On July 11, 2022 (Monday) during lunchtime, I took the train on a cloudy day and had an incredibly delicious experience at "Harimaya Main Store Tennoji Branch" in Osaka. I tried their traditional Japanese sweets and souvenirs, specifically the "Harima-yaki" economy pack priced at ¥500. I had not tasted this snack for decades since my childhood, but I found it online and was delighted to enjoy it again. As a child, I used to think, "This senbei with sweet bean paste is unbelievably delicious!" It turns out that the store is conveniently located near Tennoji Station. The name "Harima" gave me a hint that it might be from Hyogo Prefecture. It is similar to "Masuya's Onigiri Senbei," but the latter feels like a cheap imitation. The soy sauce-flavored Harima-yaki is crispy and crunchy, making it incredibly tasty. Overall rating: ★★★★★ Richness of flavor: ★★★ Cost performance: ★ Nostalgia factor: ★★★★★ (since childhood)

When I visit Tennoji, I often stop by this shop. I went to this shop to buy souvenirs for Fukui. Since I like rice crackers myself, I find this shop very convenient. It also makes a great gift for my company, so I use it occasionally. This time, I bought the following for home use: - Asahi-age 500 yen (200g) - Jukichi 500 yen (200g) Both are economy packs without selection, so they are reasonably priced. I am satisfied with these for home use. In addition to these, I also buy proper ones for my company. Asahi-age is for my eldest daughter, and Jukichi is for my partner. Asahi-age is similar to a certain manufacturer's "bo*** age," but it has a luxurious feel, and Jukichi has a different taste with its crispy rice ball. There are many other types of rice crackers, but it's all about personal preference. This time, I bought a little extra, so the shop kindly included zenzai for me. I don't eat zenzai often, but it was delicious with the perfect amount of mochi and nicely roasted. There used to be samples available, but they don't offer them anymore, right? Thank you for the meal. Thank you ( =^ェ^= ) PS I am a member, so I get a 5% discount from here.

I bought a "Stork's Lucky Bag" as a souvenir for my home. It's a one-bite size snack that is easy for my 4-year-old to eat. The bag contains 10 different kinds of rice crackers, which feels like a great deal. My child enjoyed eating them, but unfortunately, there was one with a ginger flavor that was too spicy for them, so they spit it out. Other than that, they happily ate the rest of the snacks.

I visited "Harimaya Honten Tennoji Store" located on the 1st floor of Ginsei Tennoji Building, right by exit 7 of Tennoji Station. This shop is famous for its "Asahi-age," the Japanese number one "deep-fried rice cracker that makes your cheeks drop." I purchased the classic menu item "Asahi-age" from Harimaya Honten this time. For more information about the food, drinks, atmosphere, and recommended points of the restaurant, please check the following URL: https://lucky-luckizo.com/blog/34744.html (*´▽`*)

2019: Revisited♪ I always find myself craving the delicious rice crackers from Hanaya. The "Super Eco Pack" is such a great deal! This time, a new addition called "Euro no Hoshi" was included, featuring bite-sized morning sun crackers coated in white and dark chocolate. The Super Eco Pack for 1200 yen includes Hanaya Yaki, black bean yaki mochi, morning sun crackers, Nori rice crackers from Kagetsu, Sukujirou, Okaki Sumeragi, and Euro no Hoshi. Whether it's the quality of the mochi rice or the baking technique, these rice crackers are truly delicious!

Hello everyone! Today, I want to introduce a souvenir that I received from a customer. It's called "Karei Mangeki" from Hanba-ya Honten Tennoji store. It's a unique name, but it's actually curry senbei, so the name "Karei" means splendid! It was really delicious, with a thick and flavorful curry seasoning on a large senbei. It's definitely the best curry senbei I've ever had. Thank you as always for the wonderful treats!

Yeah, it's really good! They have discounted items like cracked rice crackers sometimes, making it a great deal. It's a popular choice for souvenirs or gifts because it's delicious and affordable. The slightly left-leaning aspect might be a concern for some people, though.

There is a shop called Harimaya in the shopping street towards Shitennoji Temple from Tennoji Station. The shop has a clean and bright interior with a variety of rice crackers lined up, and you can also sample them. I purchased a box of "Kagayaki Mangetsu" (24 bags of one piece each) for 1,080 yen. It is the curry version of their morning sun rice crackers. The crispy dough and Japanese-style curry are a perfect match, with just the right amount of spiciness. Delicious!

