I was finally able to purchase the highly popular Marbeck's shokupan, which is known for being impossible to even reserve despite being a local favorite. Here is how you can purchase it as a regular customer: if you're lucky, you may be able to buy B-grade loaves for 270 yen each, which may have slightly burnt edges or misshapen form. I happened to pass by the store at 8:30 PM and saw a sign saying everything was sold out, but noticed a few bagged loaves on the side, which turned out to be B-grade ones. I asked if I could buy them and was pleasantly surprised when they said yes. Unfortunately, making reservations is not an option, as they haven't been accepting new ones for years. The butter-scented shokupan I bought was sweet, fluffy, and delicious, living up to its popularity.

In Osaka, there is a famous bakery called "Marveck" that is known for its elusive bread. The bakery offers two types of bread: A-grade, which is mostly reserved for regular customers with a one-year waiting list, and B-grade, which is available for purchase if you're lucky. I was able to get my hands on a B-grade loaf, despite its slightly misshapen appearance. The bread was dense, with a crispy crust and a soft, fluffy interior that was slightly sweet and fragrant. It was delicious, and surprisingly affordable. Additionally, I visited Shoen-ji Temple, known for its hydrangeas, on a day in June.

Here is "Marveck," a well-known bread specialty store in Minoh. Their bread is almost exclusively available by reservation for regular customers, making it a bit difficult to purchase and earning it the reputation of being a legendary bread. In the past, due to the high number of reservations from regular customers, new customers were unable to make reservations, causing the wait time for bread to be around 1 year. The store is located about a 7-8 minute walk east of Hankyu Minoh Station, slightly away from the station in a residential area. There is parking space for 3 cars next to the store. Inside the store, shelves are filled with stacks of bread labeled "reserved." To get your hands on this legendary bread, it is recommended to visit the store frequently. If there is stock of B-grade bread, it can be purchased by non-regular customers. B-grade bread may have slightly burnt edges or a slightly deformed shape, but the taste remains the same. The soft and fluffy bread has a subtle sweetness and is truly addictive. The price is reasonable, with a set of two loaves priced at 250 yen, or discounted to 237 yen. Since bread is a staple in the morning, having such filling bread is greatly appreciated. I have visited over 20 times and have been able to purchase it about 80% of the time. As we enter the autumn foliage season, why not stop by while visiting Minoh Waterfall (apologies if there are no B-grade items available!)?

The food is very delicious and I make a reservation to buy it every month. Unfortunately, when I visited the restaurant the other day (1/26), there was a sign saying that they are closed for a while. I am worried if the owner's health is not good.

That deliciousness, surprising cost performance. An unparalleled bakery. However, unfortunately, they have suddenly closed.

I had heard from someone living near Minoh that this bread was delicious, but to receive it the day after hearing about it is truly a blessing. A few days before trying this bread, I also received bread from a famous bakery, so I was able to compare the two. Merveck's bread was the clear winner! Whether eaten fresh or toasted, the delicious flavor really stood out. Although the bakery is a bit far away, I would love to visit in person and try more of their bread.

Marveck is a well-known bakery in Minoh, known for their highly sought-after bread. Their bread is mostly available by reservation only for regular customers, making it somewhat of a legendary item. The bakery is located in a residential area a little east of Hankyu Minoh Station, with a convenient parking lot for three cars. Inside the shop, shelves are filled with stacks of reserved bread loaves. Marveck specializes in bread, with very few sweet pastries available. To get your hands on their legendary bread, you may need to visit frequently and keep an eye out for any B-grade loaves that are available to non-regular customers. Despite being labeled as B-grade, these loaves are just slightly imperfect in appearance and do not affect the taste. The bread has a soft and chewy texture with a hint of sweetness, making it truly addictive. The price for a loaf of bread is reasonable, with a discount available for a pack of two loaves. I have visited Marveck multiple times since my first visit, and now I can easily get a loaf of bread on most visits.

Visited Minoh Falls with a friend and on the way back, we heard about a hard-to-find bread that you can only get by making a reservation in advance. It's said to be a legendary bread that only regular customers can reserve annually. The bread that doesn't meet the standard, like being too burnt or misshapen, is sold at a discount. We decided to stop by the bakery while in Minoh, hoping to get lucky and find some of this elusive bread. The store had whole loaves of bread as well as pre-cut slices in bags available. When we mentioned that we didn't have a reservation, they kindly offered us the slightly burnt ones at a discount. The staff was friendly and even cut the bread to our preferred number of slices. My friend, who attends a bread baking class, loved the bread, finding it soft and delicious. It had a slightly sweet taste and was enjoyable on its own or toasted with soup. If I ever visit Minoh again, I would definitely stop by this bakery.

