Dad's Drinking Party Off-Meeting 2010-02-18 08:35:32
Theme: Dinner (Izakaya)
Last week was hectic, but due to my personal circumstances, I ended up meeting **unyunyu* at a yakitori restaurant near my house. It's our second time meeting, but it's already a dad's drinking party. Both of us have no food preferences and love izakayas, so we had a lot to talk about. We chatted nonstop as soon as we met, and even when we entered the restaurant, we kept talking and laughing so much that we completely ignored the waiter when they came to take our order (laughs). Whether it's because **unyunyu* is reliable or I have a low mental age, the ten-year age gap between us doesn't bother us much. We finally ordered some beer, raised a toast, and then finally placed our food order. We ordered a Caesar salad, grilled edamame, grilled eggplant, and various other dishes that we had never seen before. The yakitori was placed on a large ceramic container to keep it warm and enjoyable. The heart (heart part) I tried for the first time was soft but had a crunchy texture, which was quite intriguing. The lettuce wraps were juicier than expected and quite enjoyable. The mentaiko roll, wrapped in pork belly, had rare mentaiko inside that was delicious. Since it was close to home, it was the first time leaving my husband and Y-san alone at home for the night. We intended to stay for about two hours, but got carried away with our conversation and ended up staying for a good three hours. When we returned, my husband had trouble putting Y-san to sleep, and in the end, he didn't fall asleep (laughs). It had been a while since I had been to an izakaya since becoming pregnant, so I was satisfied with drinking, eating, and chatting. I need to thank my husband for accompanying me, as he seemed quite busy recently, and also thank **unyunyu* for joining me at such short notice. To see how busy **unyunyu* was, click here →
