For the October monthly project, we will be running two serializations almost simultaneously: "GoTo City Hall Cafeteria" and "500 Yen Lunch." With these two, we can also cover crossover topics. 500 Yen Lunch for October 19: "Tonkatsu Restaurant Miyako" (Osaka, Noe). I ordered the Young Tonkatsu set meal for 600 yen, discounted to 500 yen.

I came to a tonkatsu restaurant in Miyakojima for lunch. I noticed that the menu with "service item" written on it was cheap, but it turned out that the prices were excluding tax. I ordered the omelette and shrimp fry set meal (660 yen). The omelette was fluffy and the acidity of the ketchup made it appetizing. The shrimp fry had the shrimp split open and fried, with the tails neatly processed so that everything was edible. It was delicious with tartar sauce. Under the shrimp fry was ketchup-flavored spaghetti, and under the omelette was a salad. The dressing was light and tasty. The rice portion was free to upsize, but I opted for a regular portion. It was around 150g and on the lighter side. The restaurant is located at 3-23-4 Miyakojima-nakadori, Miyakojima-ku, Osaka City.

I visited a tonkatsu restaurant that I had checked out for my enjoyable lunch at home office. The place is called Miyako, located north of Kyobashi Station, across Route 1, passing through Shinkyobashi Shopping Street on the right. You can enter and exit from both the front and back entrances, and they also offer takeout. The interior has counter and table seats with acrylic boards for infection prevention. It is run by what seems to be a couple. They have alcohol disinfection, acrylic boards, and disposable hand towels for infection prevention. Tables are equipped with mustard, Worcestershire sauce, shichimi, and salt. After being seated, I checked the lunch menu. The service menu with photos on the storefront sign includes tonkatsu and croquette set for 570 yen, young tonkatsu set for 600 yen, omelet and shrimp fry set for 600 yen, Japanese-style tonkatsu set for 750 yen, katsudon set for 750 yen, curry sauce tonkatsu set for 800 yen, and more. I ordered the A set for 750 yen (excluding tax), which can also be served with extra rice. The set included hamburger, shrimp fry, and tonkatsu. The shrimp fry is served open and crispy with tartar sauce. The hamburger is soft and comes with pasta on the side. The tonkatsu is thin with a crispy coating and delicious demi-glace sauce. The slightly larger portion of rice, wakame red miso soup, and pickled radish and spicy mustard greens were also served. I was satisfied with the delicious soup and pickles. The tonkatsu set with soup and pickles seemed to be popular among regular customers. I will challenge the beef or pork cutlet next time. Thank you for the meal.

It's been almost 10 years since I last visited this restaurant, which is close to home but in a slightly out-of-the-way location. The taste of the food remains the same, with traditional Western cuisine that is delicious. I had the special fillet pork cutlet with demi-glace sauce set meal, with a little less rice. It also came with shrimp fry and fish fry.

While out on a business trip, I stumbled upon a delicious-looking restaurant. I was a bit worried if they were open due to the current situation, but they were! I ordered the A set meal with croquettes as a topping, and they even offered free extra rice. It's easy for us salarymen to gravitate towards ramen and noodles during our outings, but meals like this are the best. I didn't know of any lunch spots in this area before, but I'll definitely be coming back here often. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The restaurant is located in Kawachiya~ I might be disliked for saying difficult things, but I'll say it in a Kawachiya style. I often see the expression "Showa-like" but I think the sense of "Showa" for those in their 40s and above is different from those in their 30s and below. The former is a sense of having lived through the Showa era, while the latter is more of an imagination or creation. What exactly is the image of "Showa"? It's not a classic like Meiji or Taisho. Showa has a historical evaluation of "turbulent Showa". It can be divided into three main categories, and further subdivided. There is a deep meaning to being called "Showa-like", as Kawachiya believes. The restaurants labeled as "Showa-like" on Tabelog are somewhat unpolished, with a sense of warmth in the air. And a moderate roughness, I suppose. Now, in that sense, this restaurant is a "very Showa" type of place. First of all, the menu exudes a "Showa" scent. It's not a Heisei menu. The layout of the restaurant is interesting. It's sandwiched between two streets, so there are two entrances. In the kitchen, a serious-looking owner is silently cooking. My wife had the B lunch. White fish fry, shrimp fry, cream croquette. I ordered the pork chop (large). Miso soup, rice, pickles come with it. After ordering, it seemed like it would take some time. Good. About 20 minutes or so. They were served almost at the same time. The pork chop is quite voluminous. The demi sauce has a nostalgic taste. It reminds me of a certain taste. It has a richness but doesn't overpower. It enhances the flavor of the meat. It's subtle but rich. A great supporting player. The shrimp fry here is flat and has a crispy coating. A man in work clothes is eating alone with a bottle of beer. A couple of similar age to Kawachiya. And a couple in their 20s. When I returned to my car parked in the coin parking lot after the meal, the smell of oil had seeped in. That's the air of a restaurant that has woven through the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras.

