Around mid-November, I was invited by a friend to visit the Chinese stand "Nito" in Higashi-Hie. We parked our car at a nearby coin parking lot and entered the shop while glancing at the signboard advertising tapioca milk tea. The interior of the shop was small but had a nice atmosphere with high ceilings, and the staff were all handsome and cute, typical of a collaboration between Komatsu and Mandarin Market. We had reserved a table at the back for a group of six, and we ordered drinks before toasting. They had a variety of Chinese teas available, and I chose the cold black oolong tea, but they also had warm black oolong tea, Anxi Tie Guan Yin tea, Golden Cassia oolong tea, Jasmine tea, and more. It was nice to have such a wide selection of teas to choose from. We had reserved the Nito Grand Opening Limited Course for 2,500 yen, with an additional 1,500 yen for all-you-can-drink, making it a total of 4,000 yen. The course started with a platter of four appetizers: Hua Wei Chicken, Scallop and Mushroom with Mustard Sauce, Tofu Gan Si and Edamame, and Fried Shrimp. They were all delicious, especially the Hua Wei Chicken with a spicy sauce that paired well with the other dishes. Next, we had two types of dim sum: Steamed Shrimp Dumplings and Sticky Rice Meatballs, both of which were tasty. The steamed pork with garlic sauce was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was delicious. The Hua Wei Chicken Oil Dripping Chicken with Sweet and Sour Sauce was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Stir-Fried Seasonal Vegetables and Shrimp with Salt were simple yet flavorful. The Blueberry Sweet and Sour Pork had a refreshing taste that paired well with the pork. The Spicy Mala Noodles were like a mixed noodle dish with spicy Sichuan-style tofu on top. For dessert, we had almond jelly. We were so impressed by the dishes that we ended up ordering more, including Nito's Chili Shrimp, Nito's Salt Ramen, Five-Ingredient Ankake Fried Rice, and Chinese-style Egg Fried Rice. We also added Chinese buns because we didn't want to waste any of the delicious sauces. The Chili Shrimp came with crispy noodles and a flavorful sauce, while the Chinese buns were soft and slightly sweet. The Salt Ramen was light and flavorful, the Five-Ingredient Ankake Fried Rice was rich and satisfying, and the Egg Fried Rice was fluffy and moist. It was a fantastic dining experience overall.
