I visited the restaurant Koto located on the 5th floor of The Ritz-Carlton near Osaka Station for a client dinner. The restaurant specializes in Cantonese cuisine and has a luxurious setting. We enjoyed a course menu costing around 20,000 yen, starting with a variety of Cantonese appetizers such as roast pork, jellyfish, and steamed chicken. This was followed by steamed sea bream soup, Peking duck, stir-fried lobster and scallops, braised abalone, garlic beef fillet, crab fried rice, and a dessert platter with almond tofu and sesame balls. The restaurant offers a wide selection of drinks including champagne served in elegant glasses. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was attentive, and the carefully prepared dishes made for an enjoyable dining experience. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The day after the typhoon, there were fewer customers and it was empty. Personally, I like the atmosphere and convenience here, but to be honest, I prefer the taste of the other restaurant. However, I still like this place too. I'll come back again. (laughs)

The complimentary tea with dried fruits is subtly sweet, not overly sugary like sweetened tea, making it just right. The sweet and sour pork with black vinegar is a common dish, but the addition of figs makes it pleasantly sweet and easy to eat. It was my first time enjoying figs, so I was pleased. The shrimp and scallops are incredibly delicious. The winter melon and white fish soup is impossible to replicate at home, so it's a must-eat here. The rice in the fried rice is the slender type.

I used a private room. The decorations on the walls of the private room were beautifully carved, and there was not a speck of dust, which made me think, "This is truly the Ritz." I sat in a seat where I could see a mirror perfectly positioned (which must have been carefully planned), so I could always tidy up my appearance. I ordered a course meal. One dish that I particularly liked was the pork in the appetizer. I usually don't like sweet things, but this one was really delicious.

Celebrating at the Ritz-Carlton with Chinese cuisine. The interior is truly impressive with a sense of luxury. The service was good, but honestly, the taste was not surprising, and the presentation was rather lacking and unimpressive. The portion size was also small. For 13,500 yen, I don't think I'll be coming back.

The 5th floor of The Ritz-Carlton. It was like a maze and very enjoyable. The menu was pre-determined due to the private room. The appetizer platter with Cantonese grilled dishes was beautiful. The soup with Alaskan king crab and crab roe had a lovely color and gentle flavor. Next was the seafood trio stir-fry. The black abalone steak with Hokkaido Yamanaka Ranch butter and black pepper sauce was quite luxurious. Then came the domestic beef fillet with Western wasabi sauce. I was already feeling quite satisfied at this point. Lastly, clam and asparagus fried rice with yellow chives. It was a refined portion. The almond tofu dessert was a nice accent to end the meal. I had a wonderful evening. Thank you for the meal.

The atmosphere was nice, and the food was delicate and delicious. Starting from the appetizers, I was excited to see what would come next. The price also felt cheaper compared to other restaurants in Kita-Shinchi. It was a great place that made me want to come back again!

Ritz-Carlton's Chinese restaurant. Visited for lunch. Enjoyed in a spacious atmosphere. The flavors were gentle and rich, something I could never recreate at home. The service was top-notch. The osmanthus flower tea was a pleasant surprise. The cold jasmine tea was also delicious. Impressed by the flower-shaped steamed buns served with the shrimp chili. It seemed like they only offered set courses on the menu. Unfortunately, there were no individual items like shrimp chili available.

I enjoyed everything from the appetizers. I especially liked the lobster chili, so I ended up ordering extra shrimp mayo. The egg tart for dessert was also good, and the oolong tea with dried fruits was a new taste for me.

On Tuesdays, the restaurant is closed so we went on a different day. We were able to enjoy Chinese tea as well. Today, we didn't order a course menu but chose a la carte. There was a super high-class dried abalone dish available, but it was beyond our budget. We ordered the special sweet and sour pork with pineapple, roasted pork belly, and shrimp fried rice. Everything was incredibly high-class in terms of taste and ingredients, unlike the usual Chinese restaurants.

The restaurant is clean and impressive, with a mix of Chinese and Western atmosphere. The staff are highly skilled and always discreetly observing various tables.

Today, I went to Koto at The Ritz-Carlton Osaka on the 5th floor for dinner. The atmosphere is classical European with a high-class feel, making you feel like you've become a noble for the evening. Koto is a pleasant authentic Chinese restaurant within this upscale setting. While it may be a bit pricey, the quality of ingredients such as Peking duck, Ise lobster, abalone, Kinmedai, beef fillet, and the excellent taste and presentation of the dishes make it worth every penny. It's a perfect choice for special occasions like anniversaries or dates. Highly recommended.

When it comes to Cantonese cuisine, it originally refers to a light dish that allows you to fully enjoy the umami flavors of dried ingredients such as dried fish in Chinese cuisine. However, nowadays many Cantonese restaurants specialize in dim sum, and often use Worcestershire sauce and mayonnaise, making the cuisine more mainstream. This particular restaurant, however, allows you to fully appreciate the quality of the ingredients. The seasoning is simple with a mild taste. The way they cook the dishes is outstanding, allowing you to taste the full flavor of the ingredients with every bite. They also have a wide selection of tea and wine, and the wine pairing was perfect. If only the last order time could be extended by just 30 minutes, it would be perfect for stopping by after work.

