I was thinking about what to have for lunch while walking around Amu Plaza, but it was hot so I decided to eat inside the building and found a revolving sushi restaurant. I didn't know there was a revolving sushi restaurant at Kokura Station before haha. It was a bit past 1 pm, so it was a late lunch and there weren't many customers. I liked the touch panel ordering system, it was convenient. Unfortunately, many items on the menu were sold out, including the assorted sushi plate. So, I ended up ordering dish by dish. As someone who likes white fish and silver fish, I was a bit disappointed by the limited variety. The rice was made by a machine, and surprisingly, the sushi toppings were quite delicious for a revolving sushi restaurant. Especially, the salmon and sea bream were delicious. The complimentary miso soup was also good. Ordering 12 plates and paying 2,222 yen made it a good lunch experience.

Before boarding the Shinkansen, I wanted to eat a leisurely Japanese meal somewhere because I had a lot of luggage... So I asked "Are there any available booth seats?" and entered a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. The staff greeted me warmly and said "We will guide you to a table in the back!" and led me to a spacious seat, soothing my travel fatigue. Furthermore, perhaps as a measure against COVID-19, they spaced out all the customers and guided them to separate tables. The staff seemed to be working hard, walking longer distances and being attentive, but their customer-oriented approach was impressive. The sushi arrives automatically through a touch panel. On this day, I also wanted to eat udon because it was cold, so I asked the staff to remove the tempura bits, and they responded promptly and cheerfully. The food arrived quite quickly, even though it was mentioned that it would take about 20 minutes. The sushi and seaweed were fragrant, and the North Pacific octopus and red snapper were fresh! It's so delicious and I'm grateful for the reasonable prices. The restaurant was clean, the service was efficient yet kind and pleasant. I tried to stop by a restaurant near Nagasaki Station to eat champon, but even though there were no other guests inside, I was about to be seated at the counter. When I asked if I could have a wider seat because I had a lot of luggage, the staff completely ignored me, placed a glass of water on the counter, and walked away. After I said I would cancel my order, Mr. Heishiro came out and his kind hospitality almost made me cry. They also accept Region Pay. They seem to have their own app as well. Even the students were enjoying themselves with fried potatoes and sushi, each one relaxing in their own way. I want to support restaurants like this that make efforts to adapt to the times. Thank you for the wonderful meal ❤️

There is a sushi restaurant on the 6th floor of Amu Plaza. It has a lot of seats and a welcoming atmosphere for families with children. However, when I visited again after a long time, the sushi was not as delicious as before. The rice was quite sticky. I ordered the recommended flatfish today and was surprised to find quite a few bones in the fish. It's a no from me. The Otemachi branch is clearly tastier.

I have used this restaurant several times. It gets crowded during Saturday lunchtime. Since I was alone, I was able to be seated at the counter without waiting. I ordered the recommended dishes of fresh mackerel, flounder, horse mackerel, red clam, Hokkaido 5 kinds of sashimi, seafood battleship, and grilled turban shell. I also had beer and lemon sour from noon. The white fish in the seafood battleship was exceptionally fresh and I had seconds. The lemon sour was not too sweet and had a nice taste. The fish in Kokura is delicious everywhere. It's different from Edomae sushi, with a fresh and crunchy texture that some people really enjoy. The sweetness and richness of the Kyushu soy sauce is also notable. Thank you for the meal.

I came here because the place I wanted to go was closed. Summer is coming to an end. This year has been eventful... both in work and personal life... good things and quite a few bad things... worries piling up. Things that need to be done are also piling up. The moment of rest is over.
- Atmosphere: Conveyor belt sushi chain. There is space in the middle of the table where the plates arrive, which is slightly larger.
- Ordering process: Touch panel. The food arrives at the table automatically. They also take away the plates you stack on the edge. There is a receipt. Payment at the register.
- Customer base, crowd: It was moderately crowded. Seems like a lot of people are grabbing a bite before catching the Shinkansen.
- Duration of stay: About 20 minutes.
- Customer service: There is a polite explanation for first-time customers.
- Menu: There are cheap plates, as well as high-end options, udon, ramen, fried foods, and many sold-out items.
- Parking: Not available.
- Sushi: It's convenient, cheap, and quick to finish, which is good. It seems like the sushi is made by hand, not by a machine!

