The area around Tenjin and Hakata Station is always crowded no matter where you go. Maybe it's because I never go on weekdays, but it can't be helped. So, I decided to come to the airport early and take it easy. I used to go to Ikko-sha when it was still in Daimyo, but I don't know if I'm getting older, but I find Fukuoka ramen to be too rich in soup no matter where I go. However, I still prefer Fukuoka noodles.

Today was the day to return to Tokyo, and since my colleague was a huge ramen lover, I asked, "What do you want to do?" They replied, "I still haven't had enough ramen in Fukuoka!" So, we went to Ippudo. This place is where you buy a meal ticket first and then line up to order. I ordered the rich pork bone ramen with flavored egg and chashu (1,280 yen). The foamy pork bone soup here is not something you see often in Tokyo, and the restaurant always has a strong and pleasant aroma. Surprisingly, the ramen was easy to eat, and I felt like I could have ordered an extra serving of noodles in advance (pre-order for extra noodles 150 yen, order during the meal 150 yen). For those who came all the way to Fukuoka but haven't had ramen yet, I highly recommend it! (If there are only about 10 people in line, don't worry and just wait as the turnover is fast!)

Ramen Isshintei Airport Ramen Street I suddenly felt a craving for tonkotsu ramen and decided to visit. The aroma is consistent and enticing. This time I had the Ajitama Chashu Ramen. At the counter, there were pickled mustard greens and white ginger. The chashu slices were thin but flavorful, and the more you chew, the more the taste comes out. The egg didn't have a strong flavor of marinated egg, but as a fan of plain boiled eggs in ramen, I appreciated it. The addition of wood ear mushrooms was also appreciated as a wood ear mushroom lover. I enjoyed flavor variations with pepper, garlic, pickled mustard greens, spicy miso, and white ginger. #Ramen #FukuokaAirportGourmet #RamenRunway #TonkotsuRamen #TonkotsuSoup #LoveTheSmellOfTonkotsu #TonkotsuIsDelicious

I waited in line for about 10 minutes and finally got in around evening. The rich and creamy tonkotsu soup with foamy bubbles was delicious, and I thought I would like to taste it again. The flavored egg ramen was tasty, so I also got an extra serving. The extra serving for 180 yen made me think about the times we live in, but it was so delicious that I didn't mind.

Before boarding the plane, I had this meal. The staff's service was excellent, and the complimentary spicy pickled vegetables were delicious. You can also purchase them as souvenirs. The chashu was thin but satisfying, and the noodles I ordered were perfectly cooked and delicious. The side menu was also extensive, and I would love to have it again when I visit Fukuoka with an empty stomach.

During a break from work. It was delicious. The smell of the broth was quite strong. The noodles were on the thinner side. With the addition of wood ear mushrooms and an extra serving of noodles, it came out to over 1000 yen. It's been 10 years since I last visited Hakata, and I was shocked by the prices of ramen. When going to ramen shops in the city without any local knowledge, especially during the early evening hours, you might end up with a ramen that tastes like thin pork broth or hot water, and it feels like you have to wait until late at night for it to taste good. However, at the airport ramen runway, you don't have to worry as the broth is simmering and fragrant from midday. It smells so much... I've lost my sense of smell for about a month due to the after-effects of COVID-19, but I can still instantly smell it. No need for extra toppings. With the noodles, broth, and ground sesame, the taste is enjoyable enough to have multiple servings.

I had a meal while waiting to board at the airport. It was crowded and there was a 20-minute wait, but it didn't feel like I waited that long. You buy a meal ticket and then line up to order. While waiting in your seat, a staff member will come to take your noodle firmness preference and give you a number. The ramen didn't come out as quickly as I expected once seated. I ordered the salt pork bone ramen with flavored egg. It was my first time trying salt pork bone ramen, and it had no pork smell at all, with a strong salty flavor that was delicious. There were pickled vegetables, chili oil, and ginger on the table (not pickled ginger). A must-try ramen spot by the runway!

There is a street in the airport filled with ramen shops, and the smell coming from them is quite strong, almost like a mix of living creatures, beasts, and pigs. However, the actual ramen itself is delicious with just the right amount of flavor, and it tasted even better with added pickled mustard greens and garlic.

I had ramen at this restaurant inside Fukuoka Airport before returning to Tokyo. It was a foam-style ramen, just like the one I had yesterday. The soup was rich but not overpowering, making it easy to eat. Next time I visit Fukuoka for work, I want to try the classic Hakata ramen. I only had to wait for about 5 minutes around 3 pm.

