The name "Typhoon Hotel" made me think that it would mainly serve Taiwanese cuisine, but they also have Thai dishes. The interior is designed like a cheap Thai street stall with plastic chairs lined up. They might have played on words with "Thai-style & Taiwanese-style = Typhoon". The "Choki Choki Chicken Pie" is a Taiwanese fried chicken made by spreading chicken breast. It costs 550 yen and is surprisingly huge, surpassing even kitchen scissors. It is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with just the right level of spiciness that goes well with beer. A representative Thai dish is the "Moo Ping", which is skewered pork marinated in a sweet sauce and grilled. I only associated Thai street stalls with chicken, but this was also delicious. Two large skewers cost 400 yen. This place is actually a sister restaurant of the budget izakaya & dining "Sonoda" from Osaka that came to Fukuoka. They developed this new concept in this area, a 6-minute walk from Nishitetsu Yakuin Station. Therefore, they have similar menu items like "Loo Lo Han" and "Vice", and the bottled beer is also priced at 500 yen for a large bottle, which is a great deal. Despite the mix of Thai-style & Taiwanese-style, as well as Okinawan such as Sūchikā and Indian dishes like lamb curry, it may seem like a mishmash of Asian cuisines, but everything is affordable and delicious. It's not purely Chinese or purely ethnic, but it works well in its own way. Definitely worth a visit for everyday dining.

Discovered a wonderful restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious - very satisfying taste! Ordered the Thai curry noodles - rich and extremely tasty! Definitely want to come back again!! Also tried the Tom Yum soup, which was also super delicious! Highly recommended!

The dishes were all delicious again today. The Tom Yum Kung-style vinegar, shrimp bread (resembling a hot dog bun), and stuffed bell peppers were all very tasty. The stuffed bell peppers had minced lamb filling and I really enjoyed the texture and flavor. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely visit again.

I finally visited today as I had been wanting to go for a while. I arrived at 5:00 PM when they opened and there were already two groups of customers. I ordered the raw beef and minced pork rice along with the celery nam pla pickle. The flavors were authentic and delicious, with a strong taste of cilantro and spices. I thought there would be more seating, but there were only about 8 booth seats. They also offer standing room with a discount. I personally love the Asian atmosphere and I can't wait to go back when I'm hungry again!

I visited Typhoon Taihan Hotel, a Taiwanese restaurant with Southeast Asian elements, located in Yakuin Odori. I stopped by for a light dinner before work. I ordered recommended items from the menu a la carte. The appetizer platter for 660 yen included pickled celery, spicy zha cai potato salad, and leafy vegetables which were not really necessary. The coriander potato fries were just fried potatoes with spicy salt and coriander on top, nothing special. The Lu Rou Fan was tasty with a good amount of meat flavor. The braised pork spare ribs were a bit too soft, with a similar taste to the Lu Rou Fan. Despite being priced under 1000 yen, the portions were generous, making it a good value for money. If you enjoy spicy Chinese cuisine, this place might be worth a try, but I personally find it unlikely to revisit.

I don't usually come around here on weekends, so it was my first time encountering a shop that was open during the day. I saw a sign on the storefront that said they are open on holidays in the afternoon. I couldn't resist and went inside. Since I wasn't quite hungry enough for lunch yet, I ordered a beer and some light snacks. I chose a Thai beer for 550 yen. For snacks, I got a street vendor omelette for 440 yen and coriander-free fried potatoes for 495 yen (I'm not a fan of coriander). The total came to 1,485 yen, which is quite cheap. The interior of the shop had a very exotic atmosphere, which I really liked. I used to go on diving trips to Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, etc., so it brought back nostalgic feelings. While I was looking at the counter-like area in front of me, I noticed a sign that said "Standing drink space (20% off at checkout)." There were only two other customers, so I boldly took a table, but I wonder if I could have gotten 20% off if I had stood and drank there... They didn't mention it to me when I entered the shop. After finishing my meal (which was delicious by the way, the street vendor omelette even had dried shrimp in it and was well-made), I went to pay. The staff at the shop were very polite and even escorted me to the exit. As I was leaving, they mentioned, "We've recently started offering standing drinks too, with a 20% discount, so please keep that in mind!" I thought, "Why didn't you tell me sooner?" If you're planning to go for drinks, consider the standing drink option for a 20% discount.

