I visited during lunchtime on a regular day and was seated at a table by myself as it was not crowded. I ordered a collaboration item with Demon Slayer, and there was another plate under the main plate. I wasn't sure if it was a mistake or a stand for grilling. I didn't take it, but it seems like it was some kind of bonus. I'll remember to accept it next time.

Rotating sushi is fun because you get to choose from a variety of menu items. Lately, they have been offering non-sushi items as well, with interesting combinations to try. It's great that you can decide on the perfect amount of food based on your hunger level. Of course, there are hits and misses on the menu. This time, the hit was the deep-fried tuna for 120 yen. It had a nice texture with collagen and paired well as a snack with alcohol. However, the beef croquette was too sweet and lacked the expected richness of wagyu beef. Be careful when taking items from the high-speed lane as they can be slippery and fall easily. The limited-time "large-cut anago" was better than the stewed conger eel I had last time, but the warming process brought out a strong fishy smell, which was balanced out with wasabi and sweet soy sauce. The smell was a concern upon arrival, almost prompting a return. Eel seems to be a popular menu item, but it may be challenging to handle. The sushi rice was a bit firm. The meal ended with the 10% price increase to 178 yen for the "kake udon," which was consistently delicious. Unfortunately, the "Toyama black ramen" I wanted to try next was no longer available.

There was an article on a summary site about someone who got scolded by the staff for only eating the 160 yen udon at a revolving sushi restaurant every day. Despite the criticism, I was impressed by the cost-saving skills of Generation Z. So, I searched for where the delicious udon at a revolving sushi restaurant was, and found on a certain news site that it was at Kura Sushi. I went to the nearest Kura Sushi, where the plain udon is currently 165 yen on weekdays. I ordered a bottled beer, which cost 610 yen for a medium-sized bottle, almost the price of 4 bowls of udon. The beer came in a boat-shaped container with a chilled glass. I also ordered some appetizers - broccoli and shrimp for 165 yen, and onion rings for 115 yen, which were more like onion tempura. I also tried the simmered conger eel, which was not as good as expected. Finally, I ordered the plain udon for 165 yen, which was surprisingly delicious with a rich broth and ample toppings. Kura Sushi seems to take care in making their broth at each store, and their frozen noodles ensure a consistent quality. The portion may be slightly small, but the satisfaction level is high. However, with the beer and other orders, my total bill came to 1,117 yen. There are also nearby stores like Sakaya (liquor store) and Coin Laundry Ookusu, which are worth mentioning.

(2022.12.20) "Matsumoto~ Kura Sushi is having a "Crab Fair" this month too, with all-you-can-eat live and boiled snow crab. Let's definitely go together~" Hearing about the tempting "Crab Fair" starting on the 16th, I decided to visit. Upon entering, I registered at the waiting ticket machine and received a receipt with a seat number. The announcement instructed me to proceed to the seat indicated on the receipt. Without being guided by anyone, I found a seat myself, used the touch panel to order my preferred items, and then paid at the self-checkout, all part of the contactless service. The only time I saw a staff member's face was when they confirmed my order at the checkout. Despite the dryness of the live snow crab leg meat I was looking forward to, the thin leg meat was enjoyable with its melting texture and sweetness. The boiled snow crab exceeded my expectations in quality for its price. However, the medium fatty tuna sushi had a rough texture and lacked richness, and the disappointment was heightened by the vinegared rice, which seemed to not have penetrated the grains well, resulting in a lack of harmony between the sweet vinegar and rice.

When I checked in at the restaurant, I was guided to a table seat. Recently, there are many counter seats, but I chose a table this time because I feel uncomfortable sitting alone during busy times. I was looking forward to the "Ootoro" (fatty tuna), but the color didn't look good, and the portion was small. I even asked the staff if it was really Ootoro. Lately, they don't stack two plates to make the high-quality fish appear more abundant. I found the "Bintoro" (medium fatty tuna) to be much better in terms of taste and quantity compared to the Ootoro this time.

It had been a while since I last visited, and I noticed that the menu had changed. The category of seared sushi seemed to have disappeared, and there were more options for freshly made sushi. However, there were too many mistakes in my order, like sushi falling apart on the conveyor belt or not enough pieces on the plate. It was a bit chaotic but also kind of funny.

