After finishing work and returning home, my partner was already there with a smirk on his face. I asked if something good had happened, and he pulled out a cake from the fridge. It turns out it's my birthday! Even though it's not really a milestone age to celebrate. Despite being tired from work, he took the time to stop by a cake shop and buy one for me, which made me really happy. I am grateful to my partner. We had a light dinner and enjoyed the cake. This year, we got a cake from Mont Napoleon. The chocolate cake had a rich chocolate topping, soft and decadent. The cake itself had plenty of cream, enveloping the slightly bitter cocoa sponge. I had half of it and then swapped with my partner for the Mont Blanc. The chestnut cream in the Mont Blanc was generous and the balance of chestnut cream, sponge, and cream was perfect, making it very delicious. We also had a small cheesecake, about the size of a koban coin. It was a bite-sized, almost rare cheesecake that was fluffy and moist. The cheese was rich with a hint of saltiness, melting in the mouth. It was also very delicious. I am grateful to my partner for always buying me a cake every year. And I am thankful to Mont Napoleon for consistently providing us with delicious cakes. Thank you for the delicious cakes.

I received a souvenir, which was a baked confectionery, and it was delicious. When I checked on Tabelog, I found out that it was from a long-established fruit shop. Next time, I would like to visit the shop myself and try their fruit cakes. They gave it to me in a cute case, but I'm not sure if it's from the shop so I didn't include it.

My partner gave me a birthday present♬ Since our actual birthdays fall on days when we both have to work late, we celebrated on a day that worked for both of us, with a small but thoughtful celebration. During dinner, my partner told me to save room for dessert, so I ate a little less and waited eagerly in the kotatsu. Soon enough, the cakes arrived - a Mont Blanc and a chocolate cake from Mon Napoleon. I had the Mont Blanc on the day of our celebration. The chestnut cream was not too sweet, allowing the flavor of the chestnut to shine through. The Mont Blanc from Mon Napoleon never disappoints. My partner and I could eat as many as we wanted. The next day, I had the chocolate cake. The cocoa in the dark chocolate was rich and addictive, and the layers of cake and chocolate matched perfectly. It was incredibly delicious. I enjoyed both cakes very much. Mon Napoleon offers a variety of cakes, so I definitely want to try more in the future. I'm curious about the Kururu cake. I'm grateful to my partner for buying these delicious cakes for me. Thank you for the tasty cakes!

My hometown, Yao City in Osaka Prefecture, is a mid-sized city with a population of just under 300,000. In a city of this size, there are usually a few well-known restaurants or sweet shops that have been popular in the community for a long time. When it comes to buying Western-style sweets in this city, one of the top choices is this shop. The exterior covered in ivy indicates that this shop has been in business here for a long time. Their signature large cakes made with plenty of fruit are known for their indescribable sweetness. The sponge cake, cream, and custard are all very sweet, but not in a crude way. It's a solid and true sweetness that embodies the essence of sweets. They don't hold back on the sugar, staying faithful to the traditional way of making sweets. This time, I tried a small melon cake called "Prince Melon" (600 yen) which features a whole melon hollowed out on top of a plate, filled with plenty of custard, whipped cream, and melon flesh. The ripe and juicy sweetness of the melon perfectly complements the sweetness of the custard, creating a delicious harmony. It may not be as refined as pastries from sophisticated urban bakeries, but to me, it's a taste of nostalgia. It may have a slightly rustic charm, but sometimes, a big cake made with plenty of fruit and sugar can be quite delightful.

Received an order from my wife who wanted to eat Mont Blanc, visited the shop. Due to the pandemic, only up to 3 groups were allowed inside. After waiting for about 5 minutes, we were able to enter the shop. They also had various baked goods besides cakes. When we got home, we enjoyed the Mont Blanc, but unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of it (T_T) This time, I will only post pictures of the exterior and the cakes inside the shop. I will definitely share a photo of the cake next time!

While shopping in Yao, I decided to pick up some sweets on the way back. I had heard about a cake shop in Kawachiyamamoto called "Monnappo" from an acquaintance and had saved it as a place I wanted to visit. I was specifically told that their popular "Kururu" was delicious, but unfortunately, it was sold out. It was a little later in the day, and even the affordable cream puffs were sold out. There were still some cakes left, so I bought a shortcake and a two-tone mousse cake. The rich cream and the bitter chocolate aftertaste were good, but I prefer desserts with a bit less sweetness. It wasn't as upscale as I had expected, but more of a cake shop loved by the locals. I had high hopes for a long-established cake shop in Kawachiyamamoto based on other reviews, so it was disappointing that they were sold out. The lackluster and somewhat indifferent service from the staff was a bit off-putting. I wish they would maintain their energy level until the customer leaves the door. With such service, my enthusiasm continued to decline on the way back, and I couldn't give a higher rating in terms of service. Maybe I'll give it another try next time and hope for a better experience.