The demi-glace sauce here is delicious♪♪ The rice, miso soup, and pickles all have a comforting taste (^-^) I was surprised to see something different from the usual similar menu items (lol) It would be perfect if there was a bit more volume though (sweat) Thank you for the meal (^-^)

Hello, I'm a middle-aged man who loves pork. I really enjoy pork because it's cheap and delicious among all meats. It's a staple ingredient when I cook at home. Of course, when dining out, I often choose dishes with pork. For example, tonkatsu. Recently, when I was cycling around Shiga Prefecture, I visited a tonkatsu restaurant called "Miyako". It's an old-fashioned, down-to-earth place with a historical feel. I ordered the Japanese-style tonkatsu set meal, which was only 750 yen, making it quite cost-effective for tonkatsu. The Japanese-style tonkatsu was delicious, with a refreshing taste of ponzu sauce that complemented the umami of the meat and balanced the heaviness of tonkatsu. It was a well-prepared meal that even an old man like me enjoyed. I think it's a great place to enjoy tasty tonkatsu at a reasonable price. If you have the chance, I recommend giving it a try!

Osaka City, Miyakojima Ward. On the way from Kyobashi through the shopping street towards Miyakojima Hondori, there are two shops facing both sides of the street. You can enter the store from either side. The long and narrow interior exudes a traditional Japanese atmosphere. Inside, there are three counter seats and three tables for four people. The A set meal (790 yen) includes a small tonkatsu, a small shrimp fry, and a mini hamburger. The salad comes with dressing already on it. There is also spaghetti. The set includes rice, miso soup, and pickles. The tonkatsu is freshly fried and incredibly tender and crispy! The shrimp fry is also crispy and delicious! However, the mini hamburger is a bit disappointing, as it is too small. The menu shows 750 yen, with a note stating that a 5% consumption tax will be added. I was unsure about the current 8% tax rate, but it turned out to be rounded up to the nearest yen at 5%. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I would like to see more transparent pricing, but I still think it's a good value. Tonkatsu starts at 600 yen, so I want to try that next time!

I went in to eat tonkatsu at Young Katsu, but I ended up ordering the magical mixed set meal which included tonkatsu with curry sauce and a hamburger set meal. It was a greedy set meal, and it was delicious.

Tonkatsu set meal for 600 yen! Cheap and satisfying portion size! The sauce was like the caramel-colored demi-glace from old Western-style restaurants, and the miso soup was delicious too.

Today, I came here. It's a tonkatsu restaurant located along a road that I often use as a shortcut. It has a quiet yet nice atmosphere. I arrived before 12 o'clock and the restaurant was about 50% full, but by the time it hit 12 o'clock, it was completely packed. The interior has a Japanese-style feel, with a TV on and a kitchen in the back right, a counter with 4 seats in front, and 4 table seats in the front. The restaurant is long and narrow, spanning two parallel roads, with entrances on both sides. It's run by a quiet couple in their 40s to 50s. The menu prices are very reasonable. I ordered the "A set meal" from the service menu. The tonkatsu, shrimp fry, mini hamburger, potato and cabbage salad, rice, and miso soup arrived. However, the shrimp fry was missing. Despite that, the thin and crispy tonkatsu and tender mini hamburger with demi-glace sauce, and the fish fry instead of shrimp fry with tartar sauce were all delicious. Everything seemed homemade, including the sauces. The rice was tasty and the red miso soup was also good. I finished the meal soon and was satisfied with the variety of flavors at this price. The service was good despite the restaurant's simple appearance. But I can't help but wonder what my 740 yen meal actually was. It's a mystery that piques my curiosity. On a side note, the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible, has a Japanese-style toilet in the middle, and no parking lot.

This restaurant has been frequented by two generations of our family. It is located on the right side as you walk towards the Miyakojima-hondori shopping street from Kyobashi. Inside the restaurant, there are four 4-seater tables and six counter seats, giving it a cozy atmosphere. As for the food, we ordered dishes such as premium pork tenderloin cutlet, pork chop, stamina stir-fry, shrimp fry, and cream croquette. The premium pork tenderloin cutlet (6 pieces for 1800 yen) is a dish we have been loyal to for a long time. It is incredibly tender, without any unpleasant meat smell, and delicious. The demi-glace sauce generously poured over it is not just a simple mix of ketchup and sauce but has a European-style finish, showing the attention to detail. The pork chop is cut quite thick and cooked perfectly, topped with the same generous demi-glace sauce. The stamina stir-fry is made with domestic beef, onions, and homemade sauce, slightly sweet but tasty. The other dishes were devoured by the kids, so I cannot provide feedback on them. Overall, all the dishes we ordered this time were delicious. It truly has the taste of a long-established restaurant. I was truly satisfied after a long time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

"Nespa @ Osaka Station Front Building No. 3 Bifukatsu Lunch | Main December 17, 2012 Tonkatsu Restaurant Miyako @ Kyobashi-Noe Sponsored Link This is also the first introduction here, as it was posted on the website before opening this blog. It is a restaurant located beyond the famous yakitori restaurant "Uzuraya" by going north along the Kyobashi Chuo Shopping Street. The restaurant has entrances on both sides facing the street, which is a unique feature. On this day, the izakaya we planned to go to was full, so we ordered the A set meal with rice and miso soup excluded, along with beer, and enjoyed it as if we were at an izakaya. However, I noticed that the menu for oyster fry was posted on the wall after ordering this, but it was too late... (laughs) The shrimp fry and tonkatsu are thin but crispy, and the balance of the demi-glace sauce is good and delicious. For only 600 yen without rice, you can enjoy a generous portion, which is much more cost-effective than the average izakaya. You can also order fried items individually, so you can enjoy a real izakaya experience by ordering a variety of dishes little by little, which is great. Next time, let's try the oyster fry for sure. Thank you for the meal!"
