Located in the Yakuin Rokkaku intersection area in Fukuoka City's Chuo Ward, a sister restaurant of the popular Asian cuisine restaurant "Typhoon Restaurant" from Osaka has landed in Fukuoka. The impactful name of the restaurant, "Typhoon Daifan-ten," reflects the concept of serving Asian and tropical cuisine from Taiwan, Thailand, Okinawa, and more. The exterior features a vinyl sheet with the words "Typhoon Daifan-ten," giving off a vibe of a dining spot in a Taiwanese street corner. Inside, there is a DJ booth counter table in the center, creating a unique and playful atmosphere. The restaurant's character was created by the Fukuoka-based illustrator NONCHELEEE. The menu includes appetizers, steamed dishes, fried dishes, stir-fried dishes, noodles, and rice dishes, all priced between 250-800 yen, offering a reasonable dining experience. The cuisine mainly consists of Taiwanese dishes, making it a target for young people. I tried the recommended No.1 to No.3 dishes along with the "Pork Tongue Slice." The pork tongue slice was decent, served with lime, green onion salt, and sesame oil. The No.2 popular dish, "Sutichaa's Vegetable Rolls," was a standard Okinawan dish with pork salted and steamed, rolled with plenty of vegetables and dipped in a tangy and spicy Tom Yum sauce, which was delicious and healthy. The No.1 popular dish, "Chi Pai," a Taiwanese-style fried chicken made from chicken breast, was easy to eat with scissors and tongs, but the quality was average due to over-frying. The No.3 popular dish, "Nira Manju," had a juicy filling that matched well with the chives, making it surprisingly tasty. The meal ended with the Taiwanese specialty "Luroufan," which paired well with Thai rice. Overall, the experience was good, but there is room for improvement in quality. It's worth a visit, but expectations should be kept in check. Enjoy Gourmet Life☆
