First time visiting this restaurant. I came for dinner after watching a movie, a little earlier than usual. About 70% of the tables were occupied, so we were able to enter easily. The ordering system is touch panel style, and the plates also come around on a conveyor belt. I chose some affordable sushi as a snack with my beer. It seems the pink plates were 143 yen each, haha. The sushi tasted pretty good for the price. The tamago (egg) was especially delicious! I ended up ordering more. It's a good place to enjoy tasty sushi at a reasonable price. Thank you for the meal! I couldn't go to the sushi restaurant due to various circumstances, so I went to a conveyor belt sushi place for lunch. The recommended mackerel and bonito were delicious as always. I was full in about 30 minutes. Depending on the chef, the rice was sometimes too soft and would fall apart when picked up, but that's expected at a conveyor belt sushi place. I thought it was a major chain conveyor belt sushi restaurant when I entered Canal City, but it turned out to be a local restaurant with four locations centered around Kitakyushu. In addition to the Canal City Hakata store, there are also the Amu Plaza Kokura store, Spinagarden Otemachi store, and Nakama store. Their selling point is skilled chefs preparing fresh ingredients. Despite being a tourist spot, they offer a variety of dishes priced at 125 yen excluding tax, which is quite nice. Orders are placed through a touch panel terminal. I started by looking for affordable options and ordered items like clam miso soup for 275 yen, tai, squid with salt and lemon, hamachi, octopus from Hokkaido, and shelled clams for 125 yen each. They were all quite delicious. The quiet artisan's skills were also impressive. The "homemade thick tamagoyaki" for 125 yen, which is popular as a souvenir, was unexpectedly large and had a high-quality finish with just the right amount of sweetness. It is served with a little rice in the cut. They also offer specialty menus such as the "eight-piece assortment" and the "five-piece assortment" filled with the restaurant's pride. Visited for the first time with a friend!! I was caught off guard thinking it was a conveyor belt sushi place! Anyway, it's expensive! Plates over 500 yen are constantly coming around! The taste is not bad, but for the price, it's just average. At this price point, I would rather go to a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant! But for some reason, it was crowded! This is a sushi restaurant based in Kitakyushu, with a branch in Kokura Station. It's located on the 4th floor of Canal. I didn't know there were restaurants on the 4th floor. The interior has around 15 seats at the counter and about 4 tables. Since the tables were all occupied, I sat at the counter. Orders are placed using a touch panel. The cheapest item was around 137 yen, but there are quite a variety of choices. However, the beer is expensive. They only serve draft beer, which is priced at 550 yen. Moreover, the beer mug is quite small, probably around 200ml in capacity. If draft beer and bottled beer are priced the same, bottled beer is definitely a better deal. Draft beer is usually served in quantities of less than 400ml, and with about 30% foam, it's even less. The 280ml mug might actually contain less than 200ml of beer. Since the size of draft beer varies by restaurant, it's hard to trust. Well, I guess this is just how the restaurant operates, so there's nothing much we can do about it. At least they don't charge for table charge (I really dislike table charges).

The other day, I watched a movie at Canal City Hakata and had lunch at Kaiten Sushi Heishiro before heading home. I noticed this poster when I passed by the store - Limited to weekday lunchtime! Free miso soup, a seasonal 10-piece assortment, with chawanmushi for a total of 1,188 yen including tax. When I tried it, although it's a conveyor belt sushi, the sushi wasn't actually rotating on plates. It seems like they make it to order and then bring it to you. Well, that's even better and fresher, right? I ordered the 10-piece set I was looking for and waited a bit. Ta-da! Sea urchin, salmon roe, salmon, and more - it was more luxurious than I imagined. The free miso soup and chawanmushi were delicious, and the large tamagoyaki (sweet omelette) made me happy. It was my first time at this restaurant, but I'm glad I went in.

Before the movie, we had dinner around 6:30 pm on a weekday. There was one group of customers already inside when we arrived, and two more groups came in almost at the same time. There was only one chef or maybe a young part-time worker handling everything by himself. I was worried if he would be able to manage alone, but more staff came out later as it got busier. The atmosphere was a bit lacking in terms of jokes, and maybe that's why the food tasted a bit bland. The prices were cheap, so I guess it's to be expected.

I went to Canal City for the first time in a while. The operating hours were still limited, so there weren't many customers, but this restaurant was bustling. They had solid infection prevention measures in place, so I could eat with peace of mind. It was a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but the sushi wasn't moving on the belt. I placed my order using the iPad on the table. I ordered various types of sushi like tuna, sea bream, and horse mackerel. The 10-piece sushi set with chawanmushi for 1188 yen is quite a good deal. The sushi pieces are small, so men might need to order extra to feel full. The mackerel at the end was average. The grilled sea bream with rock salt had delicious firm flesh, but the rock salt was too salty. Overall, it was a revolving sushi restaurant without many standout features.

I went to the Canal City store of Hira Shiro on August 4, 2020. This place is located on the 4th floor of Canal City in Hakata, Fukuoka. I was attracted by the menu displayed at the storefront and decided to enter. The menu included medium fatty tuna, sea urchin, salmon roe, and chawanmushi for 1000 yen excluding tax. Additionally, on weekdays, you can get free miso soup with fish head. This is a great deal that makes you want to try it. The menu is usually priced at 120 yen for 2 pieces. What arrived was an unbelievable feast for 1000 yen (tax included). It came with chawanmushi, providing a great sense of satisfaction. The miso soup had plenty of fish head in it and was delicious. The sushi was made with high-quality ingredients. Just looking at it makes your mouth water. The tuna was medium fatty, and the yellowtail was rich and delicious. The shrimp and conger eel were also large. The highlight was definitely the salmon roe and sea urchin. It was a very satisfying high-end sushi lunch. The store is located at 1-2 Sumiyoshi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, 4th floor of Canal City Hakata. Closed on holidays.

Rotating sushi restaurant "Heishiro". Although the main store is located in Kitakyushu, on this day I visited the branch on the 4th floor of Canal City in Hakata, Fukuoka. I ordered dishes such as whelk for 150 yen, yellowtail belly, seared scallop, sea bream for 250 yen, salt-seared sea bream, shrimp assortment for 300 yen, and tuna assortment for 500 yen. The prices mentioned are excluding tax. The sushi rice was warm and the seasoning was decent. However, the sushi toppings were small and lacked freshness and flavor, which was disappointing. It felt like the quality and price of the sushi did not quite meet expectations for a large-scale rotating sushi chain. It was also unfortunate that despite several people at the condiment station, the service was a bit slow. On the positive side, I liked that most of the sushi was carefully handcrafted with a sense of unity, rather than just placing toppings on rice balls.

During my first visit to Kyushu in July 2023, I explored the city of Hakata. It took less than 2 hours by plane to reach Fukuoka Airport, which was very convenient. From the airport, I quickly took the subway to Hakata. After dropping off my luggage at the hotel, I went out to explore and have lunch. Since it was past lunchtime, I decided to try a sushi restaurant in a commercial facility near my hotel. It was a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but you had to order using a touch panel as the plates were not circulating much. The atmosphere and quality were average, but I found it a bit pricey after eating a lot.

This restaurant is just terrible in terms of cost performance. The taste is average like Sushiro, but the red shrimp costs 600 yen, and the highball I ordered was filled with so much ice that there was hardly any liquid in it. It made me feel like I was being taken advantage of.

The rotating sushi is a bit pricey, starting at a minimum of 200 yen. The taste is decent, but the limited quantity makes it hard to feel satisfied.
