- The plain muffin dough has a hint of sweetness, but it's not overly rich in flavor. What stands out is how the butter has soaked through, giving it a juicy texture. Despite its size, it's surprisingly heavy and satisfying. - The salt bread and red bean paste bun are pretty average. It's nice that they offer various mini-sized bread for those who want to try different things. I'm curious about their cream bread, which seems to be their signature item. There's also a second branch in Shonai, so I'll definitely visit again.

I heard that Papa's cream bread is famous, so I decided to buy some when I was planning to go to Higashi-Mikuni. When I entered the shop, a nice bread smell spread and I got really hungry. Papa's cream bread had plenty of cream and the custard was delicious. It was a firm custard.

There are surprisingly few freshly baked bread shops around Higashi-Mikuni Station. However, Papa2 BAKERY is located just west of the north exit of Higashi-Mikuni Station, where their cream bread is extremely popular, often causing long lines outside on weekend mornings (note: only up to 3 people can enter the shop at a time due to its small size). Today, I saw a sign outside advertising their "Wagashi Sakura Matcha Anpan" so I decided to try it out. I also got Papa's French Toast for 216 yen, a Raisin Sandwich for 248 yen, and the Wagashi Sakura Matcha Anpan for 248 yen, totaling 712 yen. The French Toast had apple filling but could use more cinnamon. The Raisin Sandwich was a bit lacking in flavor. As for the Wagashi Sakura Matcha Anpan, it was clear that a lot of effort went into it. It tasted like a fusion of a traditional Japanese sweet, sakuramochi, and matcha bread. The fluffy and chewy matcha bread combined with the fragrant sakura sweet bean paste was a delightful experience. The alternating sweetness and saltiness, along with the decorative salted double cherry blossom on top, made this anpan worth every yen. Overall, the Wagashi Sakura Matcha Anpan was well worth the 248 yen. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Located north of Shin-Osaka, Higashi-Mikuni is surprisingly quiet for being close to the city center. Many young salarymen can be seen in the area. Perhaps due to the nice weather, there seems to be a high demand for bakery goods. There is a bakery that cleverly balances between cake and bread, offering small yet affordable bread items that can be enjoyed as desserts. In particular, the muffins were delicious. At this point, it's more like a snack than bread, but it leaves a sense of happiness after eating, which is impressive.

Located a short distance from Higashi-Sangoku Station. I stopped by here today. The shop is a typical bakery, but the interior is quite small, probably only enough space for two people. Despite the small size, they have a relatively wide variety of bread, with mini-sized bread starting at 100 yen. The regular-sized bread is priced around 200 yen. I decided to try the Spicy Fried Chicken Focaccia. Now for the taste test! It looks like a chicken cutlet burger and is quite sizable. Despite being labeled as spicy, the breading was pretty normal. The sauce had a hint of spiciness. Overall, it had a well-balanced flavor, but the downside was that it seemed like it had been sitting for a while after being cooked. Anyway, bon appétit. Apart from the taste, it was a bit disappointing that the staff seemed more focused on the bread than the customers.

"Papapapabakery" in Higashi-Mikuni. It had been a while since I indulged in some bread activities. A friendly bar owner recommended "Papapapabakery" in Higashi-Mikuni, so I finally made my first visit. The bakery is not very spacious and currently has a limit of up to 3 people at a time. Despite its size, it is packed with a variety of breads. The focaccia sandwiches and burgers looked incredibly delicious. However, on this day, I came to buy breakfast for the next day and still had other places to visit, so I chose a bread that seemed less likely to fall apart. Papa's cream bread for 210 yen is the most popular cream bread that has been featured on TV before. It has a thin crust with plenty of homemade custard. Simple but delicious. The salt butter roll for 130 yen has a crispy exterior and a soft interior. It is generously filled with butter and has a hint of saltiness. The spinach and bacon cheese bread for 240 yen has a good aroma from the spinach mixed into the dough. It has a satisfying taste with cheese and bacon sandwiched inside. It would also make a great accompaniment to drinks. Oh, if only this bakery was closer to my neighborhood, I would definitely visit more often.

Papapapa Bakery is here~ I have bought bread from Hankyu Department Store a few times, but the main store had a wide variety of options. There were many types of bread available, but I bought the usual: Mini red bean bun (108 yen), Mini cream bun (108 yen), Mini melon bun (85 yen), Round red bean bun (216 yen), Salt butter roll (140 yen), Ham and cheese roll (194 yen). Even though they are small, they are filled with plenty of filling so both the cream and red bean buns were good.

