Before transferring at Ikebukuro, I took a break. The Hope Center was crowded everywhere. I wasn't hungry, so I had a strawberry shave ice and coffee set. There were just a few strawberries on top with something soft and squishy underneath, maybe vanilla ice cream? I ordered the mini size, but it was surprisingly not so mini. Anyway, it was my first time at a cafe in a while, and it was delicious!

I arrived a little before 12:00 and was able to enter smoothly, but by the time I left at 12:30, there was a line forming. I ordered a single pancake with maple syrup and a Star Blend coffee (for an additional 100 yen). During lunchtime, the regular size coffee is a good deal at 330 yen. The pancake took about 20 minutes to arrive, so I ordered coffee first. The coffee was freshly brewed and had a refreshing, hot taste. I really enjoyed the coffee here, as well as the coffee made by the siphonista. The pancake had a slightly crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. The butter had a hint of saltiness, which paired perfectly with the maple syrup.

After work, I visited the Hoshino Coffee shop inside the HOPE Center in Ikebukuro at 5:30 pm on a weekday. The shop was full, so I had to wait 5 minutes to get a seat. I wanted to try the seasonal parfait with strawberries and pistachios with a drink for 1230 yen excluding tax, but they didn't offer it at the HOPE Center branch. Instead, I got the mini strawberry and pistachio parfait set with a drink for 950 yen excluding tax. I chose iced coffee as my drink (the mini parfait alone costs 600 yen). The parfait glass was topped with half-cut strawberries, whipped cream, raspberry ice cream, and strawberry sauce. Inside the glass, there was whipped cream, sponge cake, pistachio ice cream, and strawberry jam. It was a delicious mini parfait full of strawberries for when you're feeling a bit peckish. Thank you for the meal!

Visited around 2:00 pm on a holiday. Waited in line for about 10 minutes before being seated. Ordered items: - New Year's Coffee (650 yen tax included) - Cafe Latte (620 yen tax included) Seated in a partitioned area, creating a semi-private atmosphere. The space is a bit cramped and there are no outlets. With no windows, there is not much of an open feeling, but it was a calm and relaxing environment.

During the New Year holidays, I went shopping and got tired from walking, so I took a little break. I stopped by this shop inside Tobu Hope Center, but there was a line of about four people in front of the shop, probably because it was snack time. However, there were round chairs for waiting, so I waited for about 10 minutes before entering the shop. I ordered the Hoshino Blend. I don't have much of a preference for coffee, but the nice balance of bitterness and aroma was very good and delicious. My companion was eating pudding, which was not too sweet and very tasty. I had eaten a lot of ramen earlier, so I couldn't handle solid food. The atmosphere is nice, the service is good, and the coffee is delicious, but the only downside was that the seating was cramped.

I used the 750 yen morning set. I had coffee. It was a bit disappointing that the person who brought it placed it on the table quite carelessly, causing it to spill. However, it was delicious. I will come back again. Thank you for the meal!

In early May 2022, I revisited the café after finishing my visit to the hospital. Lately, dining out has become something I only do after visiting the hospital. I no longer go out specifically for dining. As you get older, health and illness become the center of life. On this day, I finished at the hospital early and decided to go to Ikebukuro. By 10 a.m., only cafes were open, so I chose Hoshino Coffee located in the Ikebukuro Tobu Hope Center, even though it's a bit hard to find. Despite the early hour, the café was full of customers. I ordered the ¥750 "French Toast Set" which came with a boiled egg and a small salad. I also had a cup of the "Hoshino Blend" coffee. I was worried that having French toast in the morning might make me feel heavy, but the portion was just right. It was nice to have French toast after a long time. The atmosphere at Hoshino Coffee was, as always, pleasant.

