Located in front of Imajuku Station on the JR Chikuhi Line in Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City, this sushi restaurant has a long history, having been founded in 1966 as "Ichiro Sushi" and renovated in 2005. The founder's son, known locally as a "swordsman," Junji Nishihara, has taken over as the second-generation head chef, wielding a knife instead of a sword. The fresh fish served at the restaurant is sourced not only from markets and wholesalers, but also directly from familiar fishermen at Nishi-no-Ura Fishing Port in Itoshima Peninsula, mainly focusing on fish from the Genkai Sea. Vegetables are sourced from popular Itoshima vegetables, and the rice used for sushi rice is Hino Hikari rice grown in clean water from the Seishin-yama range in Nawa and Wakiyama, Haya-ku, promoting local production and consumption. The head chef's creative sushi using seasonal ingredients is highly regarded, with sets like the "Omakase Set ¥4,000" and the "Creative Sushi Mini Kaiseki ¥2,625" being offered. Additionally, they offer a weekday-only lunch menu, including a variety of service lunches such as Daily Special Lunch ¥700, Tekka Don ¥900, Nigiri and Hosomaki Set ¥750, Chirashi ¥750, and Sashimi Teishoku ¥800. In the summer, they also offer Matcha Soba (with Inari) for ¥850. The most popular item on the lunch menu is the "Tekka Don," which is highly praised for its generous portion and delicious taste.

It was seriously delicious, but the portion of rice was a bit small. I ordered a large size, but it turned out to be a regular size, haha. However, the taste was still great. Thank you for the meal. The person I went with was crying over the amount of wasabi on the sushi, haha.

Visited on Sunday. From the car, it was hard to tell if the entrance was open or closed. Parked the car, approached closer, and found out it was open. Ordered the Tekkadon at the regular price since it was not a weekday lunch. It arrived in about 15 minutes. Took a bite from the tuna. Delicious!!! It just melts in your mouth. Come to think of it, this might be my first Tekkadon in a year and a half since returning to Fukuoka. I always go for seafood bowls at any restaurant. The marinated tuna and fresh sashimi were delicious!!! The miso soup was also tasty!!! It was a fish miso soup. Just this alone makes me feel like I can eat another bowl of rice. My stomach is full. Thank you for the meal.

Everyone, what kind of seafood bowl do you like? There are various options for a bowl, but one common preference seems to be whether you prefer vinegar rice or white rice, right? As for me, I am a "either is fine" type of person. So it doesn't matter to me, either way. This time, I ordered the Tekka Don on Sunday. I thought it would come with vinegar rice since it's a sushi restaurant, but it actually came with white rice. Well, either way is fine with me. It was a perfect combination of fatty tuna, lean tuna, and minced tuna with green onions. I went easy on the wasabi since it was the white, extra spicy kind. The bowl was prepared by mixing the ingredients with sauce beforehand, which is my personal favorite type of bowl. It was delicious! I also ordered some shrimp as an accompaniment for my beer, but they were quite small. It was a bit of a waste of 1210 yen, but oh well. I heard that on weekdays, you can get a cheaper Tekka Don here, so I might stop by before going fishing next time. Thank you for the meal!

I always wanted to visit various sushi restaurants and try their food. On a free weekday, I decided to take a trip to Fukuoka City's Nishi-ku for lunch, away from my usual surroundings. I remembered that Mairebi-san had recommended a sushi restaurant in the area, so I looked it up and found it surprisingly close by. I arrived at 11:30 and saw the lunch menu displayed outside the restaurant, with options within my budget of under 1000 yen. Inside, there were five other customers, the elderly owner who seemed to be around 70 years old, his son who was managing the floor, and the owner's wife. I sat at the counter and debated between ordering a nigiri set or a tekka don (tuna bowl). When I asked the owner's wife which was more popular, she mentioned that the tekka don tends to sell out quickly. So, I decided to order the tekka don for 900 yen including tax. This way, I could also take fewer photos of the food. The bowl was served with a side dish, and it included vinegared rice topped with seven thick slices of tuna and plenty of negitoro (fatty tuna). The tuna was clearly not farm-raised or frozen, but a genuine, fresh fish. The joy of being able to eat real tuna, even if it was just the red meat, was undeniable. A small dish with soy sauce and grated wasabi was provided, and I mixed them well before drizzling it over the tuna and savoring each piece slowly. I wished I could have eaten it with stem wasabi for an even more delicious experience. The side dishes included simmered taro, simmered hijiki seaweed, and for some reason, a dish of garlic chives and egg. A slightly odd combination? The miso soup contained onions and seaweed, and the pickles were just a small portion. However, the satisfaction of being able to eat real tuna for 900 yen was definitely worth it. As I saw the man sitting next to me eating a nigiri set, I was glad I chose the tekka don and left the restaurant feeling content.

