I visit Cocoichi once or twice a year. Today, I visited after about six months and noticed that they added a 20-spice level to their menu. Previously, the highest was 10-spice, but now they have 15-spice and 20-spice options. As a fan of super spicy food, I naturally chose the maximum 20-spice level. The menu stated that only those who have finished the 15-spice level can order the 20-spice level, but I didn't hesitate and ordered it anyway. I had the Pork Cutlet Curry 300g with 20-spice level for 1,078 yen. The curry sauce looked thick and grainy, probably due to the abundance of chili peppers and spices. As for the spiciness, it was indeed very hot, but honestly, I couldn't really tell the difference from the 10-spice level. The spiciness level increases by 24 times from 10-spice to 15-spice, and by 48 times from 10-spice to 20-spice, but I was still okay with it. Despite being so spicy, I could still taste the deliciousness of the curry, which is typical of Cocoichi. It was a very tasty curry. Whenever I eat extremely spicy ramen, I used to compare the spiciness level to Cocoichi's, but now I have a wider range of spiciness levels to compare to. I will try different levels of spiciness to understand the differences better. By the way, the 15-spice level was added to the menu starting from June 2023, and the 20-spice level was added from September 1, 2023.

Lunch today was with my son at "CoCo Ichibanya Shijo Nawaekanjo-sen Store." It was our first visit. Our orders were as follows (including tax):
Son:
- Pork curry: 1,406 yen
- Fried chicken, cheese, 500g, level 4 spiciness
- Set tuna salad: 245 yen
Me:
- Pork curry: 1,120 yen
- Eggplant, half cream croquette, 1 pork cutlet
- Set tuna salad: 245 yen
Souvenir (for my son):
- Retort pork x2: 314 yen each
- Spicy spice: 328 yen
Here is a brief review:
- Set tuna salad: Both my son and I enjoyed it with Japanese-style dressing. It was delicious!
- Son's curry: The plate was huge! My son mentioned that the spiciness varies by store. The level 3 spiciness he had at another store was very spicy, but this level 4 spiciness was more manageable. He said the cheese helped. He struggled a bit but managed to finish it, with a little help from me with the fried chicken. He seemed a bit uncomfortable but eventually finished it. My son outdid me in both volume and spiciness, making me proud!
- My curry: I ordered eggplant curry with a cream croquette and a pork cutlet. Even with this combination, it was a sufficient amount. It had just the right amount of spiciness and was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

CoCo Ichibanya is a Japanese curry chain restaurant known for its extensive toppings that allow you to customize your curry to your liking. I tried to find a satisfying menu for under 1000 yen and settled on the Menchi Katsu Curry for 820 yen with a side salad for 140 yen, making it a perfect under 1000 yen meal. I ordered it with a spice level of "one spice," but ended up paying 1046 yen due to the extra cost of the spice level. The curry was delicious, but I found that the 350g rice portion was not enough for the curry sauce. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and I enjoyed adjusting the rice and sauce levels to my liking. It was a fun experience, and I appreciate the creativity in ordering that other customers displayed. The Menchi Katsu, pickles, and spicy Worcestershire sauce were my favorite additions to the meal. The balance of rice and sauce is crucial for a curry enthusiast like me, and I found the perfect balance in this meal. It was delicious, and I finished it feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

Tonight I have to work the night shift again, so I couldn't indulge in eating out... I decided to have lunch at a nearby restaurant that doesn't have the best reputation for taste around here... I personally don't have a bad impression of it, but I also don't think it's particularly delicious, so I rarely visit. Around 11:10, with about 20% of the seats filled, I sat at the counter seat furthest in the back... I ordered the restaurant's special beef tendon curry in a regular portion and regular spiciness, with an additional topping of spicy garlic. The food was served in about 7 minutes... The curry was quite ordinary and not bad... There wasn't much meat in it, but the garlic wasn't particularly strong either, just average... I paid with three Jeff Gourmet Cards and received 423 yen in change... I'll do some shopping at Akakabe on the 9th of this month before heading home.