The taste is truly exceptional. It is not overly sweet and is delicately crafted. I personally enjoy the gentle flavor. I rated the taste a 5.0, but the service was disappointing, so overall I gave it a 4.0. I would consider using Mont Napoleon again for a special occasion. Thank you for the meal.

Pistachio cake was delicious! I think this place has the best cakes in the area after many years.

Well, it gives off the impression of a normal shop. I tried the Mont Blanc, fruit tart, and chocolate shortcake. The Mont Blanc was a mix of a roll cake and Mont Blanc, with the shape of a Mont Blanc but the taste of a roll cake. I couldn't really taste the chestnut that I was expecting. The chocolate shortcake was like whipped cream with a hint of chocolate. It was different from what I had imagined. Overall, it was just average. It might be better to go to Chateraise instead.

This is a popular cake shop near my husband's parents' house in Yao that has been around for a long time. The cakes here are all delicious, you can't go wrong with any of them. I think the whipped cream is delicious. It's not too heavy, you can easily enjoy it. Customers keep coming in one after another. It's still a popular shop as always. When I went there this day, it was late and there weren't many cakes left. I bought the Amaou strawberry daifuku and a tart cake and ate them in the nearby convenience store parking lot. The daifuku had plenty of whipped cream and sweet bean paste inside the mochi, and the strawberry inside was sweet and delicious! I also tried a bit of my husband's. The tart cake had a thick tart crust that I love, about 2 cm thick, and I could really taste the tart flavor! I'm satisfied, satisfied~ The size of the cakes here is quite big but they don't feel that expensive. Compared to other expensive cake shops, the cakes here are the same price but much bigger. The customer service is also polite and excellent. Truly a long-established shop! To maintain popularity for a long time, it's important to educate staff like this. It was a good lesson for me. I hope the young staff at our shop will learn from this too. My mother-in-law loves Amiena, a pastry with buttercream sandwiched between biscuit-like dough. It's also delicious. Mon Napoleon is a highly recommended cake shop. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I returned to my parents' house and decided to buy some snacks at a cake shop that I used to frequent. The shop's name is "Mont Napoleon Main Store" and it is located in Yawata City, Yamamoto-cho Minami 1-chome. If you go by train, it is near the Kintetsu Yamamoto Station, and there is a parking lot for two cars next to the shop. Inside the shop, there is a display of Western-style sweets for take-out, including baked goods. We each chose one item to enjoy. The one I chose this time was the "Seasonal Crepe Wrap" for 350 yen, which I thought was quite affordable. It had melon, mandarin orange, strawberry, pineapple, and more on top. The bread dough and custard were wrapped in a crepe, topped with whipped cream and fruits. The size was quite generous and looked delicious. I brought it home and tried it immediately. I cut a bite with a fork and tasted it. The crepe dough had a suitable thickness and paired well with the whipped cream and custard. Eating the different fruits in between added acidity and sweetness, making it enjoyable without getting bored. Next, we had the "Rich Custard Pudding" that my mom bought and was left over for the next day. As the name suggests, it was a smooth pudding with a creamy texture. The sweetness was mild, and there wasn't too much caramel, making it easy for kids to enjoy as well. It was gone in no time. It was my first visit to the Western-style sweet shop that I had been eating since I was a child, and it was still delicious. The other cakes looked tasty too, so I would like to visit again when I return to my hometown. Full and satisfied, thank you for the meal.

I had some business to attend to in Yao and happened to pass by this place. It's a 3-minute walk from Kawachiyamamoto. Turn at the Sumitomo Mitsui Bank and go past the takoyaki shop, and you'll find it right away. They've been around since 1969, and even on a weekday morning, the place was bustling with customers. It's clear that this is a beloved local spot. Their popular item seems to be the Cornet, called Kururu, priced at 150 yen. When I asked if I could just get one, they kindly obliged. They fill the pastry with cream after taking your order. The large pastry is generously filled with custard cream that pairs perfectly with the buttery, crispy crust. It's really delicious! I regret not being able to try their other cakes, but I definitely want to come back and try more next time.

Mon Napoleon Main Store is located at 1-11-22 Yamamoto-cho Minami, Yao City, Osaka Prefecture. They have a parking lot, so it's convenient to visit by car. The store is very large and clean. I purchased two items: 1) Strawberry Mont Blanc and 2) Matcha Mont Blanc. The Strawberry Mont Blanc was delicious with a rich strawberry cream that was smooth and not too heavy, offering a refreshing strawberry flavor. The Matcha Mont Blanc at Mon Napoleon Main Store had a subtle matcha flavor with a strong chestnut cream, and the combination of cream and black beans inside was excellent. I went on a Sunday and the popular "Kururu" was sold out in the morning. I regretted not making a reservation. I will definitely make a reservation for my next visit. For more detailed information about Mon Napoleon Main Store, please visit their website.

