This is my first visit. I have been curious about this place as I pass by almost every day. The shop is narrow, but when you go inside, it extends all the way to the back, and there are seats along the side as well. I ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal and gyoza. The Chicken Nanban was a bit on the salty side.

On Friday nights, it's hard to get into restaurants in the Yakuin area without a reservation. After being turned away from a nearby yakitori place, I went to Takigyogaku and was able to get in right away because there were no customers. I had a bottle of beer, two highballs, stamina gyoza, potato salad, half order of karaage, half order of oil-fried chicken, and half order of tantanmen, totaling 3,810 yen. The karaage and oil-fried chicken were juicy with a crispy coating and very delicious, highly recommended. The tantanmen and gyoza were average, but considering the price, they were okay. It's very appreciated to find a place that is both affordable and tasty while also being easy to get a table at.

I used to pass by this place often because it's in my neighborhood. The exterior looks like a bento shop, so I usually just walked past it. I found out they have seating inside through Tabelog, so I decided to visit. I had a bottle of beer for 580 yen, stamina gyoza for 400 yen, half portion of oil-drizzled chicken for 400 yen, half portion of mapo tofu for 480 yen, and two highballs for 450 yen each, totaling 2,760 yen. The mapo tofu was delicious and stayed hot for a long time. The oil-drizzled chicken had a sweet and savory sauce, and the chicken was tender - it's highly recommended. The prices are reasonable, making it a great option for dining alone.

The tantanmen was delicious as recommended by a follower, and I had been curious about this restaurant. I couldn't have lunch due to a trouble, so I visited for a late lunch around 6:00 PM on a weekday. It seemed like a new restaurant, very clean and had a sense of cleanliness. There was only one female staff member handling the operation. There was a vending machine. When I ordered the tantanmen, they asked if I needed an apron. When I requested it, the apron and water were served first. Then, the tantanmen was served in about 5 minutes. They advised to be careful as it was hot. First, I tried the soup. Even though I have a sensitive tongue, I could drink it normally. It had spiciness, sweetness, and umami, and it was indeed delicious as mentioned in the reviews. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles. I felt the noodles were sweet, but because they were curly noodles, they mixed well with the soup and had a good texture. There were two types of spoons, with holes and without, so I could enjoy it until the end. (It's not an easily accessible location) It is located near the popular Momokawa confectionery shop, so I think I will be visiting this place often in the future. Thank you for the meal. Highly recommended.

I heard that there is a recommended restaurant for delicious tantanmen, so I visited Takagyo Daigaku. The bright interior creates a welcoming atmosphere, making it easy for women to dine alone. I purchased a meal ticket from the ticket machine and sat at the counter since I was dining alone. Since I visited shortly after the opening, there were hardly any other customers. In addition to the regular tantanmen, they also offer a black sesame tantanmen on Fridays. Unfortunately, it wasn't the designated day, so I tried the regular tantanmen instead. It was a mild tantanmen, not too spicy. I prefer it a bit spicier. They provided two types of ladles, one with a hole to ensure you can enjoy all the toppings until the end. There are many other appetizing dishes on the menu, so I would like to try something different next time. But first, I want to try the black sesame tantanmen. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

The tantanmen I had in Yakuin was delicious, so today I went to Takasago for the mapo tantanmen! The mapo sauce was really rich and the noodles were heavy! I only took one bite, but the mapo was also delicious. The tantanmen was as good as ever! My wife really liked it, so we will definitely come back again.

This is a review of a restaurant visited for a second meal after having a full course meal. The wife searched for a place that serves rice dishes as requested by her husband, who feels like he hasn't eaten if he doesn't have rice. However, the restaurant they found did not have set meals on the menu for dinner. The restaurant had counter and table seating with a spacious layout. They tried the following dishes: "Oyaji no Lemon" (400 yen) - lightly flavored with lemon, Vegetable Oil-Drizzled Chicken with plenty of vegetables (2 pieces: 400 yen) - the chicken was large and tender, Bamboo Dumplings (6 pieces: 380 yen) - smaller than expected but tasty, Mapo Tofu (half portion: 480 yen) - slightly spicy, but the husband found it delicious, Steamed Rice (large: 350 yen) - served in a large portion, which was finished along with the Mapo Tofu. The total cost was 2,070 yen including tax.