Head to Kura Sushi in front of Ognami in Minami-ku, Fukuoka City, next to Fukuoka Red Cross Hospital. Kura Sushi is known for its delicious and cost-effective tuna. The rotating sushi is popular among families. The restaurant is clean and the restroom is hygienic. They also offer great lunch deals.

Fukuoka has many delicious restaurants, so I usually avoid national chain restaurants. However, I decided to visit Kura Sushi, which is a 20-minute walk away. I had a bottle of beer for 610 yen, sake for 610 yen, fatty tuna for 220 yen for two pieces, fresh squid for 110 yen, surume squid for 110 yen, sea urchin for 220 yen, fatty tuna roll for 110 yen, Uwajima-style sea bream sushi for 220 yen, broccoli salad for 110 yen, and fried chicken for 330 yen. The total came to 3090 yen. The fatty tuna was delicious, so I had seconds. The sea urchin had a refreshing aroma of oranges and a light white flesh. Considering the good value for money, I thought it's nice to visit chain restaurants once in a while.

Aーchan, a fan of Kamen Rider (formerly STU48's Azusa Fujihara), posted on Instagram about a paper cup that is part of a collaboration product from the ongoing Kamen Rider campaign at Kura Sushi. I decided to go check it out. While there is no Kura Sushi near my house, luckily I was in Fukuoka at the time to watch an HKT48 theater performance. The closest Kura Sushi to where I was staying in Akasaka was in Hirao, so I walked for about an hour under the scorching sun after having lunch in Yoshizuka to get there. It was a little past 2 o'clock, so it was relatively empty and I was seated right away as a solo diner. I found out that you can order through a smartphone app to avoid touching the touch panel. I ordered the collaboration lactic acid drink right away since I was sweating, but for some reason it took about 20 minutes to arrive. In the meantime, I drank a lot of hot tea. I ordered a medium-fatty tuna and a large-cut yellowtail sushi. Since I had already eaten lunch, I opted for half the rice portion, and the balance between the rice and the fish was just right. When it came time to pay, the staff only counted the plates, and everything from check-in to payment is self-service.

Kura Lunch #Kura Sushi Fukuoka Nisseki-mae Store {Oonami, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City} I visited Kura Sushi Fukuoka Nisseki-mae Store on June 27, 2021 (Sunday). While passing through Nisseki Street, I found a sign saying "Kura Lunch". Upon checking, I discovered that it offered quite a good deal. Here is what the lunch set included: a choice of seafood bowl, tempura bowl, mixed fry bowl, or sushi set with chawanmushi or akadashi soup for ¥550 (tax included). You could also choose to have it with udon or ramen for ¥770 (tax included). I opted for the noodle and seasonal tempura bowl lunch set for ¥770 (tax included). The ramen came with bonito flakes on top, possibly to enhance the flavor. The lunch set arrived with a generous portion of tempura, including three large shrimp, two pieces of pike conger, and tempura with seaweed and shiso leaf. The value for money was undeniable with three large shrimp tempura and two pike conger tempura in the tempura bowl alone. The ramen, albeit slightly small, came with a boiled egg and chashu pork, and had a rich soy sauce broth. Adding the bonito flakes enhanced the seafood flavor, making it even more delicious. The thick noodles had a nice chewy texture. Overall, it was a very satisfying lunch where I could enjoy both ramen and tempura at a reasonable price. The store is located at 1-34-22 Oonami, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City. Closed on holidays.

We went to a restaurant with my children because we still had some GOTO Eat points left. It used to be hard to make a reservation last month, but now it's easier. The weekends are crowded with families with kids. My children loved the tuna, salmon roe, and shrimp. The food was served quickly, which is great in these times. Unfortunately, the collaboration dessert with ROYAL was sold out, as they only had 40 servings per day. Eating out with kids is perfect at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It was nice to be able to pay with GOTO Eat points.

