I purchased souvenirs at "Joshuan Hakata Station Front Store" near Hakata Station. The inside of the daifuku is filled with seedless Pione grapes, which have an indescribable deliciousness. You can eat many of these! This kind of fruit daifuku is a blissful deliciousness. I bought a set of 6 as a souvenir. It's a bit pricey at over 1700 yen, but the taste is unbeatable.

I had the opportunity to enjoy some really good food again. It seems to be a famous shop in the Hakata area. I love fruits, sweets, Japanese sweets, and mochi, so I also love fruit daifuku. Soft and slightly sweet mochi covered in kinako, placed in a square case. On top of that, there is a separate container of black syrup that you can pour on top as you eat. Yes, just like the famous Yamanashi sweet, Shingen mochi. I recently had Shingen mochi as well, so I can't help but compare the two. The mochi itself is sweeter in Shingen mochi, and the size of the mochi is also larger. The kinako in the Chikushi mochi seems to be more delicate and refined, with a different kind of elegance. They use kinako made from a rare type of soybean called "Tamahomare," which accounts for only 0.5% of soybean harvest in Japan. This soybean has a high sugar content, resulting in a very smooth and fragrant kinako. The black syrup in both is delicious, but the Shingen mochi has a thicker and sweeter texture compared to the lighter one in Chikushi mochi. Both are delicious. When asked which one has a more sophisticated flavor, I would say it's the Chikushi mochi. Even my mochi-loving child, Chibisuke, enjoys both equally. I always make sure to buy Chikushi mochi when I visit Fukuoka. It's a wonderful local delicacy that Fukuoka takes pride in. If you come across it, be sure to give it a try!

I received grape daifuku as a souvenir the other day, and when I took a bite, I was amazed by how delicious it was! I love fruit daifuku, so when I saw salted tomato daifuku, I couldn't help but be curious and ended up buying it. This time, I only bought one salted tomato daifuku. I'm going to try it right away, but it's a bit sour. Also, the tomato is a bit hard, so the texture is kind of off. I'm not sure if the white bean paste and tomato go well together... it's not really to my taste, so I was a little disappointed. However, it's not bad tasting, it's just a matter of personal preference.

On the way from Hakata Station to Tochoji Temple, I was captivated by the colorful fruit daifuku displayed in the storefront window. They looked beautiful. Although Tsukushi mochi is famous here, it looked very similar to the usual mochi, so after some hesitation, I decided to purchase one Cream Cheese (Rum Raisin) daifuku for 616 yen including tax. I enjoyed it while admiring the magnificent decorative Yamakasa at Kushida Shrine. The mochi skin was thin, and it gently wrapped around plenty of rum raisins mixed with white bean paste. It was a new flavor experience. Store in temperatures below 10°C and consume it on the same day as the expiration date is limited.

When you go to Fukuoka, be sure to purchase the "Chikushi Mochi" from Ryusuien. It has a good balance of black honey and yellow powder, with an elegant sweetness that is perfect for sharing as a souvenir at work. The wrapping paper is made of Japanese paper and looks elegant and lovely. I often buy it because it makes people happy. Highly recommended.

This is the main store of the long-established Fukuoka confectionery "Nyosui-an" located along the Oohiru River. On this day, after a meeting at the Nikko Hotel, I visited this shop next door. The shop had a variety of traditional Japanese sweets, including the famous Chikushi mochi from Nyosui-an. My main purpose that day was to buy the "Ofuku Mochi," a fruit daifuku sold at the station front store. I bought three of them to take home. Unfortunately, before I could take a picture, my wife had already eaten the strawberry one (659 yen)... (tears). I also bought a Nashi pear one for 756 yen, which had a rich sweetness and smooth texture. And a cheese cream one for 616 yen, a creative daifuku from Nyosui-an made with rum raisins and cream cheese white bean paste. The store is located along Oohiru River, next to Hotel Nikko Fukuoka. The large store has a wide variety of products. The recently renovated interior is bright and beautiful. I heard that their signature product is Chikushi mochi. They also seem to focus on their fruit daifuku called "Ofuku Daifuku". Although they are beautifully handmade, they are quite pricey like cakes. Since it was my first time, I decided to choose a more affordable snack. I picked a dorayaki named "Nihon-go". It is based on a story where the mother of the samurai Morisato Tahei drank a large cup of sake and received the famous spear "Nihon-go" from Fukushima Masanori. The dorayaki had a moist skin and sweet bean paste, and it was delicious. Later, I realized that Kuroda Kanbei also used the name "Joshu". That was the name of this store. It seems to have a connection to the Kuroda clan. I also tried the persimmon daifuku. It had dried persimmons mixed in, giving it a persimmon color and flavor. The sweet bean paste was made with hand-picked beans. It was an unusual daifuku, but the taste was average. I might try the Ofuku Daifuku next time.