On June 20, 2015, I visited Marebek after a long time. I had contacted them in advance the day before to request a loaf without slices, and when I confirmed the availability the next day, I went to pick it up in the evening. Surprisingly, it was not a B-grade loaf, but a genuine A-grade one. It's rare to get an A-grade loaf when requesting a separate one, as usually B-grade loaves are provided. I have been visiting various bakeries for about 5 years, but Marebek is the most difficult to purchase from. However, the taste is so good that I sometimes crave it. Even though it's hard to get, the satisfaction of finally getting it is worth it. The bread is sweet and has a chewy texture, though slightly sticky. It may not be my number one favorite, but it's a mysterious bread that makes you want more when it runs out. Marebek offers great quality at a very reasonable price of 648 yen per loaf. It's a fantastic value for such delicious bread.

Today, I called ahead to confirm before visiting. The owner said they would have the bread ready in the afternoon if I called in the morning, so I went to the shop at 2 pm and bought 5 slices and 2 loaves. As a thank you for bringing a souvenir from Nagoya on my last visit, I received a walnut bread. I remember how delicious their bread was from a previous visit when I had their red bean bread. The bread I received today was also delicious, with a great texture. Their regular bread is not displayed in the shop, making it a hidden gem! I want to try their red bean bread too! On May 10th, I called again and got 5 slices and 1 loaf. Instead of toasting the bread with sliced cheese on top, I cut it in half, stuffed it with cheese, and toasted it. It was amazing! I've been going there for 3-4 years, but still can't get a reservation. I always call ahead to make sure they have the bread available. The owner seems to recognize me now. Their bread is unique with a moist and chewy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. It's definitely one of the best breads I've tried, even compared to famous bakeries in Osaka, Kyoto, and Hyogo. I hope to get a reservation soon. It's my favorite spot, and the taste always brings me back. I admire their hard work, so I'll keep trying to get a reservation.

The elusive shokupan bread is crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and melts in your mouth when toasted. It used to be available at a small bakery along with delicious almond cream sandwich bread. The bakery also sold amazing Minoh red bean paste buns. However, due to high demand, the shokupan bread now requires a reservation and is often sold out. If you're lucky, you might be able to snag one if there are cancellations. On this particular day, they sold me a slightly imperfect loaf at a discounted price. The taste and texture were still the same. I plan to go back soon to try my luck again!

I heard rumors about a popular bread that was hard to buy. I went to buy it without a reservation. There were about four people lined up at the register. The shelves were mostly filled with bread, and there were also some snacks. When I told the staff that I wanted two loaves, they said they could sell one loaf if it had a burnt edge. I was grateful to be able to purchase even just one loaf without a reservation. I received a discount and paid 231 yen including tax. The bread was slightly warm when I received it. It was nice to see the bag slightly fog up from the steam. I ate two slices of the bread that day, without toasting it or adding anything. It was incredibly delicious.

I visited a bakery in Mino known for its elusive bread. I knew I might not be able to buy any, as they only accept reservations from regular customers. They seem to specialize in chewy bread, and besides bread, they also offer baked cheesecake and cookies. I bought the cheesecake, which had a strong cheese flavor for its price, and the cookies, which were very soft and delicious. They also sell canceled or failed bread, so I'll try to stop by after work from time to time.

[Revisited] Or rather, it was my first time visiting. It was in the evening, so I went there on a whim and managed to buy some shokupan (Japanese fluffy bread)♪ And since I was there, I decided to also buy brownies and chiffon cake. The shokupan was delicious, but the brownies were like... meh, so-so. They were tasty, but more like bread-like brownies haha. The chiffon cake was also unimpressive. But the shokupan was really good! Plus, when I opened the bread bag in the cafe, the aroma was sooo nice♡ This shop is definitely all about the shokupan! I finally got to try the legendary shokupan that I've been wanting to eat for so long. I'm so happy I could cry haha. It's a B-grade item, but honestly, you can't really tell. Apparently, it becomes a B-grade item if it's overcooked or the shape is off... which one is this? Maybe the shape? But even as a B-grade item, there's absolutely no problem. It's baked just the way I like it. I'm going to eat it as is right away. It's moist and has a strong sweetness. If I were hungry, I'd probably gobble up multiple slices haha. The crust is especially delicious! I wonder if this shop sells "bad bread" or something like that (laughs). The next day, I brought it to work and had it for breakfast. I didn't have time to eat in the morning, so I had breakfast at work (laughs). I lightly warmed it up, spread a little mayonnaise, added some ham, and ate it. It was pretty good. Of course, it's also delicious toasted with butter. I tried eating it in different ways, but I still prefer to enjoy it as a sweet snack. It was delicious. Thank you so much!

