I had a wonderful encounter with the energetic Ikachan at Sumiyasan in Azabu. The sushi was as fantastic as ever, and I enjoyed a variety of wines and sake. The chef also has a booth at the Chef's Garden in Awaji Island, keeping her quite busy. I wonder when I can visit next, but I had a blissful moment there. Thank you to everyone who joined me. It was incredibly delicious. Thank you for the feast.

Sombra is a super difficult-to-reserve restaurant that does not accept new reservations. It only has 6 seats and serves dinner twice a night. This time, I was able to dine there thanks to a regular customer who invited me. The restaurant is famous for its black sushi rice made with squid ink. The tuna was exceptionally delicious. The hospitality of the owner was amazing, and I had a great time throughout the meal. The total cost for the meal, including two cups of green tea and one glass of sake, was 11,500 yen.

I visited Sushi restaurant Sumi-ya in Namba, which is known for being extremely difficult to make a reservation. It had been about 2 years since my last visit. The restaurant is even harder to book now because they have opened a new location in Awaji Island. At Sumi-ya, they serve swimming squid and prepare it right in front of you. The sushi is topped with black squid ink on the rice, and you get a generous portion at a reasonable price. I wonder when I'll be able to go again...

In July, I had a difficult time making a reservation at a popular sushi restaurant in Osaka with a budget of 14,000 yen. I was invited to a private counter party and had a great time with my friends. We enjoyed a variety of Japanese sake and dishes, starting from appetizers to sushi. It seems that Awajishima Sumi restaurant has opened on Ladybug Road, and we are already planning to visit in November for a private party. This time, we were joined by Taishi-kun, who brought a burnt saury, and it added to the excitement. We enjoyed dishes such as swordtip squid from Yamaguchi, golden threadfin bream, kawahagi, Indian tuna, and conger eel.

Popular sushi restaurant in Namba, Sumi-ya. With only 6 counter seats and no public phone number, it's a difficult place to make a reservation. For me, it's a high-end restaurant, but I was able to visit this time thanks to an invitation. The restaurant is run by a female owner who is very friendly and entertaining. We started with a toast with bottled beer! The meal began with white clam and we also enjoyed delicious swordtip squid from Yamaguchi. We switched to dry sake halfway through, trying different varieties like Natsujun, Ishizuchi, and Hidakami. Both the dishes and sushi were excellent. Personally, I especially enjoyed the hand-rolled sushi with Kawahagi liver and Ankimo. Of course, the transparent swordtip squid was also delicious. The meal included a variety of dishes such as white clam, swordtip squid sashimi, grilled mackerel, rolled sardine sushi, squid sushi, red snapper sushi, Kawahagi sushi with liver, Hokkigai sushi, grilled tuna jaw, anago sushi, tuna sushi, fatty tuna sushi, and more. I started by taking notes on my phone, but as I got more into the meal, I started to forget and became more careless. It's a restaurant I wouldn't have found on my own, but I would love to visit again if invited.

This is a sushi restaurant located in Ura-Namba, where a female chef will entertain you with her sushi-making skills. The restaurant has only 6 counter seats, so it's very small and intimate. Reservations are difficult to come by, with bookings already closed for the year. Their specialty is swimming squid, with a variety of squid dishes served depending on the season. The courses start with several dishes before moving on to sushi made with squid ink rice, offering a satisfying variety. The prices are very reasonable, around 10,000 yen for food and drinks, making it a top choice for sushi lovers. They have recently expanded to Awaji Island, so I look forward to trying that next time. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I can't wait to visit again.

The price of the course menu is around 6000 yen. Including a bottle of wine and a glass of sake, the total came to 16000 yen. It's a delightful restaurant. The food is delicious and I never get tired of coming here. It's hard to get a reservation, but it's worth the wait. The swimming sword squid was excellent, as well as the specialty squid ink sushi. The combination of flavors was fantastic!

I revisited Sume-ya, which I introduced in the first edition of my corner "Attorney Yamagishi's Delicious Enough to Sue." It was difficult to make a reservation because it's so popular. The counter area has been renovated and looks beautiful. The fresh squid dishes are still amazing! They offer squid sashimi and sushi, and you can choose how you want the tentacles prepared. The squid ink sushi rice has also improved! The drinks are delicious too, with a wide selection of sake and wine available.

No need for further explanation! (laughs) Just by looking at the photos, you can understand the quality. We had a lively conversation and drank about 10 cups of sake, feeling good and tipsy. I feel happy to be able to dine at a popular restaurant without any effort. Thank you as always. #Osaka Gourmet #Namba Gourmet #Zaura #Behind the Former Kabuki Theater #Popular Restaurant #Hidden Gem #Sumi-ya

The course where you can eat swimming squid is good, and it's cheap at around 13,000 yen, but that's all that matters. Considering the variety of alcohol and appetizers, it's okay to just make a reservation at a place where you don't have to put in much effort. It seems that they are not taking new reservations now, which is unfortunate. However, a similar restaurant has opened, so it might be okay to go there. The price there is higher than here. The cost performance here is amazing.

The restaurant was fully booked with only 6 seats, but the course was still amazing. I was happy to see squid on the menu that day, specifically the Kyoto spear squid. The sushi that followed was also excellent. It's hard to find this quality at this price point. I'm grateful for this during a time when sushi prices are on the rise. But it's still tough to get a reservation, haha.

