After finishing visiting the temple, I had breakfast at this place. It's located near Isshin-ji temple. It was great that they were open early in the morning. I used their morning set after my early morning temple visit. The ham toast set was only 430 yen, which is cheap, right? And you get a whole piece of bread, not just half. It filled me up nicely and I could relax. The bread was pre-buttered, then topped with ham and baked. It was a pretty good morning set. I had iced coffee with it. I'm not sure, but they seem to use alkaline ion water. The owners were nice and easy to talk to. The atmosphere inside was bright and pleasant.

On October 10, 2015, I started walking from Hankyu Nakatsu Station to JR Temma Station, heading north, and then zigzagged towards Tennoji. I had walked about 3 km in Ikeda before, so today's walk was around 15 km in total. After about 2 hours and 30 minutes, I reached Matsuya-cho and started looking for a cafe to take a break, but couldn't find one. Eventually, I dragged my heavy legs to Shitenno-ji. My wife suggested going to a small cafe in the city center that I wasn't particularly fond of, but since the atmosphere was decent, I agreed to take a break there. It had a coffee shop vibe, with coffee brewed individually using a siphon. My order was an iced coffee for 380 yen, while my wife ordered a blended coffee for the same price. After waiting for about 10 minutes, our drinks arrived. While taking a break, I noticed something different on a poster on the wall - it mentioned that premium coffee made from only Arabica beans was available for 500 yen. This made me wonder if the 380 yen coffee we were drinking was made from Robusta beans, typically used in canned or instant coffee for cost reduction and bitterness enhancement. I've heard that coffee chains sometimes use a bit of Robusta in iced coffee to reduce costs and emphasize bitterness, but labeling the regular coffee as premium Arabica was confusing. My wife commented that she couldn't smell much coffee aroma, and the iced coffee itself was quite ordinary, similar to what you'd get at a chain store. The posters seemed to be original color prints and copies, probably obtained from various sources for promotional purposes. It was a bit disappointing. It's a lesson that even a little knowledge can lead to big misunderstandings. Thank you for the meal!

Well, today I'm going to the book festival at Shitennoji Temple in Osaka again (2nd time). But before that, let's grab a bite to eat. Chibitsunuu, wanna stop by this restaurant? Chibitsunuu: "Let's do it~♪" The name of the restaurant is "Coffee Cocoro (cocoro)". The sign says "Delicious alkaline ion water used". The illustration of the siphon is nice. The interior of the shop is small, but the entrance is all glass so plenty of light comes in, creating a bright and open atmosphere. By the way, the recommended coffee here is this one. A superb cup of Arabica coffee. So, Chibitsunuu ordered the Arabica coffee for 500 yen. It came with a mini silver spoon. Chibitsunuu loves this, right? Chibitsunuu: "Silver spoon, silver spoon♪" I ordered American coffee for 380 yen. I was tempted by the sandwich but went for the butter toast for 250 yen today. Toast at cafes is thick and delicious, right? A perfect way to fill our stomachs with delicious coffee and fluffy bread. This shop allows smoking, so non-smokers may have to endure a bit, but it's a valuable shop for smokers. Now, I'm off to the book festival at Shitennoji Temple again! Chibitsunuu: "Off we go~!" ************************ Coffee Cocoro (cocoro) 2-3-2 Aiboku, Tennoji-ku, Osaka City 06-6773-2272 Business hours: 7:00-17:00 (Morning 7:00-11:00) Closed on Thursdays Nearest stations: Tennoji Station on various lines, Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station on the subway

Located between Shitennoji Temple and Isshin-ji Temple, this cafe is run by a husband and wife. It's a very ordinary cafe. When I went for breakfast, I was surprised to find that they use a siphon coffee maker! They put a lot of effort into it. The blend they serve is strong enough for black coffee, yet still has a rich flavor. The egg toast was also freshly made and delicious. It came with a banana too. By the way, you can even choose cola as your drink for breakfast, so it's a place you can take your kids to. I'm not sure if there are any boys drinking cola in the morning, but who knows. It was a satisfying meal.

I visited Shitennoji Temple for the first time and was looking for a place to rest after walking around. I noticed a tent with "coffee" written in big letters near a crossroads and decided to stop by. Unfortunately, they closed at 5:00 PM, so I could only stay for an hour. The coffee was only 350 yen in Osaka, which was great. The coffee brewed with a siphon had a rich taste, depth, and aroma, which I really enjoyed. It was nice to relax by the window and watch the flow of the street outside.