I stopped at Tennoji Station and got off the taxi, where the area was bustling with visitors heading to Shitennoji Temple. There, I found the highly recommended Asahi-age shop called "Harima Honten" that you can't help but stop by. The shop was located in the Tennoji Station front shopping street, where people were gathered due to the Shitennoji Daishi Kai (antique market) event. I decided to buy the famous Asahi-age and head back home. The neatly displayed rice crackers caught my attention, along with the glass jar of free samples placed in front of them. Of course, I couldn't resist trying them out. The Asahi-age was delicious, light, and crispy, with a slightly restrained sweet and savory flavor. I can see why it's hard to stop eating them! I also tried the curry and tomato flavors next to it, but the Asahi-age was my favorite. When you purchase the rice crackers, you can enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or barley tea at the table seats prepared at the back of the shop, which was a nice touch. I took a break there before heading back from Shitennoji Temple. It's also a great idea to buy them as souvenirs. When I brought them as snacks to my workplace, the doctors enjoyed them so much that they disappeared in no time. It was worth it to see them so happy. Thank you, Maorebi, for recommending this place.

Located in a shopping street along Tanimachi-suji, just north of Tennoji, this rice cracker shop is originally from Ikuno-cho, Asago City, Hyogo Prefecture. The entrance may look a bit old-fashioned, but once inside, you'll find a nice atmosphere. You can see people enjoying tea through the glass from outside, and although it may seem like a café, they actually offer tea as a service to customers. Most of the rice crackers can be sampled. The variety is similar to the rice cracker specialty store Kokurayamaso found in department stores, but with a more rustic feel. The main focus is on rice crackers, but they also offer rice crackers using chocolate (Euro series). Surprisingly good was the "Karei Mangetsu" curry senbei. It tastes as you would imagine, but it's addictive. The "Tanmi Gonomi" with reduced salt is light and enjoyable. They also sell bags of "Musekibetsu" with broken pieces for home consumption. In this era overflowing with sweets, the prices of the rice crackers feel reasonable. Customers purchasing gifts are offered zenzai. The self-service tea and other services provided are very valuable. Once you visit, you'll end up buying something. Since there are only branches in Juso and Tennoji in Osaka, I would like to buy it as a gift again if I have the opportunity.

It's a crowded senbei shop near Tennoji Station, bustling with visitors to Shitennoji Temple. This shop has a slightly upscale feel, and I've tried their senbei as a souvenir before, and it was very delicious. Their signature item is the "Asahi Age," a snack similar to tempura but without the greasy aftertaste, so you have to be careful not to overindulge. While it's great for souvenirs, I opted for the cheaper broken pieces for home consumption. With a wide variety to choose from, it can be overwhelming, but most items are available for sampling, so you can pick your favorite. They also offer free coffee, so you can relax after shopping. If you haven't tried it before, buying it as a souvenir once will surely be appreciated.

I visited the bustling "Okaki-ya" shop, which is always crowded with customers. I purchased a bag of "Morning Sun Rice Crackers" for 360 yen (including tax) at the Tennoji branch of Japan's number one rice cracker shop, Hatsumiya. At Hatsumiya, they call it "Morning Sun Agemochi," which is a type of fried rice cracker. It's different from others, and I could really taste why their catchphrase "It will make your cheeks drop" is not an exaggeration. They use Japanese rice, so it's safe to eat. The crackers are big, thick, and not hard, making them delicious.

The other day, I tried a delicious rice cracker called "Karei Mangetsu" from a business partner, and I was so impressed that I decided to look for it in the Kansai area. I found a store near Tennoji, so I went to the Himeya Honpo store. The store is located north of Tennoji Station, along the Tanimachi shopping street. The exterior of the Himeya Honpo store looks like this. When I went there before Valentine's Day, they were also selling chocolate rice crackers. Inside, you can sample for free, and if you make a purchase, you can sit at a table inside and enjoy a cup of coffee. The "Karei Mangetsu" curry rice cracker that I bought this time is a rice cracker with a curry flavor, just as its name suggests. It has a unique taste that is perfect as a snack with alcohol! The curry flavor is distinct and the texture is crispy. It also has a satisfying volume. Besides "Karei Mangetsu," they also have popular snacks like "Asahi Age" similar to Kansai's "bonchi age," and "Harima Yaki" similar to rice cracker onigiri. They were also selling a winter limited edition chocolate-coated rice cracker called "Euro no Hoshi," which surprisingly tasted delicious when sampled. They also had eco-packs for home use, so I plan to come here to stock up whenever I feel like eating rice crackers. In conclusion, Himeya Honpo is one of the most famous stores selling delicious rice crackers in Kansai. It's a great place to buy souvenirs when visiting Kansai or as a small token of appreciation for someone.