My wife and kids are on a business trip to Nagoya today, so I'm having dinner alone. I finished work a little early and headed to Shijo-nawate City. I arrived at 19:25, but the restaurant's lights were already off. I wondered if I could still dine in, but no one said anything when I entered, so I guess it was okay. I ordered the Chicken Cutlet Curry level 5 spiciness (including tax 919 yen). It was spicy, but I think I've gotten used to it. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
*Side note: My favorite professional shogi player, Shintaro Saito (8th dan), his father owns several CoCo Ichi franchise stores in Osaka, including the one in Shijo-nawate. It is believed to be one of his father's franchise locations. Daruma Food Service Co., Ltd.

Today, I couldn't go to my usual super spicy ramen place, so I visited CoCo Ichibanya nearby for a casual spicy meal. I ordered the Fish Fry Curry with 10 levels of spiciness, topped with extra spicy garlic. It cost 933 yen. CoCo Ichibanya's curry is really delicious. It has a rich and complex flavor without being too overpowering, just like classic curry. The 10 levels of spiciness are quite hot, but if you enjoy extremely spicy food, you'll have fun eating it. I wonder if you can order even spicier options. I enjoyed this junky, super spicy curry while savoring the taste change with garlic.

Emperor is cheering at 3:30 PM on a Tuesday holiday with three groups of customers already seated. For the 300th review milestone, I decided to challenge the extra spicy dish at Coco Ichibanya! Although I enjoy spicy food, I'm not a YouTuber, so I won't be starting at level 10 right away! I've tried the level 5 spicy dish three times before, and last time I found it quite manageable, so this time I debated between level 7 and 8, but ended up chickening out and choosing level 7.
I ordered a vegetable salad for ¥189, added a half-cooked egg topping for ¥73, and also got the handcrafted chicken cutlet for ¥933. I also ordered the level 7 spicy curry for ¥110. They have seasonal salads as well, but personally, I prefer the combination of a half-cooked egg and a plain salad the most!
After finishing the salad, the curry arrived. It seemed darker than usual, which made me a bit nervous. But when I tasted it, I was surprised to find that it was only mildly spicy. It felt like a level 3 spicy dish that I used to eat before. Feeling unsatisfied with the level of spiciness, I added a lot of extra spicy spices halfway through!
I'm not sure if my tolerance for spicy food has increased or if there was a mistake in the preparation, but I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't as spicy as I had imagined. I'll have to try the level 10 challenge next time! The handcrafted chicken cutlet was still as crispy and delicious as ever. Enjoyed my meal!

Hello everyone in May 2018! It's been a while since I've been to CoCo Ichibanya, Japan's largest curry chain, right? The spice curry at CoCo Ichibanya, how is it? As a fan of Western-style curry, I love the sweet and spicy Katsu curry, a classic curry from Kansai region! It has a rich and flavorful taste, very delicious! As expected from CoCo Ichibanya, they adjust the curry flavors to suit the preferences of each region in Japan! "It's spicy! (*≧∀≦*)" While I enjoy this sweet and spicy curry, I have to say, spice curry is not for me! (laughs) It was delicious! Thank you for the meal~♪

Hello October! Today's lunch is from a mobile roadside shop - a hearty CoCo Ichibanya curry! This place is known for its consistent taste and quality, being the number one curry chain in Japan with a nationwide network. They also pay attention to the regional characteristics and flavors. Today's special is the beef curry with kakifurai topping, level 2 spiciness, and a honey sauce drizzle. It's a sweet and spicy Osaka curry! "Maybe I should have gone for level 3 spiciness?" (laughs) It's delicious! The taste is definitely reliable. Thank you for the meal!