I finally visited the bakery "Papapapabakery" in front of Higashi-Mikuni Station that I had been wanting to check out for a while. The shop has a stylish shape and is located on the corner of a intersection. As soon as I entered the shop, I was greeted by a wide variety of savory breads, making it hard to choose. The "Tomato Olive" bread had an Italian taste with the sweetness of tomatoes soaking in the olive sea, making it delicious. The "Chili Con Carne" had a slightly spicy taste that was appealing. The "Salt Bread" had a simple flavor that was surprisingly good. Among the rich savory breads, it was a refreshing choice. The "Thick Ham and Egg" bread was also voluminous, with the thick ham sandwiched between muffins providing a good balance of meaty texture and the roundness of the egg. When I was about to give up because I couldn't find the "Cream Bread" I was looking for, I saw it sitting proudly at the register. I couldn't resist and added it to my purchase. The "Cream Bread" lived up to its reputation for deliciousness. The creamy texture was the best I had ever tasted. It paired well with the soft bread dough. With many savory bread options that suit my taste, this bakery has become my favorite recommendation.

The store seems to be located in Higashi-Mikuni, but they were selling their products at a temporary event inside Tennoji Station on the Midosuji Line. I purchased the White Fish Focaccia Sandwich for 350 yen. I hadn't eaten anything until around 8:30 PM, so it was more of an impulse purchase. It had been a while since I had white fish, and it felt nostalgic. The focaccia bread was fluffy and yellow. It went well with the tartar sauce. The fluffy bread gave a sense of fullness. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

I tried an Asian-style yakisoba bread that was slightly spicy and interesting. The spicy fried chicken focaccia wasn't very spicy, but the chicken was juicy. The cherry blossom and red bean Danish pastry made my stomach bloom like spring. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Today's snack was from "Papapapa Bakery" in Higashi-Mikuni. I went there and tried their "Crunchy Croissant" for ¥194, "Chestnut Pie" for ¥248, and "Papa's Cream Pan" for ¥216. The croissant was rescued from the plastic bag 30 minutes later, so I'll eat it right away next time. The attention to detail in their work is evident from the images. The chestnut paste in the pie was delicious, but the topping jam stuck to the plastic, so I couldn't taste it. The "Papa's Cream Pan" is a popular item displayed next to the cash register. If the cream were a bit smoother, it would be perfect. I look forward to trying their hard bread next time. Address: 5-6-10 Higashi-Mikuni, Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City.

This is Papa Bakery! A bakery that stands out in a prominent location. They have a limited selection of bread, and there doesn't seem to be any direct competitors. Their cream bread is especially popular. Overall, it seems more like a business-oriented bakery rather than one driven by passion for bread.

Before visiting my in-laws' house, I decided to have lunch in Higashi-Mikuni, where my husband used to live when he was on a solo assignment. I actually came across a bakery called Takagi in Higobashi, but I couldn't stop in time. Later, I found out on Tabelog that it had a high rating, so I was feeling regretful. I want to try all the bakeries I haven't been to! So, I lined up with about four people in front of this shop, but of course, I joined the line. The shop is not very spacious, so only three people can enter at a time. There were stickers from various TV shows on the shop's door. I didn't do any research before lining up, but it seems like this is a famous shop. Finally, I entered the shop. The runny yolk of the ham and egg fry sandwich in the refrigerated case that I saw while waiting tempted me, but I had just had lunch and already decided on dinner, so I told myself, "I'll eat it later." I turned to the other side and saw a big shrimp fry sandwich... I couldn't resist it anymore... There were also sandwiches with chicken and go-bo salad and various side dish bread that made my mouth water. I tried not to look. I bought the following items after holding back: - Papa's cream bread... it seems to be a specialty. Indeed! The softness of the bread and the abundance of cream. Was cream bread a drink? - Anko butter... as expected, it tasted great. A reliable taste. - Munich... I couldn't take photos of all the items I bought, so unfortunately, there are no photos of the anko butter and this one. Inside the hard bread, there is a sausage spread with mustard. Huh? A hint of curry scent? There was also a bit of cabbage curry stir-fry. A favorite of people in Kansai. - Large shrimp fry and potato salad focaccia sandwich... upon closer inspection, the shrimp fry is made of several shrimp. The shrimp had a nice texture. The taste of the potato salad was also good! - Bacon and new onion... I bought it for my husband who loves onions. Toasted in the oven until crispy, it was delicious! My husband said he would have liked more saltiness in the bacon, but it was just right for me. I enjoyed everything. Thank you for the meal.

Located near Higashi-Sangoku Station, this bakery is easy to find with its wide storefront. The interior is smaller than expected, but the cream buns are highly recommended by everyone. Priced at 216 yen each, they are lined up in large quantities next to the register, giving off a recommended vibe. When you hold one, you can feel how soft it is and how generously filled with cream it is. As expected, when you bite into it, there is a rich creamy filling, and the dough is soft. The sweetness is just right, not too overpowering, making it easy to eat. There is a slight grittiness, but it is delicious. The staff are also friendly and create a nice atmosphere.