Yes ( ̄▽ ̄;) Today's reviews of some cakes from a bakery that I had been meaning to share. The Gâteau au Chocolat has a mild sweetness and a sophisticated chocolate flavor with a moist texture. The Christmas Train dessert features a custard base with cream, strawberries, grapes, and oranges on top, creating a luxurious combination with a mild sweetness. The Christmas Cupcake has a fluffy sponge with chocolate cream, topped with strawberries, and again has a mild sweetness. The Santa's Gift dessert has layers of custard, sponge, strawberry cream, cream, and strawberries, with a good balance of flavors. These cakes all have a mild sweetness and are well-balanced in terms of flavors. I'm not a fan of writing cake reviews, so I'll keep it short ( ̄▽ ̄;) Enjoy your meal♪ Have a wonderful Merry Christmas☆*::*:☆

◇About the shop:
The baked goods here give off a feeling of being carefully made from simple ingredients. They may not have a strong personality or extravagance, but they achieve a standard deliciousness. Each piece is large or comes in a generous quantity, which is satisfying in terms of cost performance.
"Chef's Original Homemade Butter Cookies":
These cookies are made with both fermented butter and regular butter, resulting in a fantastic buttery flavor. The texture is crispy and delightful. At 60 yen per piece, this quality is quite a bargain and makes it a must-have snack.
"Chef's Original Homemade Tea Cookies":
These cookies have a firm texture with a distinct tea aroma. The buttery flavor is excellent, showcasing the strength of this long-established bakery. They are delicious.
"Cochi":
The rum flavor is strong in this one. They are quite thick, so eating one gives a satisfying feeling.
"Financier":
The almond flavor and the crispy edges provide a nice texture. These are also quite thick and offer a standard deliciousness.
"Orange Cake":
This cake is filled with small and large pieces of orange peel, giving off a great orange flavor. The moist and smooth texture, along with the rich buttery taste, make it a delicious cake.

There is a cake shop in the neighborhood called Mont Napoleon. It seems there is also a branch in Nara, but it is famous around here. The shop has a variety of colorful sweets in the showcase, as well as baked goods like Baumkuchen and brandy cake. I usually go for the Mont Blanc, so as usual, I peek into the showcase. I see three types of Mont Blanc. First, there is the Pumpkin Pudding, which looks like a Mont Blanc but is actually covered with pumpkin cream over pudding. That doesn't seem like a Mont Blanc to me. Next is the Salt Chocolate Mont Blanc, with orange mousse inside. I'm not in the mood for chocolate today, so I pass on that. Finally, there is the Matcha Mont Blanc for 346 yen?! That's so cheap, isn't it, everyone?! So, I also buy a cream puff for 157 yen and a pudding to take home for tea time. Since it's so cheap, I wasn't expecting much. But oh?! Surprisingly, it's quite delicious! The cream has a hint of matcha and a firm chestnut cream, and the cream inside is also tasty. This is good! Great value for money! I can now understand why the shop is always bustling with customers. Thank you for the meal!

When I was in my forties, the cake shop in front of the station was always Mont Napoleon, which we affectionately called "Mon Napo." When I was a child, it had a high-class image and seemed intimidating (at least in my mind), but even now it retains its elegance. Although it has moved from its original location next to the railroad crossing, the current place still offers delicious sweets just like before. Today is my wife's birthday, so I wanted to buy a cake, but she doesn't like anything too fancy, so I decided to go for something simple like the "Kururu" that I saw in the reviews on Tabelog. Since I would be working late and there was a high chance of it being sold out, I called in the afternoon to reserve one. During the reservation call, they asked if it was for home use, if I wanted it wrapped in the store or ready for pick-up, and the time it would take for me to bring it home. When I visited the store in the evening, the pastry chef was diligently filling the dough I ordered with cream and packaging it in the adjacent workshop. This attention to detail was evident. I brought it home and we enjoyed it after dinner. There was a note by the register saying, "Kururu has a same-day expiration date, please consume it within 3 hours for the best taste." We followed the instructions and had it two hours later as a family. It was a cornet-style sweet with a firm pastry filled with subtly sweet custard cream. This time it was all custard cream, but they also have a chocolate cream version. It was quite filling, and everyone in the family was satisfied. And all this for just 120 yen, which is incredibly cheap. No wonder it sells out quickly. However, because it needs to be eaten promptly, it may not be suitable as a gift for guests. But it would be perfect as a treat for tea time with guests. I would love to try different types of sweets from there in the future.
