This is a set of half a hairy crab and sea urchin seafood bowl. The hairy crab is cut by the staff with scissors for easy eating. The seafood bowl has very large toppings, a splendid seafood bowl that you don't see often in Tokyo. It includes sea urchin, salmon roe, tuna, scallop, salmon, sweet shrimp, shellfish, and egg. It comes with scallop salted innards, seaweed tsukudani, and seaweed miso soup. You can also purchase the delicious items at the attached seafood sales area.

For lunch on this day, I enjoyed a meal at this restaurant overlooking the world heritage site of the Shiretoko Peninsula, facing the Sea of Okhotsk. (It was my first time seeing the Sea of Okhotsk in my 60+ years of life) When I took my seat, I was surprised by the view of the dishes. The first thing that caught my eye was half a hairy crab. I rarely eat hairy crabs, so even half of one made me happy. When I lifted the lid of the pot, there were two king crab legs with convenient cuts for easy eating. And on top of the rice, there was a generous amount of shredded snow crab meat. Everyone was busy tackling the hairy crab, so the lunch venue fell silent. Although there was not much to eat from the small hairy crab, the sweetness was outstanding. And the most delicious part for me was the rice topped with crab flakes. It had a taste that made me think "this is enough on its own." When I think of crab flakes, I usually think of a little bit on top of Chinese Tianjin rice, but I thought it was wonderful as a main dish as well. I didn't have time to leisurely gaze at the Sea of Okhotsk because I was struggling with the hairy crab, but I was able to take a commemorative photo.

On October 21, 2019 (Monday) at 12:20 (according to the receipt), I came to this shop after a meal. They were offering a generous serving of crab for tasting! The king crab was delicious. I wanted to buy some, but I had to resist since the journey continues. They also had various chocolate souvenirs, and I particularly liked the "Yubari Melon White Chocolate" for 600 yen. I tried a sample and the melon aroma was really nice. I bought it as a souvenir.

Seafood shop located in Abashiri City, Hokkaido. Visited for lunch during a Hokkaido tour. The shop has a large dining area combined with a souvenir shop, commonly used by bus tours. Right in front of the shop is the Okhotsk Sea. The menu was predetermined for the tour, so I had a seafood bowl. [Seafood Bowl] The ingredients included tuna, scallops, salmon, yellowtail, sea urchin, squid, octopus, salmon roe, and botan shrimp. The freshness was evident, making it delicious. Especially the scallops and shrimp had a nice firm texture. The shop also has a variety of souvenirs. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing sightseeing at the Shiretoko Five Lakes and heading towards the Notsuke Peninsula, we had lunch at this restaurant. We ordered the "Taraba Crab Half Body with Taraba Hot Pot" menu. The Taraba crab was not a full body, but it still had plenty of meat to enjoy. The staff skillfully prepared the crab, allowing us to eat even the leg parts. The flavor of the crab was rich and filled our mouths with delight. The hot pot included not only Taraba crab legs but also a large scallop with plump meat. The taste of the hot pot was quite impressive. The highlight was the crab meat piled generously on top of the rice, topped with shredded egg. This crab meat rice was incredibly delicious, beyond words. After the meal, we visited the adjacent seafood and souvenir shop. The meal was so delicious that not only me but also my companions shopped enthusiastically for seafood and snacks. There were samples like melon chocolate available too. The staff seemed to have hoped we would buy more crab, but they were probably satisfied with the good sales of souvenirs. When the meal is satisfying and there are samples available, it's easy to end up buying a lot of souvenirs. Indeed, this restaurant knows how to do business well.

Welcome.---------- February 2018 ----------A warehouse-like building attached to Maru Suisan |o| °д°)ノHelloInside the huge warehouse, there are various souvenirs, with snow crabs being the main attraction. The place is filled with seafood and various delicacies, almost all available for sampling. Tourists are seen enjoying the different flavors one by one. Besides crabs, there are also salmon roe and cod roe available. The variety of delicacies is amazing, and after trying them all, you are sure to find your favorite. Tom's favorite was the salted cod roe, it was moist, tender, and had a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness.

On the 3rd day of the Tohoku bus trip, we visited this seafood restaurant for lunch, where fresh king crab and hairy crab are the main attractions. The seasonal seafood available for sale looked tempting. After enjoying the delicious "3-color bento" on the 2nd day, I had high hopes for the seafood bowl I was about to eat. I wonder how many types of seafood are lined up on the rice - botan shrimp, surf clam, sea bream, squid, salmon, scallop, tuna, and maybe even salmon roe. The seafood might outweigh the rice itself. In addition to the seafood bowl, it came with miso soup, pickled whelk, and seasoned seaweed. After tasting this seafood bowl, I might feel lonely when I encounter other seafood bowls in the future. The freshness, volume, variety of sashimi - everything was perfect. It was a feast.

Bus tour in the morning enjoying Shiretoko Five Lakes and more. I had heard that lunch that day would be a bento box, but I didn't expect such a luxurious, heavy, three-color bento box filled with delicious northern delicacies. The perfectly seasoned "grilled salmon" was incredibly tasty even though it wasn't freshly cooked, and the fresh salmon roe was of top quality with no complaints. The scallops simmered in a sweet and savory sauce also had a strong presence, truly showcasing the bounty of Hokkaido. The bento box from Irumaru Suisan was outstanding.