Today I went on a trip to Kokura! I searched for a restaurant to have lunch with my son who is on a diet using Tabelog. When in doubt, go for conveyor belt sushi! Plus, it's conveniently located in Kokura Station building (Amu Plaza). It was already past 1 pm, but there were a few groups waiting. I made a reservation on the touch panel and waited for about 10 minutes. This time we sat at the counter. They even provided chairs to put our bags on. I ordered various items on the touch panel - recommended for the day, tuna, natural conger eel, horse mackerel, striped jack, raw shrimp with lemon, seared scallop, sea urchin gunkan, tuna tartare, crab chawanmushi, and fresh spring rolls. In this restaurant, depending on the type of sushi, you can choose the amount of rice, wasabi, green onion, etc. Personally, I found the white fish to be fresh and delicious. The conger eel was also fluffy. Kokura has many high-quality conveyor belt sushi and regular sushi restaurants. We were able to enjoy delicious food easily! Thank you for the meal!

The sea bream was firm and fresh. It would have been better if there were more options for white fish. It's Sunday, so I guess it's understandable. The tuna was also decent. The importance of a hidden knife becomes apparent when you come to a revolving sushi restaurant. Kyushu is the kingdom of white fish. The rolled sushi is like a shadow clone (lol).

During a business trip to Kokura, I had a solo lunch at a sushi restaurant where I ordered everything through a touch panel. I had various dishes like seared Spanish mackerel with rock salt, seafood gunkan sushi, grilled horse mackerel, and live turban shell. Despite the pandemic, the plates weren't rotating, but the veteran sushi chef did a great job with the rice and toppings, and the portions were satisfying. The staff were also very friendly and provided excellent service. I didn't do any research before going in, but I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied.

The cost performance is good and the food is delicious. I recommend ordering a platter instead of individual dishes because you can try various types of sushi in one go. It's a bit disappointing that the menu has been reduced slightly compared to before. I wonder if it's because of the COVID-19 situation...

This is my second visit. I had 7 GotoEate vouchers left, so I decided to use them all. I ordered 3 glasses of draft beer, Hakkaisan sake, shochu with hot water, squid sashimi, horse sashimi, yukhoe, potato fries, grilled buri-kama, salt-grilled fish, and ramen. All the items, priced at 138 yen each, were delicious. The recommended buri-kama salt-grilled dish by the manager was especially amazing, with so much fat that my hands got sticky. The ramen was the perfect way to end the meal, both in terms of taste and portion size. This revolving sushi restaurant is one that I would want to visit again and again.

I arrived at the restaurant at 8:50 pm due to work running late. I thought I could take my time eating since the restaurant was open until 11 pm according to Tabelog, but they immediately announced last call. Because I arrived late, many items on the menu were already sold out. If I had more time and there were no sold-out items, I believe my rating would have been higher. For this visit, I ordered draft beer, assorted tempura (crispy and generous portion, highly recommended), squid sashimi, shrimp and cucumber roll, seared mackerel, tuna tartare, premium 5-piece sushi platter (highly recommended), grilled chicken skin, binchotan tuna 5-piece platter, and 2 glasses of cold sake. Next time, I will make sure to arrive with more time to spare.

There is a well-known conveyor belt sushi chain with several locations near my house, but I visited for the first time. The menu was a bit pricey. I decided to order a lunch set for around 2000 yen, but I thought maybe Sushiro would be a better option for that price.

According to a knowledgeable source, the sushi at the Honten restaurant in Otemachi is better than here. So why did I choose this place? Simply because they accept Suica payment. The Otemachi branch doesn't seem to accept it. Most shops in Amu, train stations, and Aeon malls accept Suica, which is convenient. They even have parking. Overall, the sushi here was mediocre. The toppings were not great, and the rice was a bit too sticky and heavy. I don't plan on coming back. Suica can be used here.

Entered the restaurant around 11:30 on March 1st, after the lifting of the state of emergency. Upon seating at the counter, disposable chopsticks and a tea cup were provided. Started with ordering a complimentary bowl of miso soup with clams and a few pieces of sushi. The miso soup, although free of charge, was lacking in flavor. The sushi had inconsistencies in quality, with some pieces falling apart easily with just a touch of chopsticks. Additionally, the grilled conger eel ordered later was served cold and thin, with an overly sweet glaze. Despite the affordable prices, the overall quality was disappointing. While this restaurant used to be recommended, the current situation is quite regrettable. Hoping for improvements in the future.

