who visited Fukuoka brought me a gift from "Gozan Yonsen Jousuisoan" at Hakata Deitos, called "Chikushi Mochi". It cost 890 yen for a pack of 6. It is a small mochi covered in soybean flour and topped with black honey, similar to Yamanashi's "Kikyo Shingen Mochi". The mochi is made from "Hiyoku rice" from Chikushi Plain, using high-quality water. I tried it at home and it was delicious. Although I'm not a big fan of soybean flour, the black honey on top balanced it out nicely. The mochi was small and soft, making it easy to eat. It had been a while since I last had it, but it was really tasty! Thank you for the treat.

I wandered around looking for souvenirs at Hakata Station. I bought some sweets for my colleagues and family who were staying at home. I purchased a box of 4 persimmon daifuku for 630 yen at Josui-an for my family. I don't usually eat sweets, so I wasn't sure, but it was a new product and I had a feeling it would be good, so I bought it. When we ate it at home, it was delicious. There were dried persimmons inside the mochi with just the right amount of sweetness. It was a taste that we don't often have in our local area. I was relieved that everyone enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal!

I received a travel souvenir, which was a strawberry daifuku. I know what that is, but I wonder how it will taste with anko and mochi. I opened the box cautiously and found a small daifuku-like treat, which made me feel a bit relieved. Inside, there was apparently a cherry tomato, peeking through and looking delicious. There was a warning that the tomato might splatter when eaten, so I'll make sure to cut it into two pieces. The cross-section is quite interesting, with a tomato inside. The outside has a layer of white bean paste wrapped in thin mochi. It tasted refreshing and juicy, with a surprisingly pleasant sweetness. I enjoyed the taste, especially since I love tomatoes. It's a unique and creative idea to combine mochi with a tomato filling. It seems like the developers put in a lot of effort to come up with this interesting treat.

I received a gift from a friend in Hakata, and this shop is often seen on the packaging. I have tried their strawberry daifuku before, but this time I tried their persimmon daifuku for the first time. The packaging is simple and lovely. The persimmon daifuku had a gentle sweetness that was very soothing. The filling had chopped dried persimmons, which added a unique flavor. It was a delightful treat, especially when enjoyed with a warm cup of tea. I am grateful for this wonderful gift.

I came to JR Hakata Station to buy souvenirs. Aiming is under renovation and will reopen in December, so I bought souvenirs at Deitos. I wonder how many years it has been since I came to Hakata by Shinkansen. Come to think of it, when I came to Hakata as a student union director in college, I have a memory of buying a Hakata doll that looked a lot like a junior female student as a souvenir at a Hakata doll shop in Aiming. It has a long history. Joshuan is famous for Chikushimochi, and when I lived in Fukuoka, I used to buy it even after returning to Kobe on business trips. This time, I was attracted to the grape daifuku and came here. 4 grape daifuku for 780 yen (tax included), which takes more than 2 hours, so I also added a cooling bag set for 103 yen. I ate it at home, and from the fluffy mochi, plenty of grape juice emerges. It's fresh and delicious. The juice is about to burst out with a splash. It's a definite addition to Joshuan's souvenir list following Chikushimochi. Definitely give it a try. 2015.9.26

After a business trip to Hakata, I had ramen at the Daimyo shopping arcade in front of the station. I saw a shop and wondered what souvenir to get. The shop was called "Nyozui-an," named after Kuroda Nyozui. They had various sweets, but unfortunately, I didn't have much time before my flight. I decided to pick one as a souvenir. The one I chose was called "Tottoto," which had a unique and cute name. It's a local Hakata sweet, easy to remember. The taste was simple yet delicious, with a nice sweet potato flavor.

At the Like Water An at Hakata Station Daimaru, I was looking for souvenirs. Since I always buy fruit daifuku, which was "persimmon," I decided to look for something else. I tried the Hakata Yokaimo Tottoto (3 pieces for 260 yen) and it was delicious. The package is shiny and colorful. It has a subtle sweetness and a rich, simple flavor of sweet potatoes that warms the heart. "Tottoto" means "to secure" in Hakata dialect. It's a delicious treat that you'll want to secure for yourself. It's a new taste of Hakata, isn't it?

