At first glance, it seemed like the portion might not be enough, but it turned out to be delicious and satisfying. The curry looked mild, but it had a rich flavor. It's a hidden gem by the riverside. I love this kind of atmosphere. Thank you for the meal! By the way, I've been researching about starting a family bath recently.

"Alicia's Food Log: I've been curious about this curry place by the bank of the Onga River for a while now. When you park your car, you can overlook the river. It might be even nicer when it's a little warmer, right? Today's target is the Ayurveda Curry! My partner got the Cheese Omelette Curry. The Ayurveda Curry has three types of curry - red tomato, white coconut, and green spinach. The salad is plentiful. The calm female owner serves you slowly. It makes you feel calm too. The curry doesn't have a strong punch, but you can definitely taste the spices. They are gentle spices. The Cheese Omelette is also gentle and fluffy. Maybe it's the owner's vibe, but all the female customers here were gentle and cute. Thank you for the meal."

I was intrigued by a sign that read "Ayurveda Curry" and made a U-turn to check it out with a colleague who loves spicy curry. We were driving around near the Iizuka City Hall trying to decide where to have lunch. It was past 12 o'clock when we arrived! The exterior of the restaurant had a fairy-tale-like cafe feel to it. Inside, various decorations gave the space a whimsical atmosphere, making us forget we were near the Onga River. There were about 5-6 counter seats and tables in the back. The menu was quite extensive, with cafe and dessert options available. From the spicy curry menu, we ordered the Ayurveda Curry Lunch Plate for 1380 yen, which came with salad, soup, and a drink. You could also change the rice to enzyme brown rice. The plate arrived with three vibrant curries. The owner kindly explained each one. We started by topping the mountain of vegetables with carrot dressing. It was so satisfying to eat all those veggies! The red tomato curry and green spinach curry were said to be spicy, but even as someone who doesn't like spicy food, I found them to be pleasantly mild. The yellow chickpeas added a nice touch. The overall gentle spiciness made it easy to enjoy! The owner kept chatting with us about the restaurant, so we learned a lot and felt at ease. If it weren't for work, I would have loved to stay longer. The interior was forest-themed, with owl figurines taking center stage. It seemed like customers also brought in owl items, showing how beloved the place is. My colleague led me into the forest, but it was a cozy spot where you could escape reality. It might be a bit of a waste for salarymen to visit during work hours. Thank you for the meal.

I found this restaurant on SNS and really wanted to go when I went back home for a visit, so I dragged my mother along. It didn't show up on my GPS, but Google Maps had it. The latest navigation systems are not very smart. It was Saturday lunchtime, and the customers were mostly women dining alone, relaxing. We were seated in a tatami room because my son was with us. They recommended the lunch plate from 11 am to 2 pm, which came with vegetable soup. You can upgrade to enzyme brown rice for an extra 200 yen, which we did. My son has severe allergies, so we also ordered an enzyme brown rice onigiri for 250 yen. The curry had three colors and each was delicious. There were plenty of vegetables and homemade carrot dressing. Everything was really tasty, but I wished the flavors were a bit stronger... I ended up craving more rice. The thirst that followed was intense, so if they could reduce the salt and make the flavors milder, it would be perfect for my taste. The onigiri was so delicious that my son stole some.

It is also good to call it an oasis in Iizuka. Located along the Onga River, this cafe also offers spiritual counseling and serves as a local gathering place. Upon entering the shop, the soothing jazz music playing in the background creates a calming atmosphere. The female staff, possibly the owner, is very friendly and easy to talk to. The menu includes their recommended curry rice, hot sandwiches, and sweets. I tried the "Sakura Sakura" Japanese dessert, which consisted of matcha and vanilla ice cream with shiratama (mochi balls) and azuki beans. As I enjoyed the dessert, the rustic sweetness of brown sugar subtly emerged, creating a slightly different flavor. After a 27km run that day, my body was craving something sweet, so I quickly finished the dessert. I look forward to trying their recommended curry rice next time.
