I visited Yachiyo Shokudo. It is located near Kiyotaki Danchi in Shijonawate City. The restaurant opens at 9 am, but you can have coffee before that. Meals are served from 11 am, so please keep that in mind. (Actually, I was once kicked out ^^;) They have a wide variety of menu items such as set meals, udon, soba, sushi, and even cup ramen. You can get hot water for 10 yen. They also sell items like bread, ice cream, juice, and gas canisters for portable stoves. Since I wasn't very hungry, I ordered the tanuki soba. It arrived piping hot with steam rising from it. The bonito broth had a wonderful aroma. The broth itself was delicious, with a good balance of bonito and soy sauce. The noodles seemed to be dry noodles. The fried tofu was thick and had a nice texture. The previous customer left, so I was the only one in the restaurant. It felt really nice and relaxing. The barley tea was delicious. I felt like staying there forever. Next time, I'll come back for the black tea (150 yen). Thank you for the meal!

I have been going to this restaurant for about 30 years. It's located close to my parents' house, and we have been ordering delivery from them since I was young. They serve Kansai-style sweet broth with sweet fried tofu on top, called kitsune udon, for only 320 yen. The shrimp and cucumber sushi roll with mayonnaise, called ebi-kyu, is nostalgic! It's the taste of my hometown. This restaurant is located in Shijonawate. Their katsudon is also delicious. I definitely want to have their katsudon again on my next visit back home.
