Located on the 8th floor of a building a short walk from the H58 exit of the underground shopping area at Osaka and Umeda stations, this kushikatsu restaurant requires reservations due to its popularity. We visited on a holiday evening around 8 PM after making a reservation online a week prior. We sat at the counter and ordered the omakase course (24 skewers), along with a glass of Japanese sake (Jyoshu Ninpei Juhachi) and two glasses of red wine, totaling around ¥7000 per person. The restaurant serves the skewers one by one, recommending new ones until you decide to stop. The skewers were made with seasonal ingredients, highlighting the flavors of each ingredient perfectly. Standout skewers included tilefish, asparagus, octopus simmered to perfection, soft-boiled egg, salmon, and squid with sea urchin. The atmosphere was casual yet refined, allowing us to fully enjoy the delicious kushikatsu and the charm of Osaka's cuisine. It was a delightful dining experience.

There are many types of skewers to choose from, so it can be a bit overwhelming, but they are light so you can eat quite a few! The shrimp and soft-boiled egg were especially delicious. You can also change up the flavors with sauce, ponzu, salt, and lemon, so you won't get bored and can enjoy until the end! Highly recommended!

I arrived around 19:30 and was quickly seated as there were empty seats at the counter. When I entered wanting to eat kushikatsu, the only options were set courses of 10 skewers, 12 skewers, and one more that I forgot. I chose the 10 skewer course, and they brought out the skewers in order. They started by taking our drink orders, then served drinks, sauce, and vegetable sticks (I asked for a second plate when offered by the staff). The skewers included pork and celery, daikon radish, quail egg, beef, scallop, salmon, konjac with miso, and taro (which was sweet like sweet potato). I forgot the last two skewers. After finishing the 10 skewers, they would bring out a surprise selection. I wanted to try the egg skewer, but unfortunately did not win the prize of a heart inside leading to a free drink. I didn't realize it was a bit pricey, but with three drinks, the total for two people came to 7200 yen. Despite the cost, the kushikatsu was delicious, and the service from the staff was pleasant. The restaurant seemed popular among pairs of men in suits and young women, so I felt that it was a good choice to dine there.

A kushikatsu restaurant in Higashi Umeda. The restaurant is located in a building close to the station. I visited for dinner on a weekday. The menu consists of omakase or sets starting from 10 skewers. I had the 12-piece set on this day. The skewers are served one by one, and the staff recommend seasoning options like salt, ponzu, or sauce. The kushikatsu includes a good balance of seafood, meat, and vegetables, all of which are delicious. The atmosphere is calm and suitable for small groups.

At the 8th floor of the Ohatsu Tenjin Street Building, there is a long-established kushikatsu restaurant called "Ennichi-san" that I had never noticed before. They fry one skewer at a time to match your eating pace, and various skewers keep coming until you say stop. When a heart shape appears in the half-cooked egg, it's a win! (*>∀<)ノ

Today, a friend visited Osaka and requested to eat kushikatsu. It seems like the same request as last year.. haha. Since the same restaurant would be boring, we decided to visit this place instead. Although you can order individual skewers, this time we asked for the omakase course. It seemed like many other customers also opted for the omakase. They will keep serving until you tell them to stop. Engrossed in conversation with my friend, I don't remember the details of each skewer, so this review might be a bit rough.. We started with a toast with draft beer ( ^∀^). The draft beer came in a large stainless steel mug, priced at 500 yen, which is standard. The first skewer was beef fillet, tender and juicy. We had a total of 16 skewers that day, but the standout for me was the hijiki and natto kushikatsu. The hijiki was wrapped in onion and was a unique kushikatsu. It was delicious when eaten with salt. The natto was wrapped in seaweed, which was crispy on the outside while retaining the flavor of the natto inside. Other highlights included the prawn and pork-wrapped asparagus. The prawn seemed to be deep-fried while still alive. I ate it from head to tail. The asparagus, topped with mayonnaise, was thick and delicious. Feeling full, we asked them to stop serving. The staff was polite and the experience was great. I found a good kushikatsu restaurant! Thank you for the meal.

While looking out at Umeda, I enjoyed delicious skewers at this bright and cheerful restaurant located on the top floor of this building. The set menu for 3800 yen includes 15 skewers and drinks for only 100 yen each. The skewers I tried were chicken, celery, octopus, quail, sesame tofu, beef, shrimp with perilla leaves, konjac in a sweet miso sauce, zuri with ponzu sauce, scallop, mushroom cream cheese, shishito pepper, asparagus wrapped in pork with mayonnaise, croquette, chicken wings, and simmered yuba with hijiki. The hijiki was a bit lacking, but overall, the food was delicious and I would love to visit again.

◼️ Time and Crowdedness I visited around 5:00 PM on a Sunday. It was still early but there were about 3 groups in the restaurant. ◼️ Food The presentation of the vegetables was stylish, and besides the sauce, there were also ponzu, salt, lemon, and curry-flavored sesame sauce available. The menu ranged from a 10-piece kushikatsu course to a satisfying course with a meal included, with an option to choose recommended skewers one by one. On this day, I opted for the 10-piece course. ◼️ Impressions The kushikatsu was light and fluffy, without any greasy feeling. I particularly liked the mushroom and cheese skewers! The mushrooms were cooked perfectly, and it felt like they paid attention to the cheese used. It was a very flavorful cheese. The chestnut skewer I ordered separately was also good. I already love chestnuts, and it was sweet (but not too sweet) and had a nice texture. It paired well with my favorite white wine. It was a wonderful meal! Thank you!