A letter from the Boma Shop arrived via mail order. I think it's because I made a membership card when I visited before. The rice crackers I bought before were long gone, so I flipped through the booklet. The classic bean rice crackers are delicious, and the morning sun fried rice crackers are also good. As I read through the other articles, I came across something I hadn't received before, a special zenzai. It's being offered as a free service in-store. The article mentioned that it's only for those who spend over 2000 yen, which disappointed me. I wish there was a note to avoid people like me feeling let down. If there are conditions, I don't want them to be advertised in direct mail. It made me feel skeptical about what else was written. Upon revisiting, I saw a sign for the Zenzai service in front of the store. Since my stock of rice crackers had run out, I bought the usual bean rice crackers and morning sun fried rice crackers. Then, I asked the cashier if I could have a Zenzai, and they said it's only for those who spend over 2000 yen. It was a cold response. If that's the case, they should have mentioned it beforehand. It's embarrassing to ask and be turned down. Or maybe it's a rule made afterwards because too many people were asking for Zenzai? Either way, it didn't sit well with me. Near Tennoji Station, there's a shop along the old-fashioned shopping street on Tanimachi-suji. It's a bit past the Shitennoji Temple. I wonder who buys things here? Bags, wallets, shoes. It's right after the shoe stalls. There's a resting area in front of the shop, and the back is where they sell rice crackers. They have traditional Japanese-style rice crackers as well as Western-style snacks. My favorite is the classic black bean rice crackers, especially the broken ones. When you open the bag, you can't help but eat them all immediately. Yes, I know they're carbs. But they're so delicious. In addition to bean rice crackers, they also have Kansai-style bonchiage and Kanto-style kabukiage, which are recommended.

In 2016, I revisited and added photos♪ When my dad gets stressed at work, for some reason, he always buys this pack of rice crackers - it's a mix of delicious rice crackers, and I'm happy about it, haha! ◎ Rice cracker pack♪ Harimaya-yaki, nori rice crackers, Asahi-age, Sukijiro-doingenkotsu, Karei mangetsu, Awamino konomi, Kounotori senbei yuzu, Hisaka senbei, nori senbei, Tamba black bean senbei Asahi-age and Karei mangetsu are my favorites! I really love Harimaya's rice crackers, they're so delicious (*^_^*) In May 2012, I visited Harimaya again after a long time for a friend's treat♪ Previously, they used to offer free samples and drinks to everyone, but now they only provide drinks for buyers... But no worries! There are sample rice crackers available in front of the product shelf (Hooray!) The rice crackers here are all really delicious, so just by trying the samples, I get full (laughs) I chose the "Kounotori's lucky bag" as usual (*^_^*) It's a plastic plate filled with small rice crackers of different flavors, individually wrapped♪ When I brought it out, everyone was delighted and immediately opened and ate them (laughs) It was well received that the bag was labeled "lucky bag"! The English person was also surprised by the deliciousness! (laughs) I explained that it's the best rice cracker in Japan~ The kind and polite staff said, "If you have time, we also prepare zenzai," but I declined because I prefer spicy food (*^_^*) In June 2011, the first time I tried Harimaya's rice crackers was a few years ago~ The box said, "The most delicious rice crackers in Japan," which surprised me a bit, but after eating them, I was convinced! They're really delicious (*^_^*) While walking in Tennoji, I happened to find Harimaya♪ Since then, I've often used it for gifts or thank-yous! All the rice crackers are delicious, but I especially like the "Kounotori's lucky bag," a small pack of various flavored rice crackers that I enjoy the most! The staff is also very helpful and polite~ (*^_^*)

Hanba-ya Honten in Tennoji♪ Japan's number one rice cracker shop, Hanba-ya Honten. A famous rice cracker shop where you can also sample the rice crackers. Although it has already closed down, a few years ago there was a rice cracker shop on Midosuji where you could sample the rice crackers, which was often featured on TV. When I searched online, various articles with a religious aspect came up. It was just a normal, delicious rice cracker shop. Since everyone in my family loves rice crackers, I plan to buy some when I visit Tennoji again.