I took my children to the dermatologist and they requested to eat at Kura Sushi before going home. While waiting for the medicine, I made a reservation online through EPARK, which turned out to be eligible for GOTO Eat. We had some time to spare, so we played at the park. When one of the kids needed to use the restroom, we arrived at Kura Sushi early and checked in using the panel before heading to the toilet. When we returned, our number had been called, so we had to check in again. Once seated, the kids were hungry and eagerly ordered their favorite dishes while I ordered side dishes like udon and tempura sets. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish my potato order and when I asked for a takeout container, they didn't have any available. The kids enjoyed their ikura, shrimp, and salmon dishes. The total cost for two kids and myself was around 2600 yen. We also won a prize on the Bikkura Pon game, which was a nice surprise. When we got home, I realized that the reservation didn't reflect on EPARK because it was considered canceled while I was in the restroom, so we missed out on earning GOTO Eat points.

We went to Kura Sushi because the kids wanted to eat sushi. It was during the Demon Slayer fair, so there were more adult customers than usual. We made a reservation through the app and were seated right away. We started with the Demon Slayer collaboration sushi and then ordered various types of sushi that the kids like such as shrimp, salmon, tuna, octopus, and onion rings. I also ordered some specialties like raw whitebait, seared squid, and squid tempura. For dessert, the kids had vanilla ice cream while I tried the Demon Slayer themed dessert. In total, we had 21 plates of sushi and 2 desserts, which cost around 2800 yen. We were also able to get a Demon Slayer file as a prize for spending over 2000 yen in one go, which the kids were happy about. Eating at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant with kids is always a good choice.

I felt like eating sushi and decided to try Kura Sushi since I've been to Sushiro before but not Kura Sushi. Honestly, the taste was like supermarket discounted sushi level. It was fishy and unpleasant. The rice was warm and the fish was fishy, so I kind of regretted eating there. The quality of the fish was questionable, some pieces seemed like scraps. I left before getting full. I've heard there can be hits and misses, but I don't think I'll go to Kura Sushi again.

I went to Muten Kura Sushi Fukuoka Nishijin Red Cross store in Minami-ku, Fukuoka City. Sometimes, due to work reasons, I cannot make it to the restaurant for lunch on time and become a "lunch refugee" haha. In such situations, I find it convenient to visit a large chain restaurant! As someone who drives, I also appreciate that they have a parking lot. This time, in such a situation, I tried the 500 yen lunch at Kura Sushi that I had been curious about for a while. When I entered the store, I was impressed by how well they maintained social distancing. For the lunch menu, you can choose between "chawanmushi" or "miso soup with seaweed". The first dish I tried was the seasonal seafood bowl (500 yen, excluding tax). The seasonal seafood bowl had a well-balanced mix of white and red fish, topped with sea urchin, salmon roe, and flying fish roe. The vinegared rice was finished in a way that is popular with everyone, and it was a seafood bowl that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders. Although it may not be very filling, they managed to keep the price at 500 yen by making good use of the leftover ingredients from cutting the fish. Another day, I tried the shrimp tempura and seasonal tempura rice bowl (500 yen, excluding tax). The shrimp tempura and seasonal tempura rice bowl came with 2 shrimp tempura, squid tempura, seaweed tempura, shiso leaf tempura, and this time, a seasonal tempura. The tempura, prepared from scratch at the store, was crispy and well-seasoned. The soup was mild and had a well-balanced flavor. The only downside was that the squid tempura was too tough to chew and the batter came off completely when I tried to bite into it haha. Still, considering that a seafood bowl or tempura rice bowl with chawanmushi or miso soup for 500 yen is a menu that is not easy to find in other restaurants, I thought it was a good deal. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Kura Sushi Fukuoka Nisshinmae store in late April. Due to the self-restraint period, not many restaurants were open, and convenience stores were crowded, so I had to find a place to eat while I was out for work. I chose a revolving sushi restaurant because it had mostly booth seats and the conveyor belt was not running due to the self-restraint period. I could order using a touch panel, and there were few customers on weekdays when I visited. I ordered chawanmushi, clam soup, and sushi. I also ordered the special dried fish broth ramen, which is not currently being sold. It came with a whole dried fish on top, but I didn't see the need for it. I like the dried fish broth, but I'm not a fan of chewing on whole fish, so I didn't have a good impression of it. The soup was tasty though. Finally, I had warabi mochi for dessert. Takeout was available, and the restaurant was not crowded, so I realized that revolving sushi restaurants are convenient even in such situations. In late November, I visited the Kurasushi Fukuoka Nishijinmae branch. Recently, conveyor belt sushi restaurants offer a wide variety of side dishes and the sushi itself is quite delicious. Of course, it's different from traditional sushi at a counter, but it's easy to enjoy and I love it. On this visit, the Kura Burger I wanted was sold out. I ordered 16 plates of sushi, chawanmushi, and miso ramen. I particularly like unique items like shrimp tempura sushi and seared shrimp with cheese. One of the reasons I like Kurasushi is their innovative spirit. They always have new things like introducing coffee, shari curry, burgers, and even shari half. Their business approach and fun elements like the GaraPon gachapon make me, as a parent, visit them the most. I enjoyed the meal, and finished with Hokkaido milk pudding tart and coffee. Thank you for the meal! #Kurasushi #Fukuoka #conveyorbeltsushi #sushi #ramen #coffee #sweets #Hokkaidomilkpuddingtart #GaraPon #ramenloverGaso #Gaso