Even without dumplings, you can enjoy cheap drinks at Takasago's "Take Gyo Daigaku"! I stumbled upon a new restaurant while walking in Takasago called "Take Gyo Daigaku". I feel like I've seen that name somewhere before. Oh, right, it's the second branch of the famous Take Gyo in Yakuin. The entrance is narrow but the interior is long. Intrigued by the word "senbero" (cheap drinks and snacks), I decided to go in. You can choose 3 items for 1000 yen. I asked if dumplings were included in the senbero, but unfortunately they were not. I opted for the crispy tofu, which was fried to perfection. It had a nice crunch to it. I enjoyed it with ginger soy sauce. By the way, the second beer is self-serve. It seems you can have up to 3 drinks for senbero. I didn't have dumplings, but it's a nice place for a casual drink. But why "Daigaku" (university)? ● Restaurant Information Take Gyo Daigaku 050-5571-1471 1-1-13 Takasago, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City Opening hours: 11:00-22:00

The tantanmen here is just right and I love it - the spiciness, flavor, noodles, and soup are all exactly what I look for in tantanmen.□Location: A little ways from Domino's Pizza in front of Sunny on Watanabe Street.□Atmosphere: Counter seating that extends from the entrance towards the back, with three tables in the back. Mostly solo customers, and I've never seen any female customers.□Service: Bright and brisk female staff, and some who are not.□Food: ・Bamboo dumpling set meal - 1,000 yen: Generous portion, delicious mapo tofu and fried chicken, but the corn soup is overly sweet, and the egg roll is too sweet. ・Lemon dumplings - 400 yen: More like a hint of fragrant wood than lemon juice. Don't you put lemon on it?

I had lunch. I was heading to a different restaurant, but I noticed this new place and suddenly had a craving for fried chicken, so I decided to go in. I ordered the fried chicken set meal for 780 yen, and even though the lunch special included extra chicken for free, I decided to stick with 5 pieces. I sat at the counter and waited for a bit, and when my meal was ready, I went to pick it up. There were two girls running the place, and when I mentioned that the chicken pieces seemed a bit small, they added an extra one for me (laughs). They also had curry powder and salt for flavoring, so I was able to enjoy my meal until the end. The fried chicken was delicious, especially when it's freshly fried. I was very satisfied. Many people were also getting takeout. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a new restaurant called "竹餃大学" in Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward on October 4, 2021. The restaurant opened on August 8 and is still relatively new. It is located south of Toei Hotel along the Jonan Line. I decided to try the "竹餃からあげ定食" (bamboo dumpling and fried chicken set) which looked appealing on the menu. I initially thought of getting the "担々麺" (spicy noodles) but ended up choosing the fried chicken set with 7 pieces for the same price. However, I noticed a sign saying that leftovers cannot be taken home, so I opted for the set with 6 pieces instead. The set came with rice (with free large serving option), side dishes, salad, and dessert which I had to pick up myself. The fried chicken (6 pieces) was served by the staff, and the miso soup was self-service. The set cost 780 yen including tax. The salad dressing had carrot and basil flavors, and the fried chicken came with lemon, mayonnaise, oil chicken sauce, tomato sauce, and basil sauce for toppings. I managed to finish the 6 pieces of chicken after feeling full by the 5th piece. The dessert of almond jelly was a nice way to end the meal. It was a satisfying lunch experience at this restaurant in Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, Takasago 1-1-13. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Open on August 8th❗ This is the second branch of the bamboo dumpling restaurant in Yakuin. It used to be a Miyazaki cuisine restaurant known for its delicious champon, but it seems to have closed down and reopened as this new place. You purchase your meal ticket from a vending machine, then receive a bowl with rice, pickles, dessert, and your main dish, while water and soup are self-service. The mapo tofu has a nice kick from the Sichuan pepper, which really adds to the flavor. The only downside is that the dishes are not served piping hot since they are not made to order. The fried chicken is served fresh, and you can choose between 1 to 7 pieces for the "fried chicken set," with the staff recommending around 4 pieces for women. I went with 4 pieces, and they were bigger than expected (4 pieces was the right call, and you can even take home any leftovers). Despite being advertised as a "mapo tofu restaurant," they also heavily promote the fried chicken. They also offer tantanmen and you can even order the fried chicken as a single item. I mainly focus on visiting restaurants that are easy for solo diners to enter. Check out my food adventures on Instagram at [account name].

It's great to have side dishes that can be easily finished by one person. The gyoza is small-sized. The karaage is large and delicious! PayPay was accepted.
