The diner opens around 10:30 in the morning, and I often use it for a brunch-like meal. Run by the master, the mistress, and two female staff members, who seem to be a family. They offer a variety of menu items such as rice bowl dishes, set meals, and a la carte dishes, most of which are around one coin. Whatever you order, it is served promptly. The signature menu items are two types of "daily set meals". The daily specials are written on a whiteboard in front of the store. The rice for set meals is free of charge for a large serving. Donburi and noodle dishes can be upgraded to a large serving for an additional ¥150. This time, I ordered the "Miso Champon Large Serving ¥750". The regular serving is ¥600. Miso champon has a mild and rich miso pork bone soup, recommended even for children. It is full of vegetables, and the medium-thick noodles have a good chewy texture. I entered here a little before 12 o'clock on a weekday, and I found myself curious. I thought there were only two customers already inside, but there was also a second floor. For some reason, I really felt like eating katsudon today, so I ordered it. After I entered, more and more customers started coming in. Most people around me seemed to be ordering the daily special or set meals. The katsudon took a little longer because they fry the tonkatsu, but it was still quite fast. The sauce was on the sweeter side, and it soaked into the rice. The rice was a bit on the fluffy side. It came with miso soup and cost 600 yen. Next time, I think I'll try one of the set meals.

The restaurant is located in the Hatoya Shindo shopping street next to the pachinko parlor "Parlor Zone" in the Nishijin Chuo shopping street, tucked away in the back alley. This restaurant has been in business since the post-war period, making it a long-established dining establishment. The interior of the restaurant has counter seats and table seats on the first floor, and sunken table seats on the second floor, with a total of four staff members including the owner managing the place. Most of the menu items are priced from 500 to 600 yen, and even after the tax increase, the voluminous and affordable pricing without price increases is one of the reasons for its popularity! There are two daily specials, with "A set meal 550 yen" being meat and "B set meal 680 yen" being fish. In addition, there are various other set meals such as ramen, champon, yakisoba, plate udon, tonkatsu, fried chicken, hamburger, gyoza, and many more. Last time I had a set meal, so this time I ordered "Miso Champon 600 yen". By the way, the default "champon" is 500 yen - very cheap(^^;) A very hearty miso champon arrived with plenty of ingredients! The ingredients included cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, onions, squid, clams, pork, fish cakes, satsuma-age, snow peas, and more that I could see(^_^) The soup is a rich tonkotsu-based broth with miso, quite rich and on the strong side. This might be a love-it-or-hate-it flavor... Personally, I like it♪ The noodles are standard thickness champon noodles. You can also get a large serving for an additional 150 yen, but the default portion is decent, so I think it's enough for most people. About half of the customers on this day ordered champon. The daily special included sashimi of bream, flounder marinated in miso, fried chicken, mapo eggplant, water dumplings, and salad for 680 yen. The combo set had grilled meat and freshly made croquettes. The food arrived promptly and the restaurant was packed with customers, showing its popularity.
