Located along the Shima Sunset Road in Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is the "Itoshima LONDONBUS CAFE," a cafe renovated from a bus born in 1950. The cafe opened in October 2014. The bus used for the cafe is an authentic bus that actually ran in England, and on the second floor inside, you can enjoy gelato and hot dogs while overlooking the sea. Itoshima is known for its picturesque spots and trendy shops, and this cafe is often featured as one of its representative establishments. I was particularly interested in trying their gelato, so I decided to visit for a sweet treat after lunch. I visited the cafe on a Friday afternoon around 1:30 pm. Besides the bus, there are also terrace seats available, offering beautiful views, although it was quite cloudy and dark on the day of my visit. I placed my order, paid, and received my items at the adjacent shop before moving to the bus, where a sign indicated that only up to 9 people could enter. Since there were only two of us at the time, we decided to enjoy our treats inside the bus. The gelato menu boasts over 40 flavors annually, but on the day of my visit, there were 10 flavors available. A single scoop costs 500 yen, while a double scoop costs 550 yen, with an additional 50 yen for premium flavors. I opted for a double scoop of "Pine Mix" and "Vanilla," and another double scoop of "Raspberry & Apricot" and "Lemon Milk." The Vanilla had a slightly brownish color and a rich, flavorful taste of vanilla. The Pine Mix had a fruity and tropical flavor with a hint of acidity and some fruit pulp mixed in. The Lemon Milk was light and creamy, with a gentle citrusy flavor. The Raspberry & Apricot was intensely sweet and sour, exceeding my expectations. My preference ranking from top to bottom was Vanilla, Pine Mix, Raspberry & Apricot, and Lemon Milk. Across the street, there was a trendy vintage clothing store that seemed to share the LONDONBUS CAFE brand. I would love to visit again on a sunny day. Checking the cafe's Instagram, I saw that the hot dog set comes in a cute bus-shaped box, so I look forward to trying it with a different gelato flavor next time. Thank you for the delicious treats!

In front of a magnificent view, enjoying the best hot dogs and potatoes. Honestly, I had low expectations for touristy spots like this, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hot dog was freshly made, with a crispy sausage that perfectly complemented the texture of the bun. It was delicious. The potatoes were fried to perfection, crunchy like potato chips. They were also fantastic. I didn't include a photo, but the gelato was also really tasty, making this place perfect for dates or family outings.

The fact that there is parking right in front of the shop is convenient for those who are sightseeing by car. There are seats on the second floor of the bus, and the air conditioning works well, so even in this season, you can enjoy delicious gelato comfortably. I was tired from riding a scooter around, so I decided to cool down with some gelato on a dessert London bus. There were various food and drink options, as well as merchandise for sale, so I had a hard time deciding. I ended up choosing a double scoop of almond fruit and pistachio gelato on the second floor of the London bus while enjoying the cool air. It was incredibly delicious. They also had stylish radios on display. If I visit Itoshima again, I definitely want to go back for more. It was convenient to use PayPay, and I actually won a few yen worth of points in a third prize drawing. The staff congratulated me, which was a nice touch.

After having lunch, I decided to go to London Bus Cafe for dessert. It's a popular spot on Instagram and even though there was a line, they serve gelato so the turnover is quick. They offer a variety of gelato flavors including ones made with salt from Itoshima and lemons from Fukuoka. I couldn't decide, but ended up choosing a double scoop of Itoshima salt and Raspberry & Apricot. The Itoshima salt gelato was made with a milk base, giving it a delicious sweet and salty flavor. The gelato looked great against the blue sea and red London bus for a perfect Instagram shot. It was a great meal, thank you!

The gelato had flavors like pumpkin for Halloween season and a salt flavor exclusive to Itoshima, which was different and interesting compared to gelato in the city! It was not crowded on weekdays, and the seats with a beautiful view of the sea were lovely!
