■Overall, I use this restaurant quite often, but I tend to order the same menu items, so the number of reviews is low for the frequency of visits. However, this time the new menu was really good, so I decided to leave a review. Also, this is my favorite sushi restaurant other than Michelin-starred ones. That's probably why it's always so crowded.
■Scallop
There was always scallop on the menu, but this time it was larger. This sushi restaurant emphasizes the size of their ingredients in their commercials and TV food reports, but usually, sushi with large toppings can be difficult to eat. However, this larger scallop was incredibly delicious. It reminded me of the scallop I had at an izakaya near Rusutsu in Hokkaido.
■Seared Salmon and Squid
I always order either seared salmon or squid here, and they are delicious. The salmon is marinated in miso, while the squid is slightly less flavorful compared to the amazing spear squid I had last time.
■Beltfish Tempura
Even though it's a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, they serve tempura. The tempura here is really delicious, with a crispy texture. I haven't been to Hiraoni in about five years, but I make up for it by eating a lot of tempura here. Actually, I think the tempura here is even better.
■Seared Salmon with Mayo
Earlier, I had the miso-marinated salmon, but this one has mayo. Both are delicious.
■Eringi Mushroom, Nameko Mushroom, Crab-Flavored Salad, Salmon Roe
I realized that since it was early, the dishes arrived quickly in succession. The salmon roe was delicious, with the crispy seaweed of the battleship roll being a nice touch.
■Eggplant Miso
This is a type of sushi with fried eggplant. I used to think the best one was at a sushi restaurant called Taiga Sushi, but this one is very close to that level of deliciousness. And it's affordable. It was so tasty. And, as always, it was a great meal.