Back when I was a blogger, I visited around 100 bakeries for bread tasting, but now that I've stopped blogging, I've lost interest in bread altogether. However, since the weather is nice today, I decided to have a bread lunch in the park! Papa Bakery will celebrate its 3rd anniversary on May 15, 2021. This time, I chose my favorites from the bread I've tried before. Here are my selections: - Asian-style Yakisoba Bread (230 yen): This ethnic flavor might be a hit or miss for some, but the unique taste with a hint of sourness is addictive. The yakisoba with sweet and savory sauce is delicious, and the addition of shrimp is a nice touch. It's light yet filling, and the focaccia-like chewy texture of the bread is amazing. - Grilled Mackerel Dog (280 yen): A popular combination of mackerel and bread that's been trending lately. Don't worry, there's no fishy smell. The addition of shiso leaf and tartar sauce eliminates any fishiness and adds a nice touch. The egg salad with plenty of mayonnaise is rich and creamy. One piece provides more satisfaction than it looks. The coppe bread is fluffy and delicious too! They were delicious, but after eating two, I'm stuffed. Bread is supposed to be easy to digest, but I might need some stomach medicine again. My stomach seems to be aging rapidly lately, it's so sad.

I heard it was delicious, so I went to buy the famous cream puffs as a snack for my colleagues at work! I bought the mini size cream puffs for 100 yen each, which were perfect for a snack, and when I distributed them, they were well received with comments like "the cream is delicious!" and "the bread dough is delicious!" It was a highly recommended bread that was appreciated for its affordable price and loved by all. ^_^

Today, I went for a walk around the neighborhood in search of bread. Since I've been to Shin-Osaka before, I thought I could go to Higashi-Mikuni as well. So, I checked my GPS and walked to the shop from my home. I arrived at the shop before 11 am. The shop is located about a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Mikuni Station. It was smaller than I expected, and I thought it might get crowded with just five customers. Luckily, there were no other customers while I was there, so I could take my time choosing (*´ω`*). They had a good selection of crusty bread, but considering shelf life, I went for the baked bread. Also, based on reviews, the cream bread was said to be delicious, but I thought it might be sold out... However, there were plenty of them next to the register (*≧∀≦*). The items I bought and their prices (excluding tax) are as follows: - Kaiser Semmel (47 yen): A round meal bread. I lightly toasted it, made a slit, and made a mackerel sandwich with mustard and sauerkraut. The surface was crispy, and the inside was fluffy, perfect for a sandwich! And it's only 47 yen (*≧∀≦*). - Papa's Cream Bread (200 yen): A cream bread that resembled Backhus Irie's cream bread. It was too soft when I bought it, almost unreliable. The next day, it hardened a bit, but when warmed in the microwave for about 20 seconds, it became soft again. It was filled with cream (*≧∀≦*), but personally, I think it could be a bit less sweet. - Cheese Fougasse (220 yen): This size for 220 yen is impressive (*≧∀≦*). I planned to have a little snack with red wine and beef stew that night, but it was so delicious that I finished it in one go (*≧艸≦). It wasn't too hard, had a nice crispy part, and I really liked the Fougasse (*´ω`*). - Baked Cheese Curry Bread (230 yen): There was also fried curry bread, but I chose the baked one. This one also had plenty of curry! It was pleasantly spicy and satisfying for adults. Since it was baked, my hands didn't get sticky, and I didn't feel heavy in the stomach. The prices are reasonable, and the bread is delicious! I would definitely go back to buy more, even if it takes almost an hour one way (maybe I should use a bike?). I hope this shop opens nearby. Thank you for the meal.

When you exit the north exit of Higashi-Sangoku Station, you will find a bakery at the intersection with a one and zero. The shop is not very large, but it displays croissants, deli bread, curry bread, and more. According to the signs, the most popular item is the cream bread. Personally, I prefer croissants, curry bread, and cream bread. I plan to visit from time to time.

After eating soba at Higashi Sangoku, I found a stylish bakery called Papapapabakery. I tried their Cornet for 220 yen: a cream made of homemade custard mixed with whipped cream, with chocolate on the outside. It was very delicious.

If you go a little west from Hankyu Higashi-Mikuni Station, it's about a 3-minute walk. The shop is smaller than I expected, but both the exterior and interior have a good sense of style. It's a nice size for 3-4 people. After some deliberation, I bought: Salt Bread for ¥100 - simple, but the chewy dough and rock salt are nice. Sakura Shrimp Salt Bread for ¥120 - the flavor of the sakura shrimp is strong, like a shrimp mochi, delicious. Spinach and Bacon Cheese Bread for ¥240 - spinach kneaded into a chewy dough with bacon. Cream Bread for ¥100 - half size, the most popular, with a nostalgic cream with an eggy taste. Petit Croissant for ¥80 - firm, dense dough. Kaiser Menzel for ¥80 - a crispy, fluffy dough that goes well with a meal. 6 pieces for ¥720, good value for money.
