When returning from Namba, I always take the Hanshin or Kintetsu train because it's convenient being inside the station. The curry at Funaba Curry is packed with the savory flavor of squid ink. Categorized as "Japanese curry," it would be like Thai curry or Indian curry. My go-to order here is the beef tendon and green onion curry. The photo shows a large serving with extra tendon topping. It's consistently delicious, but it seems like the spiciness has been toned down a bit recently. I used to enjoy the subtle spiciness that would gradually build up as you eat, making you break a sweat, but that seems to be missing this time. The flavor has changed a bit.

I ordered tonkatsu curry for dinner. The curry here is absolutely delicious, with a rich and smooth sauce that complements the freshly fried tonkatsu, making it even more appetizing. Located inside Nankai Namba Station, it is easily accessible. While there are many delicious restaurants offering spice curry or soup curry these days, eating the traditional Japanese curry here is truly comforting.

Inside the Nankai Namba Station in Osaka, there is a shop where you can enjoy a quick lunch during transfers. I had the Beef Tendon and Green Onion Curry. The curry had a dark color and I heard it contains squid ink. The beef tendon had a similar volume to regular beef curry. The green onions gave it a unique Osaka touch. It was delicious.

I stopped by on my way home from work! Just like the last time I visited "Naniwa Men Jiro," this shop is also located in the station building of Kintetsu Osaka Namba Station, with a large curtain as a sign above the counter. This time, I ordered the large portion of pork cutlet curry. The distinctive feature of Funabori Curry is the squid ink curry. It doesn't taste overwhelmingly like squid ink and has just the right amount of flavor, so it doesn't detract from the curry taste and is easy to eat. The pork cutlet is freshly fried after ordering, so you can enjoy it while it's piping hot (be careful not to burn yourself!). You can also choose the level of spiciness for an additional fee. This time, I chose the normal level, but I'm thinking of trying the spicy level next time.

When it's hot or when camping, you might crave curry, right? So, I quickly headed to Namba, Osaka. I didn't know about squid ink curry before, but it's a base with spiciness and the squid ink perfectly balances that heat. The signature feature here is the generous amount of roux. The curry comes with a thin, crispy cutlet that is freshly fried, so you can enjoy it crispy. Thank you for the meal, and on the way back, I realized I forgot my phone, so I hurried back! I placed it between the table condiments, hoping no one would notice. I returned and the staff kindly handed it to me right away. I was thinking about other options in Namba, but I forgot about them. It made me think that if I had smoothly returned, maybe I would have encountered some disaster. I felt grateful to God.

Hello everyone in July 2023! It's a three-day weekend for everyone, but I have to work. The bank is busy too. After finishing a job, I had lunch at the Nankai Namba station gourmet area. I wish they had more stores. I had the squid ink curry today. It was a luxurious meal with beef, spinach, tonkatsu, green onions, and a soft-boiled egg on top. The spinach and green onions balanced out the rich curry nicely. It was delicious. I wonder if next time I should try the chicken keema curry with chicken katsu on top. It was a great meal. Thank you! ❤️

I have been here a few times before. I came back after a long time to see if the taste has changed. I ordered the beef curry. Unfortunately, it is different from before. The curry sauce seems thin. It used to be a delicious curry with a rich flavor... What a disappointment. This could be a fatal blow... There is a branch near my office in Higashi-Shinsaibashi, I need to check it out next time to see if it's the same taste...

I went out to exchange something and decided to take a short break while I was out, so I took the train to a station. I couldn't decide where to go, so I ended up choosing a store inside the station, which was the most convenient option. It was a revisit, so I felt relaxed. I momentarily forgot that it was a pay-first system and hurriedly paid for my order. The menu included cheese, which I had ordered at a local curry shop recently. The taste was rich and enjoyable, and although the rice was regular, the portion of the curry was generous, providing a satisfying meal. It filled me up and made me forget about my hunger. As I looked up at the cloudy sky, I hoped it would clear up as I rode the escalator back home.

A shop with only a counter and a prepayment system. It's located in the middle of the station, so it's perfect for a quick meal. I was surprised that the food came out right after I ordered. I've been going to a certain chain restaurant a lot lately, but it's nice to try something different once in a while. Cheap, fast, and delicious - it's like getting curry at a beef bowl restaurant. The curry had just the right balance of spiciness and sweetness, and the rice was perfect with it. Thank you for the meal!

Attracted by the rare color black, I visited the store. It was around 3 or 4 o'clock, so there were only a few people inside. As for the taste, honestly, I couldn't understand why it was black at all. However, the beef tendon curry was quite good, with chunks of simmered beef tendon inside.

After shopping, I found a restaurant called Funabashi Curry inside the station! I decided to try their "Beef Tendon and Green Onion Curry" which caught my eye in the photo. It's a black curry because it uses squid ink. Surprisingly, it's not very spicy... but it's a delicious curry with a rich flavor. The beef tendon is tender and the Achilles tendon is soft and gelatinous. It paired well with plenty of crunchy green onions. I'm full now... thanks for the meal! (๑>◡<๑)

I heard it was delicious and went, but maybe because of my hangover, I couldn't really taste the goodness, and I felt sorry for the person who recommended it to me. I heard a voice from the next table saying, "It has squid ink in it," but is that true? It was definitely very black, but I wonder if the blackness dilutes the curry flavor. Beef curry. Rice portion was normal.