In the warm spring of 2019, I found myself craving sushi in the middle of the day! It's been a while since I had a sushi training day. I thought about trying the trendy sushi curry or hamburger, but ended up ordering "Unagi Tamago Gunkan & Tobiko" instead. I really love tobiko! It was a healthy choice with just hand rolls and no carbs, but it was a bit difficult to eat with all the sauce dripping. Maybe next time I'll go for a hamburger instead. It's been a while since I had conveyor belt sushi, but it wasn't bad at all!

I love fish, so I often go to conveyor belt sushi restaurants, and I think this will be my first time at Kura Sushi. It's rare to go to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant alone during the day, as sushi and sashimi are often enjoyed with drinks. The basic price for a plate is 100 yen, although there are some irregular items with higher prices. I usually ignore the trendy sweets, noodles, and rice bowls, and focus solely on the sushi. It's a happy place where you can choose and eat your favorite sushi. I was a bit curious about the "Shari Curry" dish. The official website explains why it's called that, but I wonder if it's really delicious. It seems like an adventurous choice to eat curry at a sushi restaurant. Overall, the conveyor belt sushi was delicious and safe. I found the "Takehime Sushi" interesting, as I haven't seen it at other conveyor belt sushi restaurants. I forgot to take pictures of some dishes, but I think I had a total of 11 plates, including one where two plates combined for 200 yen. The rice portions were small, so I could eat a lot, and I heard there are even smaller rice portions available. Sometimes the conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Tenjin are crowded and noisy even outside of meal times, so in that sense, this place might be a winner. However, the facilities, tea, wasabi, and other items show a bit of age, so they could use a little improvement in that area.

The other day, I decided to go to Kura Sushi with my kids at the last minute. I was happy to see that Y has started enjoying some salmon and tuna sashimi, so we decided to go to Kura Sushi. The kids always want to play the Bikkurapon game there, so we end up eating more than usual, which can be dangerous. But I was delighted to see that they have added some new menu items that are low in carbohydrates. The Shari Off series includes small-sized shari sushi with vegetables. There is also a noodle-less ramen option with plenty of vegetables instead of noodles. It seems like the trend of noodle-less ramen, "Atama" (rice bowl without rice), and "Nikutsubo" (meat dish without meat) is catching on, haha. We tried the Shari Petit Maguro, Shari Vegetable Ebi (shrimp), and Shari Vegetable Ebi Mayo. I always end up feeling too full from rice, so the small-sized portions were a welcome change. And at a revolving sushi restaurant, I often worry about not getting enough vegetables, so having vegetables in the shari was great. The vegetables were pickled daikon radish, giving a refreshing crunch. The Ebi Mayo was wrapped in daikon radish, giving it a salad roll-like feel. Since I usually don't eat dinner, this was a light and easy option for me. I hope these menu items become a regular offering at Kura Sushi.
