After work, I felt like having a drink, but there aren't many cheap standing bars or izakayas where I can easily go alone along my commuting route. After searching around, I found a place where most drinks and dishes are available for 298 yen excluding tax, so I decided to visit it, even though I didn't have high expectations. It's an izakaya focused on chicken dishes located near Kawachihanwa Station, and there is also a branch in Hirakata City. I sat at the counter. There were standard menu items and recommended menu items, and the main attraction of the standard menu seems to be the "Torikara Mountain." It's priced at 298 yen, so it probably won't look as good as in the photos. But I wanted to try it, so I ordered the Torikara Mountain and a draft beer. After ordering, I looked at the recommended menu, and there was "Taro Taro" (fried taro). I also love this dish, so I added it to my order. First, the beer was brought to me. I took a sip. It was delicious. It helped me unwind. After a while, the chicken karaage was served. It wasn't a mountain, but it was piled high on the plate, a huge portion. I took a bite. It was freshly fried and hot, and when I chewed, the juicy meat juice burst out. It was delicious, but I started to worry if I could finish it. So, I asked for the free oolong tea, one of the restaurant's attractions, and alternated between the oolong tea and the karaage. I also tried adding shichimi pepper or lemon to the karaage to enjoy different flavors. Next, the fried taro was served. Four taro pieces were accompanied by shishito peppers. You eat it with matcha salt, but first, I tried it without anything added. The inside of the taro was cooked in a light dashi broth, and it was delicious even as it is. Then I tried it with matcha salt. The umami of the taro combined with the crispy aroma of the karaage, making it delicious. It also paired well with the beer. I was worried about the amount, but both the chicken karaage and the fried taro were so delicious that I could enjoy them until the end without getting tired. Many groups of women also visit this restaurant, and I think it's a place where you can easily enjoy food, drinks, and conversation. I would like to visit again frequently.