I ended up at Kawachiya after running around for a while and realizing it was getting late, and I needed to find somewhere to eat dinner before heading home. There aren't many dining options along the Osaka Outer Loop Road. There's a Shikoku Udon restaurant if you head towards Kashiwara, but I didn't feel like stopping there since I had been there recently. There are other restaurants along the way, but none caught my interest. The same goes for heading towards Takatsuki, with only a tonkatsu restaurant as an option. I was really at a loss for where to eat. So, I decided to go into Kawachiya. I ordered the Seafood Curry with a spice level of 2, while my wife got the Beef Curry with vegetable toppings. We also ordered two Caesar salads. The spiciness at Kawachiya just gets hotter and hotter without much depth of flavor. Even at a level 2 spice, it was quite spicy, with the broth bubbling up. If you want a more specific spiciness, you can use the "Jumping Spicy Spice" on the table. I'll remember that for next time and order the normal spice level.

Hello, February! I parked my car in this garage at 3:00 PM. When you're hungry, your thinking ability diminishes! Beef cutlet curry for 780 yen. I wanted it to be spicier! Wait, isn't it pork curry sauce even though it's beef cutlet... I realized that the oyster fry is only available until the end of February! I'm so hungry! I surrender! Even when you're busy, make sure to have a proper meal! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal! I deeply apologize after reading reviews from before August 2013. I regret my previous comments about the quality and value. I went to a cheap restaurant with low-quality toppings and almost cut my mouth with the cutlet, making me appreciate the overall quality and high standards here. The curry sauce is tailored to the taste of people from Kansai, with a sweet and spicy flavor, and the chain is named after a place in Kansai. The quality and value vary between stores due to being a franchise. The BR store in Nagahori is my favorite here! Changing the spiciness level can really change the flavor of the curry, which I learned for the first time. I regret my stubbornness and not trying it before. The limited menu item Cheese Meatloaf Cutlet Curry with beef sauce, level 5 spiciness was amazing! The Caesar salad was also delicious! The cute staff with a Hello Kitty ribbon added to the experience. The total score is 4.7! The menu mentioned popular dishes from Huis Ten Bosch, but I wonder if Dutch home cooking includes meatloaf? Then the curry arrived! Level 5 spiciness was intense but tasty! This is not your typical curry, it's something else! I regret not ordering spicier curry before. The Cheese Meatloaf Cutlet was delicious, with gooey cheese adding a nice touch. The Caesar salad and curry cost 1210 yen, which is a good value. The staff is cute and comforting. The old man who complained about the price being a bit high for lunch should reflect on his words. The quality, variety of toppings, and ability to customize the curry make this a reliable and trustworthy place to eat. I will choose level 4 spiciness next time! Thank you for the meal! Hello, December 2012! This place offers a consistent and high-quality taste, a wide variety of toppings, customizable spiciness levels, and portion sizes. The cleanliness and reliability of this restaurant are top-notch. I'm always surprised by the bourgeois orders of others who have fallen into the trap of the restaurant's strategy.

CoCo Ichibanya is a very popular chain, but this was my first time visiting this particular location. My child had the kids' curry, and I tried the limited-time oyster curry with spinach topping. The food came out incredibly fast. However, when the curry arrived, it had a lot of spinach on top, which I was happy about, but the curry itself was a bit watery. The spinach topping seemed to be frozen spinach with frost on it. The curry was quite bland. I also tried a bite of the pork cutlet curry, which tasted average. If I go back next time, I would like to try it without any toppings.