I came to Hakata Station and was browsing for souvenirs. Oh, look, they have tomato daifuku! It has a slight acidity mixed with sweetness, lots of umami flavors, and a chewy texture that is just amazing. It was so delicious that I decided to buy it. I thought this unique tomato daifuku would make a great gift, but I also considered that some people may not like tomatoes, so I bought a small amount. Encountering this traditional Japanese sweet at Hakata Station once again made me realize how impressed I am by its texture.

While wandering around Hakata Station looking for souvenirs, my wife couldn't resist the temptation of trying out some samples at a shop called Goju-Ni Man-Goku Josui-An in Hakata Station Deitos. The shop had a long-standing reputation, so we had high expectations when we went inside. The mochi they offered was different from the Chikushi mochi or kuzumochi we were used to - it was a bit firmer and coated with kinako powder, which my wife loves. It tasted delicious with black syrup drizzled on top. We decided to get some as a souvenir for my wife's workplace. Normally, we would buy souvenirs for both her workplace and mine, but since we don't come to Hakata often, I wanted to get a variety of items. The image I had of Hakata in the past was of construction everywhere, but this time, everything looked clean and finished. My only complaint would be that the walkways could be wider - Hakata Station is always crowded and it can be difficult to navigate.

I was curious about it, but unfortunately I couldn't use it because of bad timing. Please don't expect too much when you see the photos. It doesn't look great from what I've seen so far. It's a small tea room next to the Japanese confectionery shop Jozenan, so there are sometimes cardboard boxes stacked next to it. Also, the number of staff is limited, so they may be a bit neglectful in serving you properly. I understand, but I can't recommend this place. It is located on the left side outside Hakata Station Chikushi Exit (Shinkansen Exit). Jozenan has two locations inside Hakata Station, but the tea room is only here. The two shops are independent, so if the item you want is sold out at one, it may still be available at the other even near closing time. The menu is as shown in the photos, and I ordered the Ogura Shiratama. It seems like the product is just served in a bowl as it is. The Shiratama also seems to be slightly misshapen. Well, the taste is not bad though. I asked at the time of payment, and they said that other sweets displayed in the store are also available for order. Also, if you have the Jozenan Enjoy Card, you get a 5% discount (including the tea room). This card is a bit different from other stores, as it is for the person and their family, with three slots. The other two slots are about a third of a regular card and can be attached to a key holder, so they are relatively easy to carry around. The membership fee is 500 yen, but if you apply through the internet or the toll-free number, the membership fee is free. It may be better to apply from there. However, if you apply directly from the official store, you may receive seasonal sweet notifications, and sometimes you may even get a voucher for three pieces of Chikushi Mochi for free, so I don't think you'll lose out by paying 500 yen.

I received a notification about a special offer at Ryusui-an where I could get a 300 yen gift voucher for purchasing 1,000 yen worth of sweets (500 yen for members). I decided to visit the shop and found they were selling seasonal tomato daifuku. I tried a sample and the combination of white bean paste and small tomato with a hint of acidity was simply delicious. I ended up buying some for myself and as a souvenir.

In the Hakata era, when asked what to bring as a gift when there is a performance near Hakata Station, my answer would be the Tsukishima mochi from here. It may be selfish of me, but it's definitely better than struggling to decide what to bring. I've been in the same position before, so I understand. And in the end, I stopped being asked (laughs). When it comes to Hakata souvenirs, other stores' products may come to mind, but when it comes to the number one souvenir sweet, it has to be from here. This deliciousness never wavers. Good things are good things. And good things will never run out. Why not promote it more as a Hakata souvenir, everyone?

Here, there are daifuku desserts made with seasonal fruits like strawberries, grapes, and loquats. Each one is surprisingly delicious. Since they are seasonal items, it makes them even more enjoyable. The prices are not too high, making them a convenient souvenir option.
