I went to a grilled mackerel restaurant, but there was still over 30 minutes until opening time. So, I decided to visit "Kikuchiku Coffee Shop Across Fukuoka" to pass the time and cool off. I ordered an iced latte for 600 yen. The iced latte had a rich aroma, with a slightly adult-oriented blend of acidity and bitterness from the authentic coffee, and a smooth sweetness from the milk. It was a very good iced latte! The atmosphere of the shop was nice and relaxing. Oops, I'm starting to lose track of time. I better hurry back to the grilled mackerel restaurant! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant at lunchtime. The place was about 80% full, and it was relatively small. There seemed to be quite a few employees. I ordered the Danish Maribo Cheese Toast Set (1050 yen) that I had been curious about for a while, and it took about 15-20 minutes for it to come out. The sandwich came out relatively quickly. When it arrived, I was surprised. The toast was thick with plenty of cheese on top. It was visually impressive. The serving tray was also very cute, like a traditional cafe. When I tasted it, I was even more surprised. The cheese was stretchy and the bread was soaked in butter. It was very delicious. Because of the cheese, it was quite filling. The portion size was also quite generous. You could choose coffee as a drink, which even came with whipped cream. The coffee was hot, smooth, and easy to drink. The whipped cream was light and not too sweet. I realized once again how great coffee at cafes can be. Payment was cash only. The kind staff complimented my bag, which made a positive impression. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I had some time before the lunch service I was planning to go to, so I decided to stop by here. I thought I would just have coffee, but I was intrigued by the 11 yen toast, so I ordered it. For coffee, I chose the shop's specialty, the Ice Au Lait Glacé (660 yen). They only accept cash. It arrived in about 20 minutes, coffee shops sure are laid-back. The toast had butter on it, but it didn't have much flavor and was a bit cold. The Ice Au Lait turned out to be a sweet milk drink, as expected. It wasn't really the best choice to have with toast, haha.

Today, I visited a cafe located in Acros Fukuoka. Since I was nearby, I decided to go in. The interior of the cafe only had table seating, and the number of seats was not very large. Customers ranged from individuals to groups of people. There was a diverse range of customers in terms of age and gender. I ordered the "Sandwich Set" as it had a display outside for me to choose from. There were 5 sandwich options to choose from, and I picked the Bonita sandwich which contained boiled chicken, potato salad, and vegetables. The set included a salad, minestrone soup, fruits, and a drink. The sandwich had more volume than I expected and the flavor was good. The balance of salad, soup, fruits, and drink was nice as well. They also had other bread and dessert options on the menu. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

Located in the underground of Tenjin Acros, this café can be accessed from the underground shopping area, making it convenient even on rainy days. It opens at 9:30 in the morning, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a sweet break, and closes at 7:30 in the evening, suitable for dinner as well. Despite its retro vibe, it exudes a sense of beauty and cleanliness. The clientele seemed to be diverse in age, making it accessible to all. The signature dish, the Kokura Toast Set for 950 yen, features a thick baguette with butter, red bean paste, and whipped cream. The generous filling and thick slices make it quite filling, with even one piece enough to satisfy most women. Served with a hot coffee, which comes with whipped cream, the combination is delightful. The chilled silver container with fresh whipped cream complements the coffee perfectly, creating a delicious drink without the need for sugar or milk. I highly recommend ordering coffee as your drink choice.

Before watching a stage play at Hakataza, I stopped by Acros for a meal to cool off. It's not a chain store, but a cozy cafe that caught my eye. It was full when I arrived, but I only had to wait a bit before getting a seat. I ordered a sandwich set, and there were so many sandwich options to choose from! The sandwich was delicious, but unfortunately, the soup that came with the set was too salty and overcooked, making it too spicy to drink. That was the only downside! They have a wide variety on the menu, so I would like to try other sandwiches or pancakes next time.

