It was my first visit in several months! The sashimi was still fresh and both sashimi and grilled dishes were delicious. Especially the "live Kawahagi sashimi" with its creamy liver, dipped in vinegar soy sauce with grated radish, is incredibly delicious. The balance of taste and price is excellent, surpassing even fugu and flounder in terms of cost performance. The "live squid sashimi" is also delicious, and it's great that the tentacles are cut for easy eating. The sensation of the suckers sticking is addictive. Of course, the tempura and salt-grilled dishes are also excellent. The "sesame mackerel" is fresh, the sauce is tasty, and highly recommended, although the portion size is a bit disappointing. This restaurant truly offers fresh, affordable, and delicious food, and I highly recommend it. However, it is a popular place, so reservations are a must. It is best to order the three mentioned dishes when making a reservation. For example, depending on the group size or availability, arriving early at opening time may still result in items being sold out. Therefore, visiting during the second round of service may lead to the three mentioned dishes being sold out. One thing to note is that when stating a party of two during reservation, there is a high chance of being seated at the counter. While this is fine, it can quickly lead to a congestion of dishes on the counter. Despite efforts to vary the height of the plates, with a mix of sashimi plates, individual dishes, and drinks, it can get crowded. Lastly, when making a phone reservation, it is recommended to do so before opening time, as calling after opening may result in slightly impatient responses due to the staff's busy schedule.
I visit this restaurant regularly a few times a year. I always aim to try the "live Kawahagi sashimi," "live squid sashimi," and "sesame mackerel," but due to fishing conditions and customer demand, it's not always possible to enjoy all three. The side dishes, hot pot, skewers, and chicken wings are also delicious. However, for some reason, the fugu sashimi and eel are disappointing.