CoCo Ichibanya (CoCo Ichi) Sasami Katsu Curry Review (Limited Time Menu)
Located along the 171 Route connecting major highways in Osaka, the CoCo Ichibanya Yonjo-Nawate Gaienjosen store. I visited after a long time! My wife usually doesn't like eating out for curry, so whenever I suggest CoCo Ichibanya, we never end up going. This time, with my wife and kids staying over at a friend's place, I decided to go to CoCo Ichibanya. Normally, I just order curry, but this time, I decided to try the limited-time menu Sasami Katsu Curry with toppings. The portion of katsu was quite generous, but the rice portion was normal, and the spiciness level was also average. CoCo Ichibanya's curry is simple and easy to eat. It's always the same every time I come here. It may not have any unique features, but that's why it's so popular and never gets boring. I would like to try the limited-time Indian curry next time. Thank you for the delicious meal once again. I'm already a repeat customer, but I don't know when I'll be able to come with my wife... I'm on Twitter, so feel free to follow me. Thank you!

From the morning of May 2012, I had meetings one after another and before I knew it, it was already 3:30 PM!! Feeling hungry and even a bit dizzy, I rushed into CoCo Ichibanya! What's this? A collaboration curry? Oh, I think I've seen this before on TV! It seems like it was released on April 12th and is a limited edition with 600,000 servings! You can enjoy three different sauces: a vibrant green curry, a not-so-spicy keema sauce, and a ratatouille sauce. It seems to target women in its promotion, but the luxurious keema curry with limited availability is irresistible to curry lovers! I topped mine with menchi katsu and my junior colleague topped his with katsu! The rice portion has been increased to 300g! As expected, CoCo Ichibanya's curry isn't too spicy, making it suitable even for kids. I personally would prefer a bit more spiciness and a kick of heat, but the well-balanced delicious taste is still enjoyable! Lately, there have been a lot of collaboration products like this. It seems like Mos Burger has something similar too. Maybe I should try it out. We devoured our meals like hungry beasts! Thank you for the delicious meal! ♡♡

I went to Curry House CoCo Ichibanya at the Shijo-Tsudoi-gawa Sotokanko-sen store. This place is familiar, right? When I'm on my way back from being out, I often think, "Let's just grab something to eat on the way home." I ordered the Rosu Katsu Curry with 400g of rice, spice level 2, and extra sauce for 820 yen. I always order this same thing at CoCo Ichibanya. It's not exactly like homemade food, but it's a comforting taste that keeps me coming back. As many of you may know, asking for "extra sauce" is free. It's a good deal, isn't it?

This restaurant is close to my home, so I can go there by scooter. The staff here have a very good attitude. The taste is also quite delicious. Personally, I always order the curry with crab cream croquette. However, I think the prices are a bit high. Especially the vegetables are expensive. I also find the additional toppings for the curry to be pricey. Among curry chain restaurants, I like this one the most. But I have to emphasize again, the prices could be more reasonable.

Excerpt from a gourmet note. A Coco Ichibanya restaurant that I often visit when going to work by car. The "Curry House CoCo Ichibanya Shijonawate Sotokanjosen Store" has a spacious parking lot, so you can feel at ease. It gets crowded during lunchtime, so I recommend going at off-peak hours. Now, let's eat. The interior of the restaurant is clean, and the service from the staff was average. I had the Chicken Stew Curry as the main dish, with toppings of natto and boiled egg with salt. Let's go with the normal level of spiciness. I opted for the large serving size of 400g of rice. I want to spread the word about natto curry, but many people seem to have an aversion to it... (laughs) It can be a bit challenging to eat, but the taste is actually quite good, with no strong natto smell and a mild spiciness. Give it a try! I will definitely go back again. Thank you for the meal.

I prioritize B-class gourmet that meets all the following conditions:
1) Ample parking space - can accommodate around 10 regular cars and 2 compact cars.
2) Easy access to the parking lot - located next to a traffic light, making it easy to enter and exit.
3) Cleanliness of the restaurant - both the exterior and interior are well-maintained and regularly cleaned.
4) Friendly atmosphere among staff - no yelling or tension, just a pleasant and welcoming environment.
5) Open and spacious setting - enjoy the view of the surroundings while dining.
6) Good customer service - not overly intrusive, just the right amount of attentiveness.
7) Taste is typical of a chain restaurant, but satisfactory.
