I looked at the Osaka Metro brochure. It's full of Showa era vibes. It feels like something out of Chibi Maruko-chan. I wanted to eat shaved ice, but it wouldn't last until I got home in this heat. But I can't eat in Nagai Park in this scorching heat either. Soft serve ice cream can be eaten with one hand. The only choice. It's nostalgic to peek into the frozen case. My heart flutters. I eat from the lid of the monaka. The cream is solidly chilled and surprisingly hard. Thank you for the meal.

After a walk in Nagai Park, on the way back, I stopped by a shop where an elderly lady was buying grilled squid and imagawayaki (red bean paste-filled pancake). They only offer black bean paste, no cream, white bean paste, or cheese. Just the traditional bean paste is good enough. The lady carefully grilled and wrapped them in paper with care. That's all you need. In the summer, they also serve shaved ice and ice cream. I hope the lady stays healthy and I will definitely visit again!

This is a charming shop that seems to have slipped back in time to the good old days, located near JR Sakuragaoka Station and also close to Nagai Park. It offers nostalgic dishes such as "squid yakitori," "chilled candy," and shaved ice at affordable prices, making it popular with people of all ages. They also sell old-fashioned ice cream with a lid for 150 yen. While takeout is common, you can also eat inside the shop. Enjoy the traditional squid yakitori pressed on a hot iron plate for 200 yen, or the refreshing chilled candy for 100 yen. The shaved ice, like the nostalgic kind we used to have, costs only 100 yen for flavors like strawberry. It's a simple and delightful experience reminiscent of childhood.

The authenticity aside, women might be interested in it, right? Could it possibly be... about the ceramics? (I want to show you the same pattern as before, but with some growth one day.) The store is located about 200 meters west of Tsurugaoka Station on the JR Hanwa Line. It's near the corner on the shortest route to "Nagai Park North Exit" from the station, so many people might stop by. The shop is run by an elderly "lady" on her own. There are two "squid grills" and a teppan for "taiyaki" (fish-shaped cake) at the storefront, with a refrigerator for ice cream (vanilla/strawberry) also present. The main offerings at the shop are "squid grill," "taiyaki," "soft serve ice cream," and "cold syrup," all with a nostalgic Showa era flavor. As you can see in the photos, they are still being served. (Shouldn't it be tentatively recognized as an important cultural property?) Anyone who has tried the "squid grill" at this shop even once would know... but I won't tell you what it is. By carefully observing the food photos, some people might get it. (Yes! The mat underneath is a 1mm grid... hey, where are you looking!) Despite being a masterpiece itself, "squid grill - regular" costs ¥110 per piece, making it hard to understand its value. Even the "squid grill - with egg" is ¥180 per piece, making it confusing. Although I haven't tried it yet, I can guarantee that the "squid grill - premium" and "squid grill - with shrimp" must be delicious. Well, I will capture the actual items in the photos soon. (I will proceed without touching on the fact that "premium" is skipping one level.) In the summer, they also sell "cold syrup," which is refreshing after exercising or taking a walk in "Nagai Park." The "soft serve ice cream" is not in a waffle cone or the modern cone, but in a moist type similar to a monaka (wafer cake). It waits for your order with its lid on in the refrigerator, exuding a nostalgic appearance. A cozy and nostalgic shop where you can feel relaxed and warm, definitely worth a visit. Thank you for the meal.

When you get off at JR Sakaisuji Line Tsurugaoka Station and walk east, you will find a shop. In the evening, you can see local children, and on days when Cerezo plays, you can spot supporters. The shop is run by an elderly lady. It may be a bit intimidating to enter, but don't worry! I bought squid balls. A regular squid ball costs around 150 yen. It's very cheap! The dough is chewy, and the scent of the sauce stimulates your appetite. In addition to squid balls, they also sell taiko-yaki (similar to oyster fritters), and in the summer, they have shaved ice and chilled candy. By the way, it seems like they are closed on Mondays.

In February of the 5th year of Reiwa, the operating hours are from 11:00 onwards. You can order a delicious squid-filled omelette for 230 yen, and the auntie will skillfully cook it for you, so you can enjoy freshly made tasty squid. Other menu items include squid yakitori for 140 yen, premium squid yakitori for 330 yen, squid yakitori with shrimp for 430 yen, and taiko-yaki for 100 yen. All of them are reasonably priced.