#Funatsukare #Inside Kintetsu Namba Station Store April 2023
Hello everyone! I wanted to eat curry so I decided to visit this convenient Kintetsu station gourmet spot!
I ordered the Pork Cutlet Curry for ¥820. The black curry sauce with squid ink brought back nostalgic memories. It was delicious and had a rich flavor. The balance between the sauce and rice was perfect! The combination of pork cutlet and curry was amazing!
However, I think the sauce contains beef tendons and green onions. The man next to me guessed it right!
Eating station gourmet food like this is so enjoyable. Thank you, Kintetsu Railway!
Yummy! Thank you for the meal!

The curry shop at the station was closed again yesterday. So, I decided to head back towards Yamato Nishinookadera while browsing through food blogs. I found out that in Osaka Namba station, they are recommending the "Beef Tendon and Green Onion Curry." Since I was feeling hungry, I decided to go for the safe option and ordered the "Pork Cutlet Curry." The beef tendon curry was described as being a "black curry," so I assumed the pork cutlet curry would be a regular curry. However, to my surprise, the pork cutlet curry was also a "black curry." The black color was said to be from squid ink, but I have never tasted squid ink before, so I was a bit hesitant. However, there was no fishy taste or smell at all. The spiciness was just right, and it was mild enough for even children to enjoy. As someone with a sweet tooth, I found it delicious. The only downside was that the counter was located along a busy walkway, making it a bit difficult to eat comfortably. But overall, I enjoyed the unique taste and color of the squid ink curry. In my opinion, both Yamato Nishinookadera and Osaka Namba offer a similar experience for enjoying "station food court life."

Reliable station shop for urgent timing. Payment is required upfront, so you order, pay, take a breather, and then your order is served quickly. I was in a hurry, so I avoided toppings that would take time, but the fast service was a lifesaver as I had plans afterwards. The medium-sized beef tendon curry comes with free pickled radish, which is a nice touch.

I went to Namba Station on the Kintetsu line after a long time to ride the Kintetsu train. I knew there was a curry shop called Funabashi Curry, so I went there without hesitation. The shop only has a counter, and it was a bit cold inside the station. It was around 2:00 PM when I arrived, and there were about 5 customers. The shop was understaffed, but my order came out in about 2 minutes, which was great because I was in a hurry. Today, I had the beef and spinach curry with extra rice and curry. I added a lot of Fukujinzuke and a little rakkyo, and finished it in about 2 minutes. I was in and out of the shop in 5 minutes, and made it in time for my transfer. The curry was reliably delicious. Thank you for the meal.

A curry shop with unique squid ink curry roux
■Store Overview
The shop is located inside the Kintetsu Namba Station. It is a counter-only store facing the station passage, in a dining area. Due to infection control measures, the seating is spacious with one seat apart, which is nice. The shop specializes in curry. The prices are quite reasonable. I had the pork cutlet curry. It was ¥830, affordable, and although the saltiness was a bit strong, it was a curry that brought out the goodness of squid ink. Thank you for the meal.

◯ Pork Cutlet Curry Roux: The richness of squid ink is well brought out, but the saltiness is a distinctive feature. The level of having squid ink in the roux is similar to the standard store, but due to excessive saltiness, it is rated at the satisfactory level. Rice: A mixture of Indica rice and Japonica rice, which goes well with the light curry, but from my perspective, the flavor of the rice is quite low. The taste of the rice is quite inferior. Ingredients: None Toppings: The pork cutlet was fried and thick, and was delicious. I think it was about 100g.
■Cost Evaluation 65/100 points 13pt
The standard curry rice is cheaper than retail price statistics, and I think the additional katsu, as well as the price of the large serving, is also cheap. There are no particular additional points or deductions.

Located on the west side of Nankai Namba Station, this Osaka curry chain restaurant offers a black curry with squid ink as a hidden ingredient. The flavor is addictive, making you want to come back for more. There are various toppings available. Conveniently located in the station, it's a great option for busy times.

Today's lunch was in Namba. I didn't have much time, so I had curry at the Curry PLUS Nankai Namba store inside Nankai Namba Station. I ordered the Beef Tendon Curry for 820 yen with a large serving for an additional 100 yen. Payment is made in advance. The curry arrived in about 2 minutes. It looks very dark. When I took a bite, it wasn't as spicy as it looks, but rather had a sweet taste. There were chunks of meat in it, which gave it a good texture. The firm white rice went well with the curry roux. It's quite a delicious curry. It's nice to be able to easily have a curry lunch. Thank you for the meal.

In Namba Station, there is a restaurant called Funaba Curry. I had decided that I wanted to try Osaka curry from the moment I boarded the Kintetsu train for some business in Osaka. Due to time constraints and their irregular holidays, I had been struggling to make a decision, but I stumbled upon this place shortly after getting off the train and decided to give it a try. As seen in the photo, the color is unique, but I enjoyed the taste, and the chicken cutlet was freshly fried after ordering, making it crispy and delicious.