On a regular lunch hour visit, there was one customer before me and many customers after me. Since it seems impossible to take a long break until the Bon holidays, I have my first day off today for three days. Since it's a weekday, there is no one to accompany me, so I decided to go shopping for the detergent that I was asked to buy at the usual discount store. After finishing shopping, I checked reviews and comments while in the parking lot, and I came across a review by a reviewer who is good at fish dishes. I read the review and thought, "Oh, they are being dragged around by the customer (laughs)." So, I decided to try the fish dish in their place. However, I am a complete beginner when it comes to fish dishes, so please don't expect too much from me. I discovered this sushi restaurant in Imaijuku, which I didn't know about before, thanks to other reviewers who had posted about it recently. It is located near the Chinese restaurant and Imaijuku Station. I parked my car in the parking lot near Fukugin Bank. When you exit Imaijuku Station, you can see it on the left side - Maruroku. The curtain is not hanging outside, and there is no sign saying "open," but there is a signboard for today's lunch menu, so I assumed they were open. I timidly opened the sliding door and saw two men inside the counter area, who seemed busy preparing the food, but one of them welcomed me and told me to sit wherever I like. The space between the seats at the counter was very wide. I sat on the left side, leaving two seats next to the previous customer. I ordered the regular Tekka Donburi. While waiting, more and more customers arrived. I noticed two types of customers - men in business suits and a group of women who seemed to be older than me. The men all ordered the large Tekka Donburi, but most of the women in the group ordered something other than Tekka Donburi. While waiting, two more customers arrived and were served before me. Finally, my Tekka Donburi arrived. It was covered with tuna sashimi, and the rice was not visible. It looked appetizing with scattered green onions on top. There was a small dish of soy sauce and wasabi, so I mixed them and poured it over the bowl. Although I am not familiar with different cuts of fish, the large slices of tuna on the Tekka Donburi at this price point were impressive. However, the side dishes were a bit lacking in flavor, with sweet teriyaki-flavored pork and bean sprout namul. The taste remained the same throughout, so it became a bit monotonous towards the end. As a man who prefers Katsudon over fish dishes, I found the Tekka Donburi a bit lacking in variety. Please understand that my evaluation may be incomplete. I may consider revisiting in the future, as it is surprisingly close by. For now, that's all. Thank you for the meal. Note: They will be closed during the Bon holidays and it seems like they will also be taking a summer break, so please be aware of that. I have posted a picture of their calendar.

This is a sushi restaurant located right by Imajuku Station. While the sushi is delicious as expected, their lunch special, the Tekkadon, is always a hit and sells out quickly. I visited again to enjoy the Tekkadon. The marinated tuna has an exquisite flavor that makes you want to keep eating. The tuna sashimi is also delicious, and the addition of minced tuna with green onions on top provides a different texture and flavor. The marinated tuna is a bit rich, so I always end up getting an extra serving of rice and overeating. There are many places in Tokyo that serve delicious tuna, but the Tekkadon here can definitely compete with the best in Tokyo in terms of taste.

I came to have lunch in Nishi Ward today, and later I will go to eat ramen, but my top choice is Ichiroku-san! I ordered the Tekkadon for 760 yen, and my companion ordered the Nigiri and Hosomaki set. The restaurant was quite busy, almost full by 11:30, but the food was served in about 5 minutes! This place also serves creative sushi. The sushi tasted average, with a good amount of wasabi. The Tekkadon came with two side dishes, miso soup, and pickles. The sweet rolled omelette side dish was to my liking, while the other side dish with garlic sprouts and pork didn't quite match the Tekkadon in my opinion. The miso soup was on the sweeter side. The Tekkadon was excellent - filled with generous portions of tuna sashimi, including akami, chutoro, toro, and tataki, all very tasty. The rice was plain white rice, which I prefer over sushi rice in seafood bowls. If I didn't have plans later, I would have ordered a larger portion (cries). Thank you for the meal! You can eat sushi at Takami for 700 yen (laughs).

Work in Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City. Finished work in 10 minutes and decided to have lunch at a nearby restaurant. Headed to "Ichiroku" near Imajuku Station. This sushi restaurant is popular for its Tekka-don. There is a parking lot across the road from the restaurant. Parking spaces 1-5 are for contract parking. Parked the car and headed to the restaurant, where there was a sign by the entrance saying "Tekka-don sold out" (^^;). Inside, there were 6 counter seats and 2 tables for 4 people each. Visited at 12:50 on a weekday, so it was empty, maybe because the Tekka-don was sold out. As I was dining alone, I sat at the counter seat separated by an acrylic board. I ordered the Nigiri and Hosomaki Set 1.5 times (1,100 yen including tax) as they seem to be taking COVID-19 precautions. Prepared tea from the pot placed at each counter. Soon, I was served with 10 pieces of nigiri and 3 types of hosomaki - cucumber, Tekka, and yam. The miso soup had onions and potatoes. While dining, two groups of customers arrived. They sat at the table, but there was no tea pot provided. The chef, for some reason, took the pot in front of me and silently placed it on the table for the group. As a result, I couldn't drink tea... In the end, I couldn't resist and asked the chef if I could use the pot at the neighboring counter seat. It left more of an impression than the taste of the food... Thank you for the meal.

We visited a sushi restaurant with company colleagues. They offer a generous seafood bowl for lunch. On this day, we visited for dinner with the company members. The sushi and fish were plentiful, and the sake was delicious. We didn't see the prices directly, but considering the same amount in the Kanto region, it is said to be reasonably priced. It's a place that is not visited often, but I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

This is a sushi restaurant, but during the day, they also serve a famous dish called Tekka donburi. It is a limited quantity dish and will be sold out once the ingredients run out, so it is recommended to contact them in advance. The tuna is so tender and delicious without any sinew. It is a taste that you can keep eating more and more of.
