Today's lunch was at "Hikariya Shokudo" in Emisumachi. I was tempted by the daily special "beef tataki bowl", but I ended up choosing the "Hikariya set meal". This set meal includes rice (same price for large, medium, or small), miso soup, and pickles, and you can choose 2 side dishes from about 15 options to go with it. Today, I chose the tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) and stir-fried bean sprouts. It wasn't exceptionally delicious, but at 650 yen, it was quite reasonable. Thank you for the meal.

Since last night, for some reason, I've been craving curry. After discussing with my colleagues, we decided against going to a curry specialty shop and instead opted for a soba restaurant to try their curry soba. Unfortunately, the first place we went to, Maruei, was closed, so we ended up at Hikariya Shokudo as our next choice. I can't say if it's good or bad, but I want to support all the shops that are working hard. Today, I visited "Hikariya Shokudo" and had the daily special A, "Beef Stamina Yaki set meal." It came with beef stamina yaki, a side salad of spinach, tomato, and broccoli, a hearty miso soup, and plenty of rice. The beef was well-seasoned and the rice was delicious. I left feeling full. For lunch in Emisucho, I had a set meal, and for dinner, I went to the izakaya "Hikariya". I ordered the "Hikariya Freestyle Set Meal", which comes with 2 side dishes of your choice, rice, and miso soup. I chose Chicken Nanban and Stir-Fried Bean Sprouts for my sides! The Chicken Nanban had a rich flavor that went well with the rice. The Stir-Fried Bean Sprouts had a nice crunchy texture. It was a delicious meal.

I felt like having curry, so I went to "Hikariya" for lunch. They serve a curry with three small cutlets on top, which has a homemade taste to it. The potato salad was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The meeting ran late, so I decided to quickly grab lunch at Hikariya. I love their two-item set meal, but I wanted something fast, so I ordered the curry. I always go to Dotcom for lunch, and today I was able to get in easily. The fried chicken and natto were delicious, and adding the egg roll was a great choice. It was tasty! (￣∇￣)

While wandering around the Emi-Sumachi area near the Sakaisuji Line subway station, I stumbled upon a small restaurant with an Asahi beer lantern hanging outside. Intrigued by the cozy atmosphere, I decided to check it out. The menu was extensive, offering a variety of dishes ranging from light snacks to more substantial meals. I ordered a draft beer and enjoyed some dishes like dried fish with grated radish and seared cucumber. The crab and cucumber vinegar from Tottori and the recommended Yukke were also delicious. The potato fries and pan-fried dumplings paired well with the spicy beer. Overall, the food was satisfying and the restaurant, Hikariya Shokudo, is a great place to find a variety of dishes to suit your mood.

Today, the weather has turned nice after the spring rain we had until yesterday. I went outside and came to a nearby set meal restaurant called Hikariya Shokudo. I had noticed it last month and was curious about it, but they were in the middle of a renovation. I arrived at 11:30 and they were already open. I went inside immediately. There was a long counter and a narrow tatami seating area at the back. It's a cozy little restaurant like an eel's sleeping place. I decided to go with their recommended Hikariya set meal, where you can choose two dishes from a variety of side dishes. There were options like one-bite cutlet, fried chicken, udon, soba, tofu, tamagoyaki, bean sprout stir-fry, natto, white fish fry, simmered fish, croquette, grilled fish, and chicken nanban. It was a tough choice, but I couldn't pass on the tamagoyaki as I love it. For the second dish, I chose fried chicken. Lately, I seem to be having a lot of fried chicken. I also ordered tamagoyaki. A young man was cooking while an elderly woman was serving. The set meal arrived. The fried chicken was the usual type, still dripping with oil when hot. It's not my favorite, but it's a good side dish. The tamagoyaki was hot and fluffy. It felt like a home-cooked meal, and that was just fine with me. I enjoyed the combination with rice and miso soup. The rice was firm and plentiful. I was full and satisfied. I would like to try other menu items as well. It was a good local set meal restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I decided to try out "Hikariya Shokudo" after initially planning to go to "Soba-ya Maruei" for a large katsu-don. When I arrived at around 12:10, I found a cozy dining place with a warm atmosphere. The veteran couple who ran the place seated me at a table near the entrance. I ordered the Jumbo Katsu Curry, which was part of their service set menu. The curry had a deep, rich flavor that was well-balanced, and the katsu was large and covered the rice perfectly. The crispy yet light batter of the katsu paired well with the curry, making it a delicious meal. I finished with a cup of tea and left feeling satisfied and happy. The prices were reasonable, the service was polite, and overall, it was a dining experience that made me want to come back again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Grilled salmon. A dish of grilled salmon... well, no need for explanation, it's just delicious food. As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate fish more. I didn't used to enjoy grilled salmon before, but now I even choose to eat it. This time, I visited a new restaurant that serves grilled salmon. It's located near Ebisucho. The area is famous for its electronics shops (though it may have changed now) in the vicinity of Nihonbashi. I had no intention of stopping by, but the sign outside that read "Salmon 650 yen" caught my attention! So, I walked in and found that the main seating area is at the counter, but there are also a couple of table seats. It seems like a place where families can dine as well. Since I always dine alone, I sat at the counter and ordered the Salmon Set Meal. It included grilled salmon, fried tofu, miso soup, pickled radish, and a large serving of rice. The grilled salmon was delicious with its slightly salty seasoning, perfect with the rice. It was so tasty that I couldn't help but devour it quickly. The other side dishes were also well-seasoned and enjoyable. Before I knew it, I had finished my meal and left the restaurant. Overall, it's a good restaurant for casual dining. The prices are reasonable too! If you get the chance, give it a try. I definitely plan to visit again.

Hikariya Shokudo is located on a back street from Nihonbashi to Ebisumachi. Nearby, there is a famous restaurant called "Sobadokoro Maruei" known for its two-layered Katsudon called Grand Cross. Although lunchtime has passed, I decided to have an early dinner as I won't make it until the evening. The entrance has table seating and further inside, there are counter seats. The restaurant can accommodate around 15-16 people. I sat at the counter and ordered today's complimentary dish, which was ginger pork and cold tofu set meal (650 yen). The husband cooks while the wife serves the food. The dishes arrived promptly. The ginger pork looked delicious, but the cold tofu seemed even better. The ginger pork was tasty and light, while the cold tofu had a great texture and a rich soybean flavor. The tofu seemed to be sourced from a tofu shop. It was delicious. With this cold tofu, I could easily enjoy 2-3 cups of sake. The rice and miso soup were also delicious, making me want to try more dishes. Beer is cheap at 200 yen per glass, and all the dishes are delicious so you can't go wrong. It gets crowded with salarymen after work, so it's best to go early. The Hikariya set includes one drink, a sashimi platter, and a choice of tamagoyaki or gyoza for 1000 yen! The sashimi platter is fresh and luxurious... I worry if they are making a profit with such quality... The tamagoyaki is really delicious. Even at night, you can get a set meal for 600 yen. It's a great restaurant and my favorite ♡ Highly recommended!!