This time we went to Typhoon Hotel located at 2-2-24 Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, on the 1st floor of Chisan Mansion No.3 Hakata. Isn't the exterior of the restaurant intriguing? We had the opportunity to eat nearby, so we decided to have a second round here. The entrance is made of glass, giving it a nice casual feel that matches the concept well. Once inside, the stainless steel tables and colorful plastic chairs create an exotic atmosphere. We started with a toast with beer! Cheers! The must-try dish here is the "Choki Choki Chicken Pie" for 550 yen, which is crispy and fragrant with spices, made with chicken breast meat. The "Fried Rice" for 600 yen is fluffy and perfectly seasoned. The "Stir-Fried Kale" for 650 yen has a great texture and a hint of garlic. As we looked around the restaurant, we noticed a red car or train decoration that added a fun touch to the ambiance. They also sell T-shirts and bags inside. Thank you for the delicious meal.

It was a night of indulgence with various dishes and a full belly. The curry was delicious! I also enjoyed the new type of noodles I tried for the first time. I couldn't help but overeat. Thank you for the feast! Oh, I heard that Saga Prefecture has also declared a state of emergency. I'll make sure to make the most of what I can get!

It seems like a restaurant in Osaka with a Thai or Taiwanese theme, but it could be located in Bangkok. The interior is nice, and they serve drinks like Jasmine Sour, Mango Beer, and Taiwanese Beer. For snacks, they offer potato salad and a trio of appetizers for around 3000 yen. I still want to try more dishes, so I will definitely come back.

Cheap! Delicious! Fast! Finally visited the popular "Typhoon Hotel" in Yakuin with my child. It opened last fall and is known for being affordable and tasty. The tables and chairs are a bit cheap, but there is a unique table in the middle of the restaurant made from a car, giving it a foreign travel vibe. We toasted with a draft beer and tried their popular dish, the "Choki Choki Chicken Pie" for 550 yen + tax, which comes with two large chicken breasts that you can cut with scissors and season with spices. We also had the Pork Tongue Rice with Green Onion and Sesame Oil for 400 yen + tax, and some Siu Mai for 300 yen + tax. For my child, we ordered the Taiwan Ramen for 650 yen + tax to fill their stomach. We also had some highballs and other drinks, and in the end, the bill came to just over 3000 yen for the three of us. It's really affordable. - Restaurant Information: Typhoon Hotel 2-2-24 Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka Opening Hours: 17:00-02:00, Sundays until 17:00

We visited this place for the second round with a colleague who eats well. You really ate a lot at lunch, didn't you? As expected... haha. The restaurant seemed busy from the outside, and my colleague mentioned that it always seems to have a lot of customers. Even though we arrived a bit late, there were still quite a few people... maybe it was just a coincidence, but it seemed like there were more women. Upon entering the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the distinctive aroma of spices! It's the smell of Taiwan! It brings back memories of my trip to Taiwan... maybe it's star anise? The authentic aroma adds to the excitement! By the way, there were some unique car tables inside... haha. We looked at the menu and ordered some items that caught our eye! - Spicy Cashew Nuts (350 yen) - Chive Bun (550 yen) - Chicken Cutlet (550 yen) - Minced Pork Rice (350 yen) - Taiwanese Beer The Spicy Cashew Nuts were the perfect snack to go with beer... I want to take these home and enjoy them as a snack... haha. The Chive Bun had a strong flavor of meat and chives... the Minced Pork Rice also had a good amount of spices and was the rice local? The refreshing beer also helped to enhance the flavors... And my favorite was the Chicken Cutlet! When you think of Taiwan, you think of night markets... and the famous snack there is this! Thinly coated chicken with spices like star anise fried to a crisp... so delicious... To be able to enjoy this taste again in Japan is amazing. The flavor and seasoning were quite close to the authentic Taiwanese taste, so it might be a hit or miss for some people... but for Taiwan enthusiasts, it's the best! I should take my parents who traveled to Taiwan with me here! Thank you for the meal!

