After eating fish the day before, I ended up going to Kyozushi on Sunday (lol). Since meat and fish are my main foods, it's okay to eat them every day. By the time lunchtime passed and it was around 2 pm, there were almost full parking lots with a wait of 10 groups. While waiting, I looked at the recommended menu for the day and made my plan. When I was seated, they asked if I was a member of their email club, and since I was, they switched the ordering terminal to the member version for me. They did the same for my friend's terminal since I was registered. Being a member, I was able to order the grilled eel at half price before it ran out, so I ordered it right away! Then, I casually ordered different dishes, picking from the items passing by on the conveyor belt and ordering specific ones that were not available on it. There were higher-priced dishes available that could be ordered as a single piece, so unintentionally, I ended up with all white plates that day (tax included at 138 yen each). Here are my thoughts on the things I ate for the first time or found particularly delicious that day:
- Grilled Squid with Mayonnaise: I wondered why I hadn't eaten this before! I ordered the eel first and randomly picked this one from the items passing by. It was unexpectedly delicious, and I even thought about ordering another plate (lol). It seemed like a regular menu item rather than a daily special or limited edition, so I decided to wait until next time to eat it again. I love squid, and the combination of the grilled flavor and creamy mayonnaise was irresistible.
- Yellowtail Belly: I ordered this as an additional piece when I still felt a bit hungry. It was so thick that it felt firm and meaty, and it was delicious.
- Shrimp Tempura with Chili Sauce: This was also my first time trying it! If it hadn't been written on the separate sheet of today's recommendations, I might not have noticed it. Since it wasn't passing by on the conveyor belt for a while, I decided to order it. It was crispy and freshly fried, and the chili sauce was mild in spiciness. The shrimp tempura itself was so tasty that I didn't feel like I needed more spice. The soft and less vinegary rice paired well with the shrimp tempura, making it feel like a bite-sized shrimp tempura rice bowl rather than traditional sushi.
- Black Tea Jelly: This was also my first time trying it, or rather, the first time seeing it! There were other desserts like mini sundaes made with ice cream sprayed with colored chocolate, cakes, coffee pudding, almond jelly, etc., on the conveyor belt. I've never seen so many desserts at the Konyamachi store where I go the most. Maybe this store is more family-friendly with more desserts. The black tea jelly tasted more like lemon tea jelly than black tea. It reminded me of Limone (Suntory's bottled lemon tea), and it was quite delicious.
I already want to go back soon to eat the grilled squid with mayonnaise. The Konyamachi store is going to be closed for a while, so I might go to the Kanajimachi store or the station store. I have no intention of drinking, but when I casually looked at the drink menu, I was surprised to see Yona Yona Ale and Jazz Berry. I can understand Yona Yona, but Jazz Berry was quite a shock. Maybe there are unexpected differences between stores. This adds to the excitement of trying out different stores.
