The butcher shop in Nishishin has reopened and the atmosphere has improved. I really wanted to visit this place. Suddenly, I felt like having motsunabe (tripe hot pot), so I decided to go without a reservation. There were private rooms and a large room, and since it was a Saturday, the private rooms seemed to be fully booked. We were seated in the large room and ordered motsunabe. You can choose between soy sauce and miso broth. The motsu (offal) mainly consisted of intestines, but there were various other parts of offal as well. In addition, cabbage, leeks, burdock, and tofu were included, which are common ingredients. The meat was well prepared, allowing us to taste the unique flavor of each type of offal. Actually, my wife doesn't like to eat meat, especially if it has a strong smell, but she didn't notice any unpleasant odor in the soup here and mainly enjoyed the vegetables. The ambiance of the restaurant, the service of the staff, and the value for money were good, but there seemed to be many new staff members, so the service was a bit slow. When we asked for more broth, it was promptly brought to us, although it was charged separately. We also ordered a pickles set, which included 4 dishes of pickles. One dish had 5-6 umeboshi (pickled plums) and another had 7-8 pieces of pickled daikon radish. It was too much for us to eat! We were expecting carrots or other types of pickles, so we were surprised. Personally, I don't like too much intestines in the hot pot because it makes the soup and the overall dish too oily. It's a matter of preference, though. Overall, the experience was very good. Oh, one more thing. The smell of other people's cigarettes in the large room was quite bothersome. If you dislike the smell, you might prefer a private room.