Fukuoka's gourmet TV show introduced this "Taiwanese Ramen" and it caught my interest, so I did some research. This is my first time trying Taiwanese Ramen outside of Aichi and Gifu. It looks like it has minced meat (Taiwanese minced meat?) with leeks on top, so it seems like a classic Taiwanese Ramen. The difference is that it has thin straight noodles and a soup with a strong Sichuan pepper flavor. The ethnic aroma is nice. The presence of Sichuan pepper gives it originality. My tongue felt numb by the end of the meal. I also ordered the No. 3 leek dumplings as a beer snack. The skin was chewy and the filling had plenty of leeks, making it delicious. The price was a bit high for the quantity (1-2 bites). I didn't try the Lu Rou Fan or Choki Choki Pie (recommended No. 1), but they looked tasty, so I might try them next time if I'm nearby.

I went to Typhoon Taihanten in Fukuoka City's Chuo Ward on July 1, 2020. I wandered around the Yakuin area and finally decided on this restaurant. I was unsure of what to order as the menu had many unfamiliar items. I noticed a dish called "Lurohan" on the right side of the menu, which seemed to be rice topped with a block of meat for only 350 yen. It seemed too cheap. After looking around, I decided to order the Taiwan Ramen for 650 yen (excluding tax). They also had a new menu item called soupless tantanmen. The restaurant had an ethnic aroma, and just looking at the chopsticks made me feel like I was in Taiwan. I asked a question that was on my mind. "Will the lunch menu disappear once the pandemic is over?" The answer was, "No, we will continue to offer lunch." The Taiwan Ramen arrived at 710 yen (including tax). It had a simple look with leeks, green onions, and minced meat. I took a sip of the soup first. It had a delicious ethnic aroma, a good level of spiciness, and a flavorful broth. Taiwan Ramen is quite tasty. The chewy noodles were also delicious. Next, I think I'll try the soupless tantanmen. The restaurant is located at 2-2-24 Yakuin, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City. They are open every day with no holidays.

I went to try the Lu Rou Fan and Mutton Curry! The pork in the Lu Rou Fan was cooked quite well, but it was a bit tough and lacked flavor... I wonder why? Of the three side dishes, the chicken was tastier! The Mutton Curry had no gamey taste and the spices were mild. The portion size was cute and seemed easy to eat with other dishes!

I recently visited a popular restaurant in Fukuoka called "Typhoon Restaurant" in Yakuin. The interior of the restaurant has a Taiwanese or Thai style, I'm not quite sure. The staff's customer service style is also a bit confusing. When I looked at the menu, I couldn't quite figure out what kind of dishes they offer. But I think that's part of the fun of this place. The staff also plays loud music and dances. I think it's a unique restaurant that Fukuoka hasn't seen before. If you go with the mindset of enjoying the experience rather than just focusing on the food, I think you'll have a great time.

On January 12, 2020, at 1:00 PM, the restaurant was about 60% full. When I sat down, it was the last order for food. I ordered the spicy pickled mustard greens for ¥300 and a jasmine tea sour for ¥450. The spicy pickled mustard greens were served as is, with chili oil and spice mixed in. I only had appetizers and couldn't eat a full meal, but the interior using corrugated iron had a nice Taiwan street food feel. Most importantly, the staff were wearing cute NONCHELEEE long-sleeve shirts for ¥4500, which I couldn't resist buying.

Located in the Yakuin Rokkaku intersection area in Fukuoka City's Chuo Ward, a sister restaurant of the popular Asian cuisine restaurant "Typhoon Restaurant" from Osaka has landed in Fukuoka. The impactful name of the restaurant, "Typhoon Daifan-ten," reflects the concept of serving Asian and tropical cuisine from Taiwan, Thailand, Okinawa, and more. The exterior features a vinyl sheet with the words "Typhoon Daifan-ten," giving off a vibe of a dining spot in a Taiwanese street corner. Inside, there is a DJ booth counter table in the center, creating a unique and playful atmosphere. The restaurant's character was created by the Fukuoka-based illustrator NONCHELEEE. The menu includes appetizers, steamed dishes, fried dishes, stir-fried dishes, noodles, and rice dishes, all priced between 250-800 yen, offering a reasonable dining experience. The cuisine mainly consists of Taiwanese dishes, making it a target for young people. I tried the recommended No.1 to No.3 dishes along with the "Pork Tongue Slice." The pork tongue slice was decent, served with lime, green onion salt, and sesame oil. The No.2 popular dish, "Sutichaa's Vegetable Rolls," was a standard Okinawan dish with pork salted and steamed, rolled with plenty of vegetables and dipped in a tangy and spicy Tom Yum sauce, which was delicious and healthy. The No.1 popular dish, "Chi Pai," a Taiwanese-style fried chicken made from chicken breast, was easy to eat with scissors and tongs, but the quality was average due to over-frying. The No.3 popular dish, "Nira Manju," had a juicy filling that matched well with the chives, making it surprisingly tasty. The meal ended with the Taiwanese specialty "Luroufan," which paired well with Thai rice. Overall, the experience was good, but there is room for improvement in quality. It's worth a visit, but expectations should be kept in check. Enjoy Gourmet Life☆