Memo: Strawberry Daifuku Visited with a friend and decided to try the strawberry daifuku for 659 yen. It looked delicious so I couldn't resist. I received a great gift, I'm really happy. It's the Chikushi Mochi from Nyosui-an, which I've always liked but just found out how to read the name. When I opened it, there was not only Chikushi Mochi but also Monaka inside. I quickly brewed some coffee and tried the Chikushi Mochi. It may create more dishes to wash, but I'll set them out and take a photo. Hmm, I'm not good at taking pictures. The wrapping paper of Chikushi Mochi tore a bit, revealing these tiny pieces. Each piece is individually wrapped, with a small stick for eating. I drizzled black syrup-like sauce on the Chikushi Mochi. The black syrup and soybean flour don't mix, but it tastes delicious. How much is this worth? The Chikushi Mochi alone is 12 pieces for 2052 yen. Adding the Monaka, maybe around 3000 yen. Well, that's fine. It seems cheap considering how incredibly delicious the Chikushi Mochi is.

I had been curious about the daifuku at this shop. On this day, I purchased kiwi, melon, and strawberry flavors. I ended up with the kiwi one (the others were already eaten by my family so I couldn't take a photo). Even though I'm not very skilled, I managed to cut it neatly. When I lifted it up, it was so soft! I took a bite and it was incredibly soft with just the right amount of sweetness from the white bean paste. What stood out the most was the ripe kiwi, which was incredibly sweet and delicious! It was so big that I wondered if I could finish it, but I got so engrossed in eating it. I highly recommend the kiwi flavor! I would love to try the other flavors too.

I visited Nyosui-an in search of Salted Tomato Daifuku. It was about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station. The Salted Tomato Daifuku has a short shelf life, so I bought some for home. I tried one at the hotel. The juicy and sweet tomato combined with the mochi was amazing! I'm hooked. You can also buy them at Hakata Station. They also had Lemon Daifuku besides the Salted Tomato Daifuku. Highly recommended for those who want to try a new type of daifuku.

I purchased a fruit daifuku at Hakata Station, and it was said to have larger fruits compared to those in Tokyo. Although the price was high, the size of the fruits was satisfying. This is a souvenir I bought for myself when I visited Fukuoka the other day. Last time I bought Chikumochi and it disappeared before I knew it. It seems there are various ways to eat it, but in my case, I take one out and eat it with black honey drizzled on top. I guess I'm a fan of eating it with black honey. Thank you for the meal.

This is the best strawberry daifuku. There is a fruit daifuku brand called "Ofuku" in Nyosui-an, and I had their strawberry daifuku. It cost around 600 yen each. I was impressed the moment I tasted it, and I could feel the great attention to detail. I recommended it to my friends in Nagoya, and they also loved it.

I love the wagashi shop Nyozen-an the most. Every product is incredibly delicious and it always amazes me. I especially love the strawberry daifuku and the fresh wagashi. I also like their hitoshina, but their baked goods like dorayaki are just okay, similar to other wagashi shops.

When I went to Hakata Station, I found and bought a fruit daifuku. This time, I bought the strawberry flavor. Even one piece is quite large, so it seems satisfying to eat. I will cut it in half with a knife before eating. The large strawberry is juicy, and the white bean paste on the outside is moderately sweet and delicious. It's close to Hakata Station and has an impressive appearance. I bought it as a souvenir for my family on a business trip to Fukuoka. Each fruit wrapped in daifuku looked like it was made in the store, with some still being prepared depending on the time. The strawberries looked delicious, so I got one for myself! When gently cut with a string, the juicy red strawberry spreads its aroma! Around the strawberry is white bean paste, topped with a soft daifuku. It wasn't as sweet as I thought, and I could really taste the acidity of the strawberry. It would go well with black tea rather than green tea. It was delicious, although a bit expensive, so I couldn't buy a lot. The staff were all polite and I was able to choose slowly without feeling rushed. There are also various other sweets available, making it suitable for everyday use or as a gift.

My husband brought back a souvenir from his business trip to Fukuoka. It's the Hakata Yokaimoto from Joyoan. This sweet potato snack is delicious and the packaging is stylish. It's my first time trying it. It's small in size, which I find a bit disappointing. I wish it was bigger even if it meant being more expensive.