I came to Fukuoka but didn't have time to eat, so I searched for Hakata ramen at the last resort of the airport and came here. I'm not a big fan of the strong pork bone smell, but this place isn't too overpowering, so I recommend it for those who want to try Hakata ramen. Adding extra noodles for less than a thousand yen at the airport is a nice surprise. My way of eating Hakata ramen is to start with firm noodles and eat them quickly, then add extra noodles for a firmer texture while enjoying the flavor.

Due to the typhoon, there were few shops open, but I ended up at Ikkosha because I was intrigued by the tonkotsu smell. The rich but not overpowering soup with firm noodles was excellent! The wood ear mushrooms did a great job too! I added pickled mustard greens and ginger for a flavor change halfway through. I prefer this way! I didn't get tired of eating it. I bought pickled mustard greens as a souvenir on the way home (I think it was 550 yen).

[Eating at Koukusha, where they were open for business] The default is the rich tonkotsu ramen for 830 yen. I was torn between the light salt tonkotsu, but decided to stick with my initial choice of the simple, firm noodles. The soup was not too thick and had a light flavor. The chashu and small green onions were elegant, and the extra wood ear mushrooms added a nice touch. I'm not at an age where I need an extra serving, so this portion was just right. I added some chili pickled mustard greens and shredded ginger to change up the soup a bit. It was past 7:30 pm and the restaurant was closing early due to an approaching typhoon. The ramen runway was empty, and I asked why they were closing early. They explained it was due to facility issues and staffing. Thank you for taking care of us. *Bringing a half-price bento to the lounge and enjoying it with drinks is also a good idea.

I had lunch at ShinShin in Hakata Station, but before boarding the plane, I decided to have one more bowl of ramen! I had the last Hakata ramen of my Fukuoka trip at Isshinsya in Fukuoka Airport. Eating two bowls of Hakata ramen in a row really made me notice the difference in taste. Well, I think it's just a matter of personal preference. I thought both were really delicious. However, if I had to choose, I would lean towards the first one I had. Isshinsya's ramen was more on the creamy side, similar to Issen, I felt. When comparing such delicious ramen, it's quite difficult for me to confidently evaluate. At this level of quality, I think it's okay to choose where to eat based on your current location or travel time. Isshinsya's ramen was also very delicious. The fact that this store is located inside the airport makes it a convenient option for a last meal in Fukuoka. Thank you for the meal!

On the third day of my business trip to Fukuoka, after finishing various meetings and discussions, I had my final meal in Fukuoka before heading back. Despite it being midday, there was a long line of over 15 people at this popular restaurant. The ramen they served had a rich pork bone soup, although I didn't find it as thick as described, the depth of flavor was definitely there.

I used this restaurant during the waiting time for my first visit to the plane. When I arrived at the store, there were 3 groups waiting outside. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was able to enter the store. You purchase your meal at a ticket machine at the entrance, and then you are guided to your seat. This time, I ordered the "Ajitama Ramen" with firm noodles. I love tonkotsu soup, but I felt that the tonkotsu flavor here was weak, which was disappointing as I was expecting more. Perhaps it was just this time, but the soup was not good.

I came to Fukuoka and wanted to eat tonkotsu ramen, so I ordered the flavored egg and chashu. I also ordered gyoza as a side dish. The soup was a refreshing tonkotsu broth, with no unpleasant smell, and it was very delicious with a smooth texture. The noodles were thin and firm, and I ate them just right. The noodles were also delicious and went well with the soup. I finished the extra serving of noodles quickly. It was a very delicious ramen.

I arrived at around 2 o'clock and there was a line. It was a system where you buy a ticket first and then place your order. I waited for about 15 minutes before entering the store. It didn't take more than 10 minutes for the food to come out. It was really delicious. The good thing about Fukuoka ramen is the convenience and the rich taste of tonkotsu broth that really makes you feel like you're in Fukuoka. It was also nice that they had soup seasoning available for flavor adjustment. You could choose two toppings freely. Having mentaiko rice with pickled mustard greens is a must for me, so I was happy about that.

As it's a ramen shop, everything was very smooth. The guy who asked for the number of people and guided us inside was very pleasant both when we entered and when we left. When we asked for garlic that wasn't on the table, he brought it out right away. I realized that the speed of service is important for ramen with thin noodles. Delicious! Love it!

I visited Ichiran Ramen in Hakata during a business trip. It had been over 5 years since I last ate at Ichiran in Tokyo. The taste was quite average. Personally, I didn't think it was a must-visit place in Fukuoka, but I was in a rush and just wanted to have their tonkotsu ramen. You can find even more delicious tonkotsu ramen in other regions, though.

At Fukuoka Airport, I dashed into a ramen shop before departure and enjoyed the wonderful aroma of pork bone broth. The ramen was easy to eat as it had a mild flavor. Despite other shops not having lines, this particular shop had a queue, making it seem like the most popular spot in the airport.