<Recommended for people like this>■- → → → Arrived around 4 pm on Saturday. There were 3 groups waiting, but we were seated in about 10 minutes. [French Toast] 700 yen ✅ A large serving of French toast. Topped with whipped cream, you can also add maple syrup to your liking. ✅ The toast is very fluffy and moist, and the deliciousness is beyond what you would expect from a chain store's French toast. It's also filling, so it can be used as a meal. The only downside is that it gets heavier as you eat. I recommend sharing it. (Other) ・ The restaurant seems crowded on weekdays and weekends. ・ Many solo customers, and the pocket WiFi signal is good. However, there are no outlets, so it's not suitable for working. =================================== Thank you for reading. On a holiday morning after 8:30 AM, due to the impact of the coronavirus, there are fewer shops open for morning business inside Ikebukuro Station, and some shops that do offer morning sets are opening later than usual. I decided to have a morning meal after a long time, but I felt a bit hesitant about whether to have a morning set or something for dinner. I came across a fruit sandwich and decided to order it with any drink. I chose apple juice. The service was quick, I didn't have to wait long at all.
Review:
- The apple juice was nicely chilled and sweet.
- The fruit sandwich had a cute wrapper, but the shape seemed a bit stiff, giving the impression that it was pre-made. The bread felt cold and dry, making me wonder if it was made in advance. The filling had a generous amount of blueberry jam, but the bread was dry and had a sandy texture. The strawberries were sour, the strawberry-banana combination was sweet and pleasant, the kiwi lacked flavor (seemed overripe), the orange was good, and the blueberry jam was sweet and dominant.
- The cream was delicious, but I wished there was more of it to balance out the dry bread.
- I finished the meal in about 10 minutes, despite not finding it delicious. I guess that's the nature of a foodie – I eat everything, even if it's not great.
Overall, the dry bread really brought down the quality of the fruit sandwich. It's a shame, as I usually have a good impression of the food here. I'll probably come back again, but I'll make sure to stick to the morning menu next time. When I mentioned to the staff at the checkout that the bread was dry, they just apologized in a mechanical way. I guess it's a common response? Well, I'll come back again with the intention of providing feedback, as I do plan to return for a different, delicious lunch as a form of revenge! Thank you for the meal.

☆Ikebukuro Station, Tobu Hope Center Basement☆ I had a meeting for about an hour at the cafe "Hoshino Coffee" in Ikebukuro, while enjoying a cafe au lait. The interior is calm, and many people come alone. Perhaps it's because each seat is nicely separated, creating a sense of comfort. Thank you for the meal.

In the morning at Tobu Hope Center, I mistakenly thought it was 30 minutes later than it actually was. As I get older, these kinds of mistakes happen more often. When I'm not working, I tend to relax too much. I decided to have a leisurely coffee at the café. I ordered the "Thick Toast & Boiled Egg Morning Set with Iced Coffee" (550 yen) as the morning sign was displayed. The iced coffee had a strong bitterness and a rich taste, making it refreshing. The thick toast was delicious, perfectly toasted to bring out the aroma and flavor. The boiled egg was simple but tasty. As I was about to leave, I couldn't resist the "Showa Era Pudding" (500 yen) that a lady was eating. It was a traditional pudding with a rich egg flavor, not overly smooth or sticky. It was simply delicious. I should have just left after that, but I saw the "Spring Special" menu and couldn't resist ordering the Strawberry Pudding a la Mode for just 180 yen more. I regretted my impulsive decision but enjoyed the indulgence. I promised myself not to order impulsively in the future, but it seems I keep repeating the same mistake. Oh well, at least the impulsive choices are always delicious. (Laughs) (By Kyonatsu Shuusora, 2021.3.17)

Time adjustment. How about having some tea somewhere? My eyes stopped at the signboard of Ikebukuro Hoshino, which is famous for its long lines. Since I had some time to spare, I decided to casually head over there. The dining area of Hoshino Center is located at the very back. Despite it being 2 pm on a weekend, there was no wait. In fact, there were a few empty seats. I was seated right away. Since there was no wait, I had some extra time, so I thought I might as well have some hotcakes. Oven-baked thick pancake 1 piece 530 yen, drink set L size 400 yen + 100 yen. I ordered the Hoshino blend drink with an additional 100 yen for the L size. The pancake takes about 20 minutes to bake. I drank the coffee I received while waiting. You can choose from sauce, honey, maple syrup, or black honey to put on the pancake. I always choose maple syrup for my pancakes, so I went with that without hesitation. The thick pancake arrived. I spread butter on it while it was hot, poured plenty of syrup, and enjoyed it! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The syrup seeping into the bubbles was delightful. I enjoyed it with the coffee that I could gulp down. If it's always this empty, it's great, but it's probably because of the coronavirus pandemic.