I came to Acros Fukuoka for the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra's regular concert. Since I had some time before the opening, and I felt thirsty, I decided to have a light meal downstairs. I found a café and entered. They told me to sit wherever I liked, so I took a seat. Even though it was evening, the place was crowded and there weren't many seats available. I couldn't find anything that caught my eye, so I chose the ham and egg sandwich set. When it arrived, I was surprised by the huge portion. Despite the high price, the menu was extensive. The sandwich had a homemade feel with a tasty egg filling. The salad was made with sunny lettuce, which I didn't find particularly delicious. The soup tasted like it was from a can. I would have preferred a coffee refill instead. The coffee was well-balanced, with little acidity or bitterness, making it suitable for everyone. The service can make or break the experience. A specific person didn't even respond to me. They should improve their training.

Customers at Acros seem to be mostly seniors who come for hobbies or errands, rather than those who come to shop or play in Tenjin. Over 80% of the customers were seniors, while the rest were individuals working alone. The variety of drinks is abundant, with a selection of sweets and meal options also available. The tables are closely spaced, and depending on the time of day, it can be quite bustling despite the chic interior. I ordered the honey and lemon juice (660 yen), which was made with the juice of one lemon blended with a mixer. It had a slight foam on top and although it had ice in it, it felt slippery when drinking, which was surprising at first. However, it seems you are supposed to mix it yourself. Even after the ice melted, it remained rich and not diluted, which was just right. The lemon acidity was strong, but the honey aroma and sweetness followed, making it seem good for the throat. I thought it was a hidden gem being underground, but even past lunchtime, customers kept coming in one after another, making it a popular cafe that was always full.

I had tea with my friends at a cafe in Acros. We had a handmade freshly squeezed Mont Blanc cake set with whipped cream, giving it a retro feel. It was delicious! The kids had cola float and melon cream soda. It was nice to relax in this old-fashioned coffee shop. I want to try their sandwiches next time. #Fukuoka Gourmet #Fukuoka Cafe #Acros Fukuoka #Mont Blanc #Cake Set #Melon Cream Soda #Kikuchiku Coffee Shop #Old-fashioned Coffee Shop

(2023.04.27) The rooftop green space "Step Garden" created on the south side of Acros Fukuoka, which opened in 1995, has been integrated with Tenjin Central Park over nearly 30 years, resembling a beautiful forest, and is loved as an oasis for citizens. In conjunction with the opening of Acros Fukuoka, "Kikuchiku Coffee Shop" was opened, which is expected to have been in business for over 30 years, having previously operated in Tenjin Sanchome. The shop has 15 tables and 30 seats, with a cozy atmosphere created by warm lighting, making it a comfortable place to relax. The interior is adorned with Royal Copenhagen plates, creating a high-quality space, and the majority of customers are older ladies, making it a pleasant place to spend time. Instead of trendy fluffy pancakes, the appeal of thick-cut toast and sandwiches is unmatched, so I decided to try the "Denmark Maribo Cheese Toast". The toast, generously topped with cheese and baked, had a thickness of nearly 50mm, allowing me to enjoy a crispy texture while also savoring the sweetness and flavor of the soft and fluffy dough. The cheese with a bounce was relatively light, so despite the generous portion, it did not feel heavy, allowing me to enjoy a hint of acidity and flavor. While some places quickly serve the drink first when ordering a drink set, here they timed the toast perfectly, providing a thoughtful service, and the nostalgic whipped cream added a touch of nostalgia to the experience.