I visited for lunch. The dishes, from appetizers to dessert, were beautifully presented, and the beef dish was especially delicious. I was very satisfied with the quality of the food for the price. I had beer and champagne. The service was excellent, and I had a pleasant experience from start to finish.

The luxurious ambiance was lovely ✨ Each dish took so long that after 45 minutes for just the appetizer and soup, I mentioned that I was a bit in a hurry... but in the end, it took 30 minutes past the time I wanted to leave, which was disappointing. The fried rice made with jasmine rice and the meat in the appetizer, as well as the prawns, were delicious, but the service was below expectations. There were mistakes when retrieving my coat and other clothing items at the end, and the payment itself took over 15 minutes... It was a birthday celebration and I had chosen to dine at the Ritz-Carlton, expecting a bit more elegance, but I feel like the service and escorting at local restaurants are actually better.

I was brought here by an acquaintance. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and had a luxurious atmosphere, which was wonderful. The staff were also very polite and provided excellent service. The food was delicious as well. While I didn't feel a sense of value with the a la carte menu, I did feel it with the course menu. It was a great restaurant.

May 14, 2022: Chinese cuisine at The Ritz-Carlton. I really like this place and the Chinese cuisine at The Westin. Although I have only been to a few high-end Chinese restaurants in Osaka (laughs). There are surely many other good restaurants out there. Dishes like fried rice are easy to compare because they don't use particularly expensive ingredients. The broth is rich, not too salty, and shows the skill of the chef. The desserts are also excellent. As expected of a high-end Chinese restaurant. Sweet and sour pork is my number one dish. It uses black vinegar, which sets it apart from the sweet and sour pork at regular Chinese places. 1. Sweet and sour pork with strawberries (Kōtō, Osaka) 2. Black vinegar sweet and sour pork with Six White Pig (Seishō, Nishinomiya) 3. Iberico pork sweet and sour pork (Chūgoku-sai Shinpei, Osaka) Head Chef Peter Chong (from Hong Kong) served as the Deputy Chef for Chinese cuisine at the Palace of the Golden Horses in Kuala Lumpur, hosting the leaders of the G-15 countries. He was in charge of the kitchen at APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) and provided meals to leaders at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel in Hawaii. I ordered the Seasonal Lunch for ¥8,700 (tax and service charge included). Menu: - Cantonese-style assorted appetizers - Corn soup with king crab - Stir-fried prawns and abalone with XO sauce - Steamed Okinawan Sujia with Touchi sauce - Sweet and sour pork with strawberries - Chicken and asparagus fried rice - Almond jelly White Tea White Silver Needle ¥1,650: The raw material for the tea is all new shoots, processed straight like needles, and the color is as white as silver. It has a fresh and aromatic taste. Paid with MB Card. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The Chinese restaurant in Umeda was all about "Hirefune" so I tried the Chinese restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton for the first time. I made a reservation for my favorite atmosphere seat and decided on the course menu for around 9000 yen. The appetizer assortment included jellyfish, pork, steamed chicken, and pickled cucumbers. The pork wasn't the usual Jinhua ham, which was a nice surprise. The crab meat corn soup had chunks of fresh corn, unlike the canned corn used in regular restaurants. I also opted for the dim sum trio, which was delicious but filling. The stir-fried abalone with Okinawan fish in bean paste sauce was tasty. The strawberry sweet and sour pork had a unique flavor with a mix of berries and black vinegar. The shrimp fried rice was flavorful. For dessert, I had mango pudding and a sesame dumpling with salted egg yolk and custard, which was amazing. The peach tea was also fragrant and delicious. Overall, the experience was different from traditional Chinese cuisine, and I would like to visit again, although deciding between the course menu and a la carte can be a bit challenging. The total bill for two people, including two course meals, two beers, the dim sum trio, and Peking duck, came to around 24,500 yen.

Located a 5-7 minute walk from Nishi-Umeda Station, Kato is a high-end Chinese restaurant situated on the 5th floor of The Ritz-Carlton Osaka. Selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the west in 2021, this luxurious restaurant boasts a spacious and elegant atmosphere, along with refined and attentive service befitting a high-end hotel establishment. I ordered the popular seasonal lunch menu this time. Each dish combines the essence of Chinese cuisine with carefully crafted Chinese-style broth and intricate sauces, reminiscent of a French fine dining experience. The main dish, in particular, the beef fillet, was incredibly tender with a burst of beef flavor, complemented by a slightly spicy Chinese sauce – an absolute delight! Other dishes such as deep-fried shrimp with mayonnaise and chili sauce, Chinese soup with dumplings, and sticky rice were of equally high quality. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. Bon appétit!