2012,03 Since then, I called several times but kept getting rejected... One evening, as usual, when I called, I received a curt reply, "We have it." I made a reservation and then rode my scooter there. It took about 30 minutes to arrive! When I got to the shop, they asked me how many slices I wanted. Let's eat! The bread here is so delicious, even the imperfect ones taste great. It's a battle to get even the imperfect ones, but it's worth it. I eat it as is, without toasting it... It's incredibly delicious! It's soft, moist, slightly sweet, and has a nice aroma. Even when toasted, it still smells good. This is one of my top 3 favorite breads. I will definitely come back for more! 2011,07 After visiting Café and Bar Hashimoto Tei, I stopped by here. I knew there was no elusive bread here, but I still came. This place specializes in bread, although it's not a bakery. The regular customers' orders fill up the shop, so us regular folks can only buy imperfect bread. I called in the morning and was told they were sold out... I called again right after leaving Hashimoto Tei and was told the same... Even though I was rejected twice, I still wanted to visit the shop. The shop is surrounded by the bread ordered by regular customers. So many! It's no wonder only regular customers can get them. In addition to bread, they also have sandwiches and chiffon cakes, so I bought two different types. Egg Salad Sandwich: Egg salad sandwiched between rye bread. The egg salad is mainly egg and quite light. The bread is soft and moist. Oh, the bread in the sandwich is delicious! Baked Cheesecake: Not overly cheesy, it has a nostalgic and gentle taste. It's moist but not dry. Perfect for a snack! I wonder when I will meet the elusive bread? Should I call every day? I really want to try it!

A lovely gift from a kind person in Kita-Setsu. It's a B-grade bread from "Marveck" for me, who usually just plays around, but it's for the wife. How thoughtful, thank you so much!! I'm not really knowledgeable about bread, so when I brought it home... Me: "What's this?" Wife: "It's Marveck!!" Me: "Is it famous?" Wife: "Don't you know? It's really famous!!" So, I got all excited. It was around 11 PM when I got home, but my wife insisted on eating it right away... Seriously... Let's wait until tomorrow morning, right... But I ended up eating it in the middle of the night. I lightly toasted it until it had a nice color, and then took a bite without anything on it. Oh, wheat is sweet, isn't it? It's satisfying enough on its own, no need for anything else!! When I cut it open, it was fluffy and the aroma of wheat filled the air, such an elegant wheat fragrance. If this was served in the morning, I would be able to work hard all day with such delicious bread. I didn't know there was such a delicious bread shop in Minoh. It was a gift, but I was very satisfied. Thank you. But it's considered a B-grade bread, and from reading other reviewers' comments, it seems like only regular customers can get their hands on the A-grade bread. It's a challenging bakery. And thank you for the meal!!

Yesterday, I bought some toast from Marvel at Minoh. The bread was really dense. Not fluffy or chewy, just really heavy. If you eat this regularly, you might find other bread unsatisfying. It was a bread packed with filling. It was a new sensation for me. It's interesting how there are so many different types of bread out there. Trying different foods every day opens up a whole new world. Thank you for the meal.

I went on a Minoh Pants Tour with my childhood friend. This is the first stop we visited. This shop is said to have a legendary food bread that only regular customers can buy. I was curious about it but didn't think I would be able to buy it, so I didn't go. I thought I could do without the bread, so I visited this time with that feeling. As for the crucial food bread... it was still not available. There were no B-grade items either, so I guess it was already sold out. Instead, I bought some baked sweets, so let me introduce them to you. Brownie - 420 yen: There are about five large brownies in the pack. If it's 420 yen for this, it seems reasonable. These brownies are quite fluffy. They have a moist texture and taste really good. The chocolate flavor is quite rich. Personally, I prefer brownies that are packed with lots of nuts, so I felt it was a bit lacking, but it was still delicious in its own way. Matcha Cookies - 420 yen: I also bought cookies since I was there. There are over 20 cookies in the pack. The marbling of matcha is cute. There's nothing particularly special about them, but they were just tasty cookies. Considering the number of cookies in the pack for 420 yen, I think it's a good deal. I'll try harder next time to get that food bread! Thank you for the meal! (*´∇`*)
