The atmosphere is very nice, like a renovated old mansion. The bandit hot pot, enjoyed while looking out at the garden, is excellent. There are many young staff members in the dining area, while the kitchen is run by older cooks. It was a bit disappointing to hear shouting from the kitchen all the way to the dining area.

In Iizuka, there is a restaurant called Yanzoku Nabe. It is located near my parents' house and has spacious tatami seating, making it a great place for gatherings during my student days. They offer lunch sets for around 1,000 yen, but I wanted to try their Yanzoku Nabe, which is a serving for 2-3 people. They also have a Pirate Nabe which features seafood like crab and shrimp. When the Yanzoku Nabe arrived, it had pork, chicken, macaroni, udon, and plenty of Chinese cabbage in a bubbling miso soup. The rich miso soup was delicious, and the minced chicken was especially tasty. The seating is in a raised tatami area, allowing you to enjoy the hot pot without worrying about the surroundings.

It is located in a hard-to-find place away from the main street, but the size of the property and the building feels unusual. I visited during lunchtime on a weekday and customers kept coming in one after another. There were many elderly customers. Perhaps because it's a Japanese restaurant. I ordered the grilled yellowtail set meal from the lunch menu (950 yen). It was quite satisfying for the price. The miso soup and chawanmushi were delicious. Lunch menus start from 680 yen, and I was surprised by the variety of choices. It's nice to be able to relax here.

I went for lunch today (until 3pm) and had the Bandit Tofu set meal for 700 yen.

When it comes to hot pot in Iizuka, this is the place ☺️ It's a kid-friendly restaurant where you can enjoy a satisfying amount of food ☺️.

I eat at the restaurant and also bring the food home to eat. The hot pot soup is delicious. The fried chicken is also delicious.

The restaurant, also named "Yamabushi Nabe," is known for its hearty hot pot dishes. The seating consists mainly of semi-private areas where six people can gather around one stove. While it may be possible to squeeze in up to eight people, it's better to split into two groups if there are seven or more to ensure a comfortable distance from the stove. The Yamabushi Nabe is generously filled with mountain delicacies and is meant to be enjoyed by adding ingredients one after another. The menu indicates servings for two people (4-6 servings), but a two-person portion was sufficient for our group of six. In terms of taste, it's decent for the price, with nothing particularly outstanding. The real value of this restaurant lies in the ability to gather a large group of people around a hot pot.

We went with six adults and one child in the evening around 6 o'clock. It was very crowded, with many people waiting. The specialty here is the "Bandit Hot Pot," which serves about two to three people and has a surprising volume. It includes pork, beef, chicken, large vegetables, and optional udon noodles. The menu is extensive, offering tempura, rice balls, bandit tofu, and more. The seating is like a semi-private room with sunken kotatsu style, so children don't get tired and older people find it comfortable. Although it has become a chain restaurant in many places, I have only been to the one in my hometown, Iizuka, which seems to be quite popular.

Oh dear? The staff at Wakazono branch (lol) were more welcoming this time. I had some business in Namera on the outskirts of Iizuka City and decided to visit. Excited from my second consecutive visit to Yamahei, I dashed in. The attitude of the staff was bad (lol). A girl who looked like a Yankee (lol). Anyway, I sat at a table and ordered the service set meal I came for. Surprisingly, it was served in about 5 minutes. Huh, Wakazono branch is better. Upon closer inspection, it said something like "Chikuhou version" (lol). The set meal included fried food, chawanmushi, sashimi, side dishes, rice, and miso soup. It's definitely Wakazono branch, right (lol)?

I use this restaurant occasionally. At night, I order a hot pot with mountain bandit rice balls, deep-fried tofu, fried chicken, sashimi platter, etc. During the day, I order the affordable set meals. Both lunch and dinner are very filling!! The hot pot soup is delicious. Sometimes I just buy the soup and make hot pot at home. The mountain bandit rice balls are like big bombs, enough for about 4 people, with lots of fillings. The deep-fried tofu is large and comes with a sweet sauce that I like. The fried chicken is huge, and the sashimi is fresh. The food is great, but I think there are issues with the service. I always end up feeling bad due to incidents that happen every time I visit, so I often feel hesitant to go back.
