I love カリー
On September 16, 2017 (Saturday), I visited a hotel with a standard plan called "Enjoy the Hot Springs ☆ Dinner and Breakfast Buffet Included / 1 Night 2 Meals 12,450 yen per person". My busy wife finally managed to take a few consecutive days off, so we decided to go to a hot spring. We were looking for a place with a room with a bath, preferably Hirafutei or Adagio, but during the autumn long weekend starting from this day, all the places had high prices, which made us hesitate. We reviewed the plans and started searching, and we found this inn, which had recently been reopened after being purchased by a Chinese company that had previously closed down. The room didn't have a bath and the meals were buffet style, but the price was 12,450 yen per person including the bathing tax. After deducting the points from Jalan, it was 11,600 yen, so we made a quick decision and booked it. We checked in at 4:00 PM at this place next to the Kogatei. There was a Chinese woman at the front desk, and she explained the stay to us. Since the operating company is Chinese, there are probably many Chinese guests, so it makes sense to have Chinese staff, which can be a plus. Our room was on the 6th floor facing the lake on the 8-story building, and it seemed like we could have a good view of the long-run fireworks display. However, despite the consideration for overseas guests, having a bed in a Japanese-style room felt quite awkward. The room also had a slight smell. But considering the reasonable price, we accepted it. Before dinner, we soaked in the hot spring. Although the facilities were renovated, the hot spring seemed like it hadn't been touched much. However, it wasn't in a problematic state, and the quality and temperature of the water were good, so we warmed up nicely. Dinner was served in the restaurant on the 2nd floor starting at 5:00 PM, and we went at 6:30 PM. The venue was not very spacious, but it wasn't too crowded as expected. About half of the guests were of Asian descent, and this time, there were many Korean guests. The food was similar to other hotels, but there was no sashimi or tempura, and instead, we had all-you-can-eat snow crab legs. It was a bit disappointing that there were no hair crabs or king crabs, but the snow crab legs were well-cooked with plenty of meat, which made us happy. There were no flashy cooking demonstrations, but there were many dishes, all of which were delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. We watched the fireworks from our room starting at 8:45 PM. From the hot springs to the meals, and then the fireworks... It was a moment when we thought it was great to come to Lake Toya. The next morning, breakfast was served from 7:00 AM in the same venue as the previous evening. It was much more crowded than the previous evening, and some people had to wait for a table even after putting food on their trays. We arrived at 7:00 AM sharp, so we didn't have trouble finding a seat, but something should be done to address this issue. The food was average without any special features compared to the previous evening. However, there were many varieties, and the taste was good, so even though I don't usually eat in the morning, I managed to eat three bowls of rice that day. I was so full that I took a short rest in the room after eating. We checked out after 8:00 AM, took a walk along the lakeside, and then headed back home. Considering the price, this inn can be said to have good value for money. I have stayed at Sun Palace, Kogatei, and Manseikaku in Lake Toya before, but this inn was not inferior to Kogatei, which I thought had the best food. If you want to keep the price down without compromising the quality of the food, I recommend this inn.
