The taste was not as impressive as the lack of staff was very noticeable. The waiting time was long and we couldn't eat slowly. We tried many different dishes including fried chicken and ramen. I personally enjoyed the side dishes more than the sushi. Among all the dishes we tried, I will share a photo of the delicious corn. The girl working in the hall (I think she was a part-timer) was very friendly and her service was commendable.

Entered the restaurant at 11:45 on Sunday (opening at 11:00). There were 3-4 groups of customers already seated. Families started to come in one after another. When I sat at the counter, the staff greeted me and asked if I would like to order any drinks, soup, or chawanmushi. I ordered the red miso soup, which was full of ingredients and felt like a good deal. The sushi was delicious, with fresh ingredients like lean tuna, bluefin tuna, and medium fatty tuna. The thickness of the toppings was just right. I have tried almost all the menu items in the past, but these three are definitely the top choices (if it were a top 5, I would include striped jack and scallops). Lately, I have been ordering two sets of just these toppings. A move that wouldn't be acceptable in a high-end sushi restaurant, haha. Today's recommended dish was the simmered conger eel, which came out perfectly chilled and delicious. I was amazed. From now on, I have decided not to cheat on my top 5 favorites. Note: If you don't like sweet soy sauce, you can ask the staff for "raw soy sauce."

On a certain Sunday in May 2023, I decided to give a try at Hirashiro in Shimoso-ne, Kokura Minami-ku (now known for its seafood bowls). In the past, I had a strained relationship with the staff there, but I thought it would be okay this time. As soon as I was seated, I was asked if I wanted chawanmushi and miso soup. I wanted to decide while eating, but I ended up ordering a chawanmushi. The sushi was on a conveyor belt, with most of the plates having the daily recommended dish instead of regular sushi. I tried to order the "recommended dish of the day - sardines" on the tablet, but it was already sold out. The sushi toppings were delicious, but the rice was a bit too sweet for my liking. The nigiri was also quite firm, almost like onigiri. When I ordered sushi on the tablet, the staff handed me two plates at once, even though I only ordered two pieces. I realized later that I never received my chawanmushi, so I awkwardly mentioned it to the staff before finishing my meal and leaving. Overall, it was an interesting dining experience at Hirashiro.

There are several local conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Kitakyushu, and I think each of them is more popular than the national chain sushi restaurants. Among these Kitakyushu conveyor belt sushi restaurants, there is a long-established one located in Otemachi, Nishi Kokura. Recommended dishes include fresh spear squid sashimi, Pacific saury, striped jack, eel from Tsushima, and fugu. The local fish from Kyushu is delicious, with specialties such as squid and fugu, as well as fresh mackerel unique to Kyushu. In Kitakyushu, it's definitely worth sticking to local conveyor belt sushi restaurants.

Spinagarden has a spacious parking lot, making it easy to use for Hiroushirou. I had only been to the Amu Plaza store before, so this was my first time here. Ordering is done through a touch panel system. There are both counter and table seats, with plenty of seating available. Although there were two hours until closing, some of the sushi toppings were sold out, so the selection was limited. There were no white fish toppings available. I decided to order a few items and do a second round of ordering. For people from Kitakyushu, the standard might be set by Kyosushi, so they might find the cost performance a bit lacking. However, the toppings are fresh and delicious. The side menu is so-so.

Hirashiro at Amu Plaza Kokura is a place where you can see both tourists and locals, but Spinagaraden in Ogura Kitaku Otemachi seems to have more local customers. If you dine here, you can get free parking for 3 hours. The restaurant has counter seats and box-type table seats, different from the table seats at the Amu Plaza branch. Here, you have to take off your shoes and store them in a shoe box before sitting at the table. Each table is equipped with a mini box for shoe storage, order paper, and a tablet. I visited on a quiet weekday night, so the plates were not circulating on the conveyor belt and we had to order using the tablet. The chef handed us the sushi directly over the counter right after making it. The sushi was fresh and the pieces were large. I also enjoyed the miso soup with clams, which had a deep flavor. The restaurant was quiet, and I could hear the staff chatting. If they could improve on that, it would be a perfect sushi restaurant in terms of both taste and atmosphere. I heard they also have affordable lunch menus on weekdays.

In Kitakyushu City, Kokura Kita-ku Otemachi, there is a revolving sushi restaurant on the second floor of Spinagarden Otemachi. It is operated by Kabushiki Kaisha Heishiro. The restaurant is located in Nakama, Canal City Hakata, Amu Plaza Hakata, and here at Spinagarden Otemachi. It is not a 100 yen sushi type, as the price varies depending on the plate. Despite being called a revolving sushi restaurant, there weren't many dishes actually rotating. Perhaps it was because there were few customers. The menu includes not only sushi but also sashimi, seasonal tempura, simmered fish head, chicken karaage, small dishes (such as grated yam or simmered beef tendon), and desserts. This time, I ordered grated yam with quail egg, bonito, seared salmon, seared sea bream with rock salt, surprise negitoro, and grilled squid with mayonnaise. The grated yam with quail egg was surprisingly good. The bonito was rich and delicious. The seared salmon had a great harmony between the vinegared rice and seared salmon, especially with a small amount of salmon roe and grated daikon on top. The seared sea bream with rock salt was enjoyed with lemon and yuzu pepper. The surprise negitoro was a generous portion with a great taste and texture. The grilled squid with mayonnaise had a nice texture and the mayo added a rich flavor. They purchase fresh bluefin tuna, so the tuna dishes are particularly good. Thank you for the meal.