◉ Genre: Conveyor belt sushi
◉ Area: Amu Plaza, Kokura Kita-ku, Kitakyushu City

On this day, I visited "Kaitenzushi Heishiro Kokura Station Amu Plaza Store" on a whim.
◇ Exterior and Interior
Located on the 6th floor of Amu Plaza, a directly connected commercial facility to JR Kokura Station in Kokura Kita-ku, Kitakyushu City, this conveyor belt sushi restaurant is easily recognizable from the outside. The interior has a similar atmosphere, with a total seating capacity of around 50 seats. The restaurant is non-smoking, with a designated smoking area outside.
◇ Seating
There are about 50 seats in total.
◇ Menu
The menu includes a variety of sushi options such as nigiri sushi, gunkan sushi, and rolls, as well as daily recommendations, soup dishes, and a la carte items. Prices start from 125 yen. I ordered the following:
- Seafood Tonkotsu Ramen (480 yen): A collaboration with Fuufu Ramen, this ramen was surprisingly affordable and tasted similar to Fuufu Ramen. While advertised as seafood-based, I personally felt that the seafood flavor was not very prominent. The chashu pork and noodles were of good quality, but the soup tasted more like Fuufu Ramen than a seafood broth.
◆ Strong Points
The restaurant offers a unique feature where customers can have their freshly caught fish purchased. They also have tuna cutting shows and special conveyor belt lanes.
◆ Service
The service was a bit lacking, with minimal communication from the staff. Despite my attempt to engage in conversation, the staff only nodded and pointed to indicate their responses.
◆ Conclusion
While differentiating itself from the 100 yen conveyor belt sushi chains, this restaurant did not quite deliver a distinct experience. There was a sense of something missing, and the difference between "conveyor belt" and "rotating" sushi was not clear. Unfortunately, I did not get to try their nigiri sushi this time. Thank you for the meal.

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, I visited this restaurant for the first time this year. I arrived before 11:30 am, sanitized my hands, and then took my seat. The staff brought me a teacup and chopsticks to my table, but the pickled ginger and soy sauce were still self-service. The ordering process through the touch panel remained the same... However, it may just be my imagination, but it seems like the sushi pieces have become smaller. Additionally, the rice was sticky and had a lingering sweetness, making me feel like the overall quality has declined. Given the current situation, I might prefer Kyoto Sushi, which is conveniently located near Kokura Station. As I left the restaurant, I noticed that there were fewer customers, but this might not only be due to the impact of the coronavirus. ☝️

There are various side menu options at Amu Plaza besides the revolving sushi, and I couldn't help but overeat. This time, dishes like nodoguro and fugu came out on large plates. They were not in the 100 yen range per plate, but they were all delicious and enjoyable.

At "Heishiro" in Kokura for sushi lunch. Met up in Kokura for lunch, hadn't eaten yet, 20 minutes left. Headed to "Heishiro" on the 6th floor of Amu. Good COVID-19 measures in place, offering free miso soup for early customers, still available even though it was late. Ordered all sushi using a touch panel. Got sea bream (125 yen + tax), live flounder (250 yen + tax), tuna (125 yen + tax), homemade thick rolled omelette (125 yen + tax), and finally salmon and salmon roe parent and child sushi rose salmon for 380 yen + tax. Quality is not bad, good variety of 125 yen plates. It must be tough during the pandemic, hope they keep up the good work.

"Alicia's Food Log: Oh? I haven't posted about this before? I've liked it for quite a long time, maybe about 20 years ago? I go there occasionally. There used to be Pepper-kun at the storefront, but he wasn't there this day. Now, it's more about drinking than eating. First, cheers with a beer and then we had assorted sashimi, simmered beef tendons, horse meat yukhoe, cheese fry, oyster fry, crab chawanmushi, natto roll, rolled omelette, oyster sushi, seared hirasu, and grilled scallops. A decent amount of food indeed. I came here today because of a sudden rain, but as expected from a sushi restaurant! The sashimi slices were large and fresh, the appetizers were in easy-to-eat sizes and reasonably priced. The chawanmushi was also well-prepared. The sushi was really delicious, with large pieces of fish. The famous rolled omelette was as tasty as ever. The location in the station is also good, so I feel like they can continue for a long time. Thank you for the feast today."

At the sushi restaurant on the upper floor of the Kokura Amu Plaza, I decided to order directly since there weren't many plates rotating around. Surprisingly, the sushi was delicious this time. Unlike typical conveyor belt sushi restaurants where the more expensive plates are better, here the cheaper plates were just as good. This makes it a great option for casual dining. I left feeling satisfied and will definitely come back again.