It's been a while since I met up with friends and we came here. Even though it's a kushikatsu place, it's located on the upper floor of a building, providing a quiet space away from the hustle and bustle. The restaurant looks like a traditional Japanese eatery. They have a basic course menu, with additional options available. Apart from kushikatsu, there are not many other food choices. True to their confidence, everything we tried was lightly breaded, not too sweet, and easy to eat. The flavors of the ingredients really stand out and taste delicious. Normally, I find kushikatsu batter too sweet and heavy towards the end, but here, I couldn't stop eating. The creative kushikatsu options beyond the usual beef and pork were also excellent. We were so busy eating that we hardly took any photos. The drinks also went down smoothly. Thank you for the meal.

Office district, Umeda. To be more specific, it's near Higashi-Umeda Station where you can drink cheaply, at the entrance of the Ohatsu Tenjin shopping street, on the 8th floor of a building. Every year, as part of our annual boat racing trip, we go to Boat Race Suminoe, which has night races, and since our accommodation is in Umeda, we usually return after 9:30 pm. So, finding a place to eat kushikatsu at that time is a bit limited. Among the few options, we found this place. I called to see if we could get in now, and the reception over the phone was very positive. The interior of the restaurant has a cozy and stylish atmosphere with a U-shaped counter and four-person tables around it, although it feels a bit cramped. The master and staff were very friendly and created a good atmosphere. We opted for the ¥1,800 assorted 10-piece kushikatsu course. Our group consisted mostly of older men, but the kushikatsu had a light batter, which was also a positive point. They also served unique items like sesame tofu and simmered daikon, offering a diverse and interesting lineup. Each time a dish was brought out, they kindly explained the recommended dipping sauce, which was very helpful.

Whenever I travel to Osaka or visit on business, the shop I always want to stop by the most is located near Sonezaki Police Station, in a corner of the Higashi-dori Shotengai on the 8th floor of a building. When I first came here, I honestly didn't expect to receive the best kushikatsu and attentive service. The kushikatsu ranges from traditional ones to creative ones like hijiki cooked in yuba and fried. I usually ask for the omakase style until I say stop. The kushikatsu is coated in a fine batter and well drained of oil, making it very light and not causing any stomach discomfort. They explain the recommended way to eat each skewer as it is served. And of course, there's the all-you-can-eat vegetable platter instead of just cabbage, including daikon, carrot, green onion, and more. You can enjoy plenty of vegetables, and thanks to the daikon and green onion, you can eat more refreshingly. The drink selection is not extensive, but you can feel the attention to detail in the lineup, especially with the beer in a mug. There's also a playful touch, like the half-boiled egg kushikatsu with a red heart inside, where you can get a drink or a selection of sweets as a service. It's a highly recommended kushikatsu restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

On the second night in Osaka, I went to a kushikatsu restaurant called "Ennichi"! It was my second visit in 4 years. I made a reservation for a special course only available on Tabelog. I sat at the counter and they fried and served each skewer right in front of me! The atmosphere of the restaurant and the deliciousness of the kushikatsu were both satisfying. Here's my personal ranking of the skewers I tried: 1st - Live prawn, 2nd - Beef fillet, 3rd - Pike conger eel, 4th - Shrimp-stuffed shiitake mushroom, 5th - Sand borer. I even ordered an extra live prawn because it was so good! You can have unlimited refills of vegetables, and they bring out new ones as soon as you finish. I stopped after eating 3 plates, haha. I had 2 beers and a highball, and the total bill was a little over 6000 yen, but it was worth it for the taste!

I always look forward to the seasonal menu here. It's enjoyable every time I visit. If someone says they want to eat kushikatsu in Osaka, I make a reservation here. This is the place to go for a casual business meal. It's a small restaurant, so reservations are a must. The all-you-can-eat vegetable sticks are a highlight.

There is an omakase option where they will randomly serve you skewers until you say stop. There are not many individual menu items, so it's a great place to enjoy skewers. It was very delicious!

I made a reservation for 7:00 pm and when I arrived, the staff immediately came over to take my coat. I ordered the 10 skewer course. The skewers were brought out gradually to match our eating pace. The staff recommended which sauce goes best with each skewer - salt, ponzu, or regular sauce. The vegetable sticks served as an appetizer were refillable. They were delicious when dipped in a sauce that tasted like a mix of sesame and curry.

Each skewer was carefully made and delicious. There were explanations on which sauce goes well with each skewer, and you can have the vegetable assortment refilled multiple times. The staff confirmed if there were any allergies or dislikes beforehand, and they were all friendly. I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

I went there for the first time. We started early and since there were two of us, we sat at the counter. We ordered the recommended course. The restaurant was quite spacious due to the current situation. We had the chef's choice and enjoyed it in the recommended way. Hmm, it was just okay. The restaurant had a decent rating on Tabelog, so I had high expectations, but it felt a bit overpriced. I didn't feel satisfied. Honestly, what bothered me the most was how my husband spoke to the staff. I realized that the atmosphere of a restaurant can greatly affect the taste of the food. Thank you for the meal.

I would like to clarify the difference between kushikatsu and kushiage. I personally distinguish between cheap kushikatsu and creative kushiage. The restaurant I visited served kushiage, not the typical kushikatsu where double dipping is not allowed. They had four different condiments available - salt, sauce, ponzu, and lemon. While the kushiage wasn't particularly creative, it was tasty and not cheap-tasting. I had about 17 skewers and my wife had 12, along with 6 beers, all for a total of 9960 yen. When I used to live in Tenroku, there was a kushiage restaurant called Aburaya (which has since closed) where I used to frequent, but I have yet to find a place with a similar level of quality and price.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and the skewers are all delicious. The sauce for dipping the fresh vegetables served as appetizers, which tastes like miso, is also very tasty. The hospitality of the owner and staff is wonderful, and I felt very good. I would definitely like to visit again. The 12-skewer course and rice set were just right for two people and cost just under 12,000 yen.
