A little while ago, a reader told me about a bakery that sells delicious melon bread, so I went to check it out. "Panya Makido" is located just a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Nagahori Station on the Osaka Metro. Despite the rainy weather on the day I visited, there was a constant stream of customers, probably due to it being lunchtime. The bakery has a unique face-to-face style, which is quite hygienic in the current situation. When you tell the staff what bread you want, they pack it in a bag for you. They have a variety of bread such as strawberry melon bread, chocolate bread, cream bread, red bean bread, pain au chocolat, cinnamon rolls, brioche nanterre, bean bread, wiener bread, teriyaki chicken tartine, baked curry bread, and more. I first purchased the melon bread, which is a seasonal item. They also had strawberry melon bread, but I decided to go for the classic version first. I also bought some sandwich bread and a half-size of the recommended fruit campagne. The bakery had a sign explaining the shelf life and the difficulty of slicing the bread due to its high moisture content. They described the bread as having a very soft texture due to the high water content. Now, onto the melon bread! The intricate pattern on the surface is quite beautiful, and the cookie dough-like exterior is delightfully crispy. This is the type of melon bread I love, with a slightly thick and crunchy crust. Next, I tried the sandwich bread and fruit campagne. The sandwich bread had a chewy texture and a subtle sweetness, perfect for everyday consumption. As for the fruit campagne, I love bread with lots of fruit in it, and this one did not disappoint. The bakery had a sign with "Panya" written on it. It was a delicious experience, and I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal.