I felt like having something sweet after lunch at a nearby cafe, so I came here. I tried the pancakes at Hoshino Coffee before at another store, and they were just right! As expected. I couldn't resist ordering them again. My boyfriend had the regular souffle pancakes with coffee, while I ordered the chocolate souffle pancakes with hot milk tea. It took about 20 minutes for the pancakes to be ready, so we sipped on our drinks in the meantime. The milk served with the tea was nice and warm. When the pancakes arrived, my boyfriend had maple syrup on his, while mine had chocolate ice cream on top. Unfortunately, the ice cream melted a bit on the way to the table due to the hot pancakes. But the pancakes were delicious, with a nice crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. The chocolate was slightly bitter and generously drizzled on top. The pancakes were so satisfying that we didn't feel hungry until dinner. The pancakes really hit the spot! Thank you for the meal!

Mrs. and I took a leisurely stroll in the afternoon. We stopped by to take a break. Mrs. had the pancake coffee set. - Double Banana and Chocolate Ice Cream Souffle Pancake * Soft and gently sweet, delicious even on its own! It came with maple syrup, but we didn't use it. The combination of banana and chocolate is excellent, so of course banana, chocolate ice cream, and pancake go well together! I just had a little bit of Mrs.'s, so I only got a drink... - Sparkling Lemonade * The sweetness and acidity are just right to soothe the tired body from the heat! It disappeared quickly. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located deep in the underground shopping street, it is a bit hard to gauge the crowd but has a fairly calm atmosphere. The food is decently above average, with a slightly higher price point, but the coffee has a nice aroma and is just right for relaxing. The staff's operation is good, and their recommendations and guidance were pleasant to hear, so I plan to revisit.

After dinner, I stopped by for some coffee and cake. The original blend from Hoshino Coffee had a strong bitterness that paired well with the sweets. Adding cream made it milder, allowing for different flavor experiences in just one cup. I chose the limited-time Mont Blanc souffle cake. It took about 20 minutes to bake after ordering, but it was worth it for the fluffy texture. It was incredibly sweet, so those with a sweet tooth would surely be satisfied. The interior of the shop had a calming atmosphere with soft lighting and furniture, providing a luxurious and relaxing experience. It's a great place for friends, couples, or even solo visitors.

This time, I visited Hoshino Coffee Shop at Ikebukuro Higashi Hope Center. I went there during lunchtime and ordered the Hoshino Blend. They have a variety of coffee beans and the menu is easy to understand, so even if you're not very knowledgeable, you can choose based on your mood. You can enjoy some alone time reading a book or have a chat with friends. This time, I relaxed and enjoyed a conversation with a friend inside the shop. It's a great place to leisurely savor coffee during cafe time. Thank you very much.

My wife caught the pancake craving, so we went for lunch. It was around noon and there were already 2-3 groups waiting, but we were seated right away. We ordered:
- Crab cream croquette and ginger pork set for 830 yen (My wife loves crab cream, but she wished the croquette was fried a bit crispier. Overall, it was just average.)
- Shrimp tomato cream omelette rice gratin for 830 yen (I ordered this, and it was delicious with flavorful sauce, fluffy eggs, and gooey cheese. My wife loved it too!)
- Lunch drink for 280 yen each (We had the Hoshino blend and Hikoboshi blend, which had a strong roast and good bitterness. When you order food, drinks are half price.)
- Souffle pancake single for 530 yen (We had it with maple syrup. It was fluffy and delicious, more like a traditional hotcake. Thick, fluffy, and incredibly tasty!)
- Baked souffle for 550 yen (We had it with chocolate sauce. Soft texture, perfect sweetness, and delicious chocolate sauce. It was a different but tasty experience when dipped. Goes well with the bitter Hikoboshi coffee.
The restaurant had a calm atmosphere, and the staff were efficient and left a good impression. Thank you for the meal. We will definitely come back.

The other day I had some errands in Ikebukuro and decided to visit a cafe I had been curious about for a while. I was planning on just having coffee, but ended up ordering the omurice gratin because it looked incredibly delicious! When I tried it, the fluffy egg paired perfectly with the sauce and it was really tasty! I was very satisfied! I will definitely visit again!

Hoshino Coffee in Tobu Hope Center in Ikebukuro is a hidden gem. I always order the souffle pancakes when I come to Hoshino Coffee, but this time I just had the Hoshino blend tea and roll cake since I had already eaten lunch. Both the drinks and sweets were consistently good. I think I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.