I came here to satisfy my hunger a little bit. I was curious about this new restaurant, so I wanted to check it out. The restaurant was almost full on this day, with a lively atmosphere of young people enjoying their meals. I felt a bit out of place, and couldn't relax at all (laughs). I was constantly wondering when the guy next to me would start smoking (the cigarettes were already prepared on the table). It's a casual Asian cuisine restaurant, so it can't be helped, right? - Salted pork belly wraps for 680 yen: The salted pork belly, steamed with vegetables, was light and easy to eat. - Chive dumplings for 550 yen: These were also delicious. The portion size was reasonable for the price, so it's convenient for when you're in a lively group. By the time I left, there were people of my age group as well, so I felt a bit relieved. It seems like a convenient place to take my daughters and let them "eat whatever they like!"

I found a restaurant in a gourmet magazine in Fukuoka that caught my attention. It seems that a popular restaurant from Osaka has opened in Fukuoka. It is located near Yakuin Rokkaku. The exterior is quite striking, with a big abandoned bus placed in the middle of the restaurant functioning as a counter seat. Here are the items on the menu: - Choki Choki Chicken Pie 550 yen - Pakuchi Za Sai Negi Yakko 500 yen - Suchi Car's Vegetable Rolls 680 yen - Assorted Plate (3 kinds) 800 yen - Mixed Noodles (Taiwanese dry noodles) 600 yen - Taiwan Beer 500 yen - Highball 380 yen - Byes (shiso plum vinegar highball) 350 yen each I was really looking forward to trying the "Choki Choki Chicken Pie," which is Taiwanese fried chicken. It's a thin, large chicken cutlet that you can easily cut into pieces yourself. The tempting aroma of spices makes you want to just take a big bite. I was also curious about the "Mixed Noodles." After living in Fukuoka for many years, I sometimes crave noodles other than thin ones. These are hand-made thick noodles with eggs! When you mix them well with green onion oil and sauce, it feels like a taste of a foreign country. The "Byes" with shiso plum vinegar highball caught my attention as well. It looks like shaved ice because it's frozen crunchy. It seems very easy to drink and refreshing. However, there is a limit to the number of orders, so it might be challenging to try many dishes if you are in a small group. Every dish looks delicious and reasonably priced. The service is also full of hospitality, but the generous portions might make you leave the restaurant with a full stomach. The concept of the restaurant is "cuisine from countries along the path of a typhoon," offering various tropical dishes from Thailand, Taiwan, Okinawa, and more. It's always nice to be in a place that lifts your spirits just by being there.♡

My husband and I, who both love Chinese and ethnic cuisine, visited this restaurant. We arrived about 30 minutes after it opened and had to wait in line for about 30-40 minutes as it was already crowded. The interior of the restaurant was unique and stylish, with counter seats made from old cars, simple table seats like those in overseas street shops, and character goods for sale. There were many college-aged women, and the atmosphere was lively. The background music was club music! We were seated at the counter of a car, but the high table made it difficult to eat, so we asked to change seats when one became available. Despite being busy, they reluctantly accommodated our request. The food was delicious, with a selection of fusion dishes that catered to Japanese tastes rather than authentic foreign flavors. There were many dishes that would appeal to fans of cilantro.

Last month in October, a restaurant serving Asian cuisine along the path of a typhoon opened. It's the second branch of 'Typhoon Restaurant' in Osaka. It's been really popular. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. They say you can only have up to 3 alcoholic drinks per person. Apparently, you get really drunk quickly. I'll have to try having 3 drinks next time. #TyphoonRestaurant #AsianCuisine #Fukuoka #FukuokaGourmet #Gourmet #TaiwaneseRamen #Noodlestagram #Foodstagram #Noodles #TaiwaneseCuisine #ThaiCuisine #Byes #ByesSour #FukuokaRamen #Ramen