Canal, Amu, Minami-ku, and HeiShiro were used, but Otemachi is the best. It's a bit more expensive, but worth it. The tuna and the patio were delicious. The tamagoyaki was also delicious. It was Sunday at 1 pm, so we were able to sit down easily, which was both appreciated and a bit lonely.

I went to Hira Shiro for lunch on a weekday with a Sunday flyer in hand. It's a place I often visit for dinner at Kokura Station, but this was my first time coming here for lunch with my family. It's quite crowded with customers! I ordered the 10-piece sushi set with chawanmushi for 1200 yen with a discount from the flyer. It was delicious considering the price, but I found it a bit small so I ended up ordering two more plates. I could have eaten more, but I had to leave for my next appointment! The sushi here is always fresh and tasty, and it's a great option for a casual lunch. They also have a few lunch menu options, which is nice.

I had lunch at Hira-Shirou on the 2nd floor of Spinagarden. They didn't have a lunch menu that day, so I ordered various items a la carte. It's a revolving sushi restaurant, but the sushi doesn't go around on a conveyor belt - you order using a touch panel. I'm not sure if this is how it normally is or if it's because of the influence of COVID-19, as it was my first visit. The "Akadashi" soup had large pieces of fish sashimi in it, very luxurious. The "Fugu Karaage" was freshly fried and had a firm texture. The "Cheese Fry" was small and easy to eat, with a crispy coating. The "Hokkai Sanmai" had a trio of crab miso, sea urchin, and salmon roe on battleship sushi. They were small but packed with toppings. The "Luxurious 5-piece Assortment" had large pieces of sushi with melt-in-your-mouth textures like tuna belly and conger eel. The "Ebi Fry Roll" had thick fried shrimp wrapped tightly, with a different texture from the usual 100 yen conveyor belt sushi. The "Seared Salmon" had a generous portion of salmon with salmon roe on top, very luxurious. The "Seafood Dashi Ramen" was a limited-time collaboration with Fuwafuwa Ramen, a rich tonkotsu ramen in a mini size with two slices of chashu pork. The variety of side dishes was great. It was a bit pricey for a revolving sushi restaurant, costing around 3000 yen per person. I felt I could have gone to a regular sushi restaurant for that price, but it's easy to walk in and enjoy a meal here.

Today, I had some errands to run around here, and it took about 2 hours and 30 minutes to finish. Finally, it's time for dinner. Lately, I've been craving chawanmushi (savory egg custard) no matter what. This place has a slightly upscale feel. I'm not a fan of oily fish. At home, since I was a child, our family mainly ate squid, octopus, and white fish sashimi. That's probably why I love conveyor belt sushi restaurants with a variety of nigiri options. Thank you for the meal.

No matter how many times I visit the Amu Plaza store, I am not impressed, but I have visited this store twice and both times the sushi was delicious. The sushi is not made by a machine, but by a skilled chef, so maybe I just got lucky with a good chef. The sushi is well-made and even the toppings taste delicious. As a result, I was satisfied with the unusual meal content for a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. However, the prices are on the higher side, which is a characteristic of Hirashiro. It gives a more solid impression compared to popular conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Kitakyushu like Kyozushi's Kokura store, but the prices are 1.5 to 2 times higher than Kyozushi. This makes me think, "I might as well go to a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant." Personally, I don't have much time to spend on meals, so I find conveyor belt sushi convenient, but if I have the same amount of money, I would prefer to eat at a casual sushi restaurant with more time. Of course, to give credit to this restaurant, despite being a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, the quality of the fish is on par with or even better than other sushi restaurants.

