In Shinsaibashi, a shop that was subletting space has now become an onigiri shop located within an Apa Hotel. They are open from 7am with different menus available depending on the time, so be sure to take note! Popular fillings include mentaiko cream cheese and soy sauce-marinated egg yolk. I visited alone on a rainy weekday around 4pm. There were two groups of takeout customers. For dine-in, you can order by scanning a QR code. If paying by credit card, you can use smart payment, otherwise cash, electronic money, PayPay, etc. are paid at the register. I ordered the "Hungry Set" (with seaweed soup) for 720 yen, and the Tuna Mayo and Ikura Soy Sauce for 430 yen each. As the name suggests, I was hungry so I started with the onigiri. It was served in about 5 minutes. The iced green tea was also appreciated. The onigiri was lightly and delicately packed, without any salt sprinkled on top. The ikura I chose was a favorite of mine, with a strong salty flavor and a satisfying texture. The Tuna Mayo could use a bit more flavor, but it was simple and satisfying with the ingredients inside. After my stomach settled, I added some appetizers. Looking at the menu, there were options like dotenabe, shirasu, and ikura donburi, all of which complement the onigiri fillings. This time, I added crispy and juicy fried chicken with a lemon sour. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and despite the rare occasion of ordering through a smartphone, they spoke to me appropriately, even mentioning that the appetizer menu will expand next month and thanking me for coming in the rain. The atmosphere was great, and I will definitely stop by again. Next time, I want to try the Hokkaido ikura donburi. Thank you for the meal.