On the basement 2nd floor of Acros Fukuoka, there is a retro-style café where you can enjoy coffee, sandwiches, and toast. One recommended item is the Denmark Maribo Cheese Toast Set (1050 yen), which includes toast, salad, and a drink. The thick and fluffy toast is generously topped with delicious cheese that stretches out beautifully. The cheese has a rich and authentic flavor, and the bread is soft and fluffy. The café is popular, with even a full house on Saturdays around 1 PM, attracting a wide range of customers from older to younger generations. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great place to relax. Kikuchiku Coffee Shop located on the basement floor of Acros Fukuoka. I ordered the Denmark Maribo Cheese Toast Set. The set comes with coffee and salad. The soft French bread is topped with thickly sliced Denmark Maribo cheese. When you take a bite, the cheese stretches out like in a cheese toast from a storybook. It's the ideal cheese toast. The coffee comes with whipped cream on top, so I went with Vienna Coffee. It was light and refreshing without any bitterness, reminding me once again that coffee from a coffee shop is delicious. I wanted to try the Mont Blanc for dessert, but maybe next time.

A friend recommended a restaurant that I visited for the first time. It had a nice atmosphere and I usually passed by it in the basement of Acros. The lunch set included a sandwich, and for an additional 200 yen, I got a Mont Blanc dessert and a drink, all for 1210 yen. It was great for both my stomach and wallet. ^_^

I was thinking about having lunch near the business meeting location. I wanted something not too heavy so I wouldn't get sleepy during the meeting. I happened to come across this place. The delicious sandwich came with salad and soup, and even the coffee, which I usually drink black, was served with cream. I was grateful and it was delicious. The harpsichord background music and the decor created a calm atmosphere, making it a very satisfying experience!

There was a sign outside the shop saying "Takeout coffee for 280 yen", so I decided to go in. Inside, the blended coffee was priced at 480 yen. This old-established coffee shop, which has been around for over 30 years, is known for its top-quality coffee, homemade pancakes, sweet potatoes, chocolate cake, and more. The coffee was delicious.

I ordered a cheese toast set. The cheese flavor wasn't as strong as it looked, but it was not overwhelming and I could also enjoy a famous Mont Blanc dessert. For an additional 220 yen, you could add a mini Mont Blanc to the set, which I thought was a good deal. The Mont Blanc was deliciously sweet and didn't get soggy even after some time. The staff were friendly and attentive, constantly refilling our water. However, the restaurant was quite popular and there were people waiting outside, so it might be difficult to relax during lunchtime.

This is the first time I've tried something other than coffee. It's a café located in the basement of Acros Fukuoka. They offer great lunch and cake sets at a reasonable price, and I have visited a few times. This time, I chose the peach banana juice. I couldn't really taste the peach, but the banana juice was easy to drink! It was a bit warm, so I let it sit for a while until it cooled down. The calm atmosphere and affordable prices are wonderful. I will definitely go back again.

This is my first time at "Kikuta Coffee Shop Acros Fukuoka". It's nice to be able to reach the shop through the underground passage, especially on hot or rainy days. There were customers having business meetings and solo customers, with a steady stream of people coming in even on weekday mornings. The shop is small but popular. I had the Denmark Maribo Cheese Toast Set for 920 yen. The cheese was thick and stretchy, and the toast was also thick. It was delicious. The interior of the shop is decorated with lots of Copenhagen plates, making it cute. Most customers were solo, making it a cozy atmosphere. I also got a mini Mont Blanc for an additional 220 yen, which was freshly squeezed and tasty. For my drink, I chose the hot coffee, which came with cream on top - Vienna Coffee. The cup was cute and the coffee was delicious. Vienna Coffee is great. There are still many other menu items that caught my eye, so I'll have to come back.

It is located on the B2 floor of the complex facility Across Fukuoka in Fukuoka Tenjin. I went to an event held in the event hall in the facility, but I arrived a little early, so it was snack time at exactly 3:00 pm, so I took a break and passed the time. In front of the store, there are displays of standard products and daily specials, so you can decide on your order and enter. What caught my eye was the grapefruit shortcake. Grapefruit in a shortcake is quite unusual, right? In the display in front of the store, grapefruit was topped with whipped cream and ice cream, but in reality, it was only grapefruit. This was a downside. The taste was delicious with the harmonious bitterness and acidity of the grapefruit and the refreshing cream with a rich acidity. Cakes on their own have good value for money, but be careful as the price increases when you add a drink set.