This is a small, tiny sushi restaurant in Namba, where the female chef cooks for you. The interior has only 6 counter seats and is extremely narrow. It's by reservation only, with no phone number listed, making it hard to find. Their specialty is swimming squid, but sometimes it's not available, so you need luck. The meal starts with a few types of sashimi, followed by sushi with squid ink rice. This time, it was mainly Japanese flying squid, and the excitement was high as always. Plus, the cost performance is great, with a meal and drinks costing around 10,000 yen. It's a fantastic sushi restaurant. Thank you for the meal. Looking forward to the next visit. The course included Japanese flying squid sashimi, grilled beltfish with salt, soy-marinated squid, mackerel sushi, Japanese flying squid tempura, Japanese flying squid innards, fried taro, sushi with Japanese flying squid, flounder sushi, gizzard shad sushi, barracuda sushi, mackerel sushi, shirako sushi, shrimp sushi, red clam sushi, cucumber roll, negitoro roll, medium fatty tuna roll, miso soup.

Located in a difficult-to-reserve spot in the backstreets behind Namba, this restaurant offers a rare transparent squid sashimi that is hard to come by in Osaka. The reason being that transporting live squid is extremely challenging and costly. However, this issue has been overcome by the popular restaurant, Sumi-ya. Their course menu is omakase style, and the drinks are served by the hostess who returns with two live squids in hand. The skilled preparation results in a stunning transparent squid sashimi, with a firm texture and refreshing sweetness. The sushi is also outstanding, with thick and juicy mackerel sushi and a unique charcoal aroma. The freshness and clarity of the ingredients, along with the rich squid ink, enhance the flavor of the sushi. And the best part? The cost performance is excellent, especially considering the current trend of expensive sushi.

Sushi at Sumiya, a long-awaited experience! This year, I've been fortunate enough to visit many popular and hard-to-book restaurants, spending a lot on food. The famous squid was surprisingly shiny and a bit too flashy for my taste! I took a video but decided not to post it because, to be honest, it was a bit gross haha. Nonetheless, the sushi was incredibly delicious. I enjoyed a combination of sashimi and tempura. The sushi included rolls, small bowls, and a total of 13 pieces. The extras were around 5 items. With some sake, the total cost per person was about ¥10,000! Having over 10 pieces of sushi made me extremely happy and felt like a great deal. I hope I can visit again at least once before I die. I'm really looking forward to next month's menu featuring saury! I've been eating so much every month that I'm not even scared of New Year's anymore. Cheers to enjoying food and drinks! #OsakaGourmet #Sushi #NambaGourmet #NipponbashiGourmet #OsakaGourmet

This sushi restaurant is extremely difficult to book! The standout feature is definitely the jet black squid ink rice. The squid is not only served as sashimi, but also as salt-grilled or tempura, which is amazing. Last time, they didn't have squid so we had spiny lobster instead, and it was also delicious. The only downside is that it's really hard to get a reservation, but it's worth it!

Yesterday, after eating three bowls of ramen, we had a drinking party here (lol). In the past, the old Kabukiza behind the scenes, known as Zaura, was full of shady shops and shady characters, but now refined shops and people have gathered while still maintaining a bit of mystery! It was great as always this time too. Thank you very much. #Osaka gourmet #Namba gourmet #Near home gourmet #Old Kabukiza behind the scenes #Zaura #Hard-to-reserve restaurant #Sumiya

@sumiya.zaura Located a 5-minute walk from Namba Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, this restaurant has only 6 seats and is difficult to reserve! This time, I was invited to visit for the first time! The location of the restaurant is a bit tricky to find, so be prepared to get lost. The highlight of Sumiya is the whole squid sashimi, which was amazing to see! They might not have it on days when the weather is bad. You can have the sashimi and then have the remaining squid prepared as tempura or grilled! We opted for tempura! The fresh squid tempura was delicious! You can also add about 10 additional pieces of sushi as the main course! The tuna, squid, and mackerel sushi were particularly delicious! We also added some ark shell sushi and enjoyed it with some oolong tea, all for a total bill of 8800 yen!!! Such a great deal! Having such amazing sushi in Namba for just over 10,000 yen is unbelievable... This place truly offers great value for the price! No wonder it's so hard to get a reservation... Thank you for the wonderful meal!

A small sushi restaurant with an L-shaped counter with 6 seats. The counter is narrow, so you have to sit with your legs sideways. Despite being hard to reserve, it's a popular spot run by a female owner who serves the dishes alone. It's located in a surprisingly aged building in a hidden corner. The restroom is outside, which might be a bit inconvenient for women. They are famous for cutting live squid right in front of you. The squid sashimi has a fresh, crunchy texture that's really good. The sushi rice is mixed with squid ink, but I didn't notice much difference in taste. The rice was slightly dry and soft. The mackerel sushi uses white rice, making it fluffy and rich in fat. The white sea bream sushi was delicious! They only offer a set course menu with 4 appetizers and 10 pieces of sushi. They have a variety of drinks from sake to wine. The dishes included squid sashimi, grilled black throat sea perch, squid in sake, mackerel sushi, grilled squid legs and fried squid, squid, white sea bream, horse mackerel, flathead flounder, another fish (forgot), spotted shrimp, tuna red meat, tuna hand roll, edamame, conger eel.

This restaurant is wonderful every time. The mainstay here is squid, and they also serve a good mix of classic dishes and seasonal items. Sometimes they serve fish that I haven't tried before. Even after ordering extra and drinking a lot, the bill is around 10,000 yen. It's a fantastic restaurant.