Date: Sunday lunch in February Situation: With my child Frequency: 2nd time visiting Access: 10 minutes by car from JR Minami-Kokura Station, a little over 10 minutes by car from JR Kokura Station On this day, it was my daughter's big day. However, my wife fell ill, so I had to step in as a substitute. After the event, my daughter said she wanted to eat tamagoyaki and ice cream. We passed by "Heishiro Otemachi Store" on our way, so we decided to stop there. It was located in the Otemachi area, which is between JR Kokura Station and Minami-Kokura Station, inside the main shopping area called Spina Garden. We went to the second floor of Spina Garden and entered the restaurant. The place was clean and spacious, with seating at the counter, tables, and tatami mats, accommodating over 45 people. We ordered the following items (only listing the ones that were particularly good): - Horse mackerel (180 yen) - served as two pieces on a plate. Fresh and delicious considering the price. - Sardine (120 yen) - served as two pieces on a plate. Fresh and delicious for the price. - Squid fins (180 yen) - served as two pieces on a plate. It was from Genkai, and the squid fin, which is not well known for its taste, was surprisingly delicious. It was fresh, had a hint of sweetness, and was quite tasty. This restaurant serves revolving sushi, with prices ranging from 120 yen to 550 yen, and the sushi is hand-rolled by the staff, giving it a different feel compared to machine-rolled sushi. You can order via touch panel, order form, or verbally, so there are no restrictions on how you can place your order. The parking lot is spacious, and there is a gachapon machine for children after payment. I used to come here for drinks before, enjoying various dishes and appreciating the wide selection. It reminded me of the times when I thought, "This place is good for drinking!" All in all, it was a great meal. Thank you!

After lightly stepping on a landmine called Ichimanken on the way back, I went to Hirashiro to cleanse the Ichimanken flavor in my mouth. Hirashiro revolving sushi has 5 stores in Fukuoka, mainly in Kitakyushu. This one is located on the 2nd floor of Spinagarden in Kokura Otemachi. It is considered a high-class revolving sushi restaurant in Kitakyushu, with a certain level of luxury. They have counter seats, table seats, and sunken kotatsu seats. There are 2 live fish tanks. All sushi is hand-rolled by the chefs. It was past 2 pm on a Sunday, and there were a few customers at the table seats. They serve powdered green tea, which you make yourself by pouring hot water. There is a touch panel for ordering, as well as handwritten order forms. You can also place orders verbally. Since I had just eaten high-quality ramen at Ichimanken, I ordered conservatively. Well, I ordered medium-sized draft beer (480 yen excluding tax), which only holds about 350 ml. I also had Shimesaba and Engawa (both 180 yen excluding tax), Tai, and Tekkamaki (both 260 yen excluding tax). Personally, my standard for revolving sushi is Kyosushi. In Kyosushi, all the above items are priced at 120 yen. In terms of quality, Engawa, Shimesaba, and Tai are better at Hirashiro. Especially Engawa and Shimesaba have larger and more distinct pieces. There was not much difference in Tekkamaki. The total payment was 1468 yen. If it were Kyosushi, it would have been less than 1,000 yen. Overall, I still prefer Kyosushi. But I felt that Hirashiro Spinagarden Otemachi store is also a good restaurant. Personally, I won't use it for economic reasons. (laughs) [Additional note] According to online sources, the "Hirashiro Shimosone Honten" has been renewed as "Kurukuru Sushi Heishiro," where all plates are priced at 129 yen. Maybe I should go there... I think the Spinagarden Otemachi store should not follow the Heishiro route. Just a random thought.

A few years ago, I went to this restaurant a few times when it first opened, but it didn't have many distinguishing features. However, this time when I went, it had changed quite a bit (for the better), so I will write a review. First of all, the quality of the sushi is good (well, that's what you expect from a sushi restaurant, right?). Of course, it's expensive - a plate of striped jack costs 390 yen, and fatty tuna goes up to 550 yen. But I think it's a fair price. The sushi pieces are not too big, just right, but the only downside is that the rolls are cut into four pieces (yes, it's traditional). It's a bit hard to eat in one bite. Next time, I'll ask for six-piece rolls when ordering. The issue is whether they need to charge these prices. 😂

I wanted something quick to eat, so I went to Hira-Shiro for some sushi. It's not your typical conveyor belt sushi place, and it's a bit on the pricey side. The first time I went in, I was surprised by the prices and thought to myself, "I'm not going to let these plates go by at this cost!" But it turns out they have a great deal on weekdays - a luxurious 10-piece sushi set with miso soup included. It's quite a good deal! When the set arrived, it looked delicious! There was medium fatty tuna, sea urchin, salmon roe, horse mackerel, and more. Even though it's a good deal, the taste is not compromised at all! It was so delicious that I finished it all in no time. The horse mackerel was especially tasty. Because it was such a good deal, I couldn't resist picking up a few extra plates from the conveyor belt. Oh well, it's worth it because it's so delicious! Thank you for the meal. Hira-Shiro, located in Spina Garden in Otemachi.

I visited during Golden Week on a weekday after 1 pm, and it wasn't crowded. I ordered the lunch I saw in a certain flyer. I had some expectations, but it turned out to be similar to other conveyor belt sushi restaurants, with average taste. The lack of liveliness also seemed to affect the taste. The "salmon roe + sea urchin" that came out was half cucumber, ruining the taste and making it feel like a cheap restaurant! The "bamboo shoot sushi" that came out with it was also lacking in flavor, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. So, please don't expect too much and just consider it at a normal conveyor belt sushi level in terms of "taste + service"! Personally, I would give it this score!!!
